Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge and 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge Day 3: Lovely as a Tree

Good morning, it's the start to another week.  We had a great weekend but WOW fall has officially arrived it was quite cold and windy this weekend (I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to the warmer weather).  It's the first Monday of the month which means it's time for another color challenge over on the  Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog.  I decided to combine this with the gratitude challenge to make this soft and pretty card.

I'll admit when I first saw this color combination I was a little stumped but I decided to use the classic, Lovely as a Tree.  I started with Pear Pizzaz for the cardbase and then added a layer of Very Vanilla that was matted with Garden Green cardstock.  I used several different stamps from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set and used all the different greens, and stamped off for some to provide lots of different variations on the colors, making the large single tree in the front the focal.  The greeting is from the Lots of Thanks stamp set and I just used my Stampin' Write Markers to ink the part of the greeting I needed.  I used some Old Olive ink to sponge around the edge of the cardstock and all over the front to soften it.

The final touch was to add a piece of Venetian Crochet Trim and some Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon along the side.  This design would work with lots of different color combinations and occasions, which I love.

Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and come play along and share your creations.

Happy stamping,

Diana
