Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC341: Stitched All Around

Good morning!

I've been a little neglectful of my Annual Catalog preorder which included our beautiful 2019-2021 In Colors so I thought this weeks Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge was a perfect opportunity to share some of these colors while mixing a little new and old.

I started with Seaside Spray cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  On the cardfront I used the new Delightful Day stamp set to stamp several of the images to build up the base for the greeting (I used Seaside Spray, Pretty Peacock, and Rococo Rose inks).

For the main stamped image the greeting is from the Stitched All Around stamp set and after stamping in Pretty Peacock Ink on the Seaside Spray cardstock I cut it out with the Stitched Shapes dies.  Next I added a piece of 2019-2019 Designer Series Paper that I punched out with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch (you can buy both the punch and the Delightful Day stamp set as a bundle and save 10%) on both ends so I could thread pieces of Nature's Twine through the hole and wrap it around the matted cardfront.

The final touches to the card was adding a piece of Pretty Peacock 1/2" Scalloped Linen Ribbon behind the tag piece as well as several silver pearls from the Metallic Pearls for a little bling.

There are so many fun textures and elements that really help dress this card up to help someone know how special you think they are.  Don't forget to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for inspiration and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create using this sketch, have fun!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #317: Delightful Day

Good morning!

I am in love with so many things in the new Annual Catalog I have to admit I feel a little overwhelmed trying to decide where to start and what to spend time with first.  I know, crazy problem, but at least we have a full year to enjoy everything.  It was in that vein that I made this card for this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge, mixing a little old with a little new.

I started with Petal Pink cardstock for the cardbase and then added a cardfront using Blackberry Bliss cardstock that was embossed with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder.  Next I took a piece of So Saffron cardstock and embossed it with the Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder and added a few Gold Metallic Pearls in the bottom right corner.

The Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper is absolutely stunning (it was hard to cut up) so I added a strip to the card and wrapped a piece of Blueberry Bushel 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon and tied a bow.  To finish off the card I added the greeting, from the new Delightful Day stamp set and used my Stampin' Write Markers to color directly on the stamp before stamping on Whisper White cardstock and cutting it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I sponged around the edges with Old Olive ink and then attached the greeting with dimensionals.

I wouldn't normally put these colors together but they work so well in this designer series paper I took it's design as the lead and am really happy with how it turned out.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create using this sketch.

Mini Tae Kwon Do Thank You's: A Big Thank You

Good afternoon!

I have one more quick and easy thank you card to share from all the end of year craziness.  Aidan has been going to his Tae Kwon Do studio for before and after school care for the past 7 years, and this is his last year so it's only fitting that he needed to give special thank you's to all the instructors and staff.  Of course we baked yummy cookies but we needed cards to go with them so I whipped up these 3"x3" cards.

I used Basic Gray  cardstock for the cardbase and then used Bermuda Bay cardstock to mat the Basic Black cardfront which was embossed with the Corrugated Dynamic Embossing Folder (I love the deep embossing you get with your folder but here's a tip, cut your cardstock a little big and then emboss it.  The cardstock shrinks on one side more than the other so by having the cardstock a little bigger you can trim it down to exactly the size you need when you're finished).

Next I added a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock that was cut with the Layering Circles Framelits and then then added a circle punched out of the Black Foil Paper (when I punched it some of the silver under the black showed through but I kind of like the distressed look for this card.

The greeting is from the A Big Thank You stamp set and was stamped in Bermuda Bay and Basic Gray ink before being punched out and attached with dimensionals.

I like the simplicity of this card and it gives just enough room for Aidan to write his thank you message without leaving lots of blank space (let's be honest teen boys are not exactly known for lots of words, especially when they have multiple cards to write).

Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge #PCC340: Happy Tails

Good morning!

It's the first day of summer vacation and Aidan is so excited for some extended time off, which of course means he gets to spend extra time with Mocha (I believe he's a little obsessed with his dog but neither of them are complaining, haha!)  It's perfect time given this week the Paper Craft Crew Inspiration challenge is about precious pets so I had our Mocha dog as inspiration.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Early Espresso cardstock that was embossed with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder.  Next I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and used the Happy Tails stamp set to stamp the little paw print all over using Crumb Cake ink and then matted it with Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  The greeting was stamped in Early Espresso ink before I wrapped some Whisper White Baker's Twine around the piece and attached it to the cardfront.

For the pup I stamped him in Early Espresso ink (the outline) and then used Crumb Cake and Early Espresso ink for the dots before punching it out with the Dog Builder Punch and attached it with dimensionals to a circle that I cut out of Cherry Cobbler cardstock using the Stitched Shapes Framelits (the circle piece was also attached with dimensionals).

Doesn't this little guy just make you think no matter what, everything is going to be OK?  I love the healing magic of our furry friends!  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using this inspiration and then we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.
