Christmas in July - Stamping 411 Challenge

Happy Monday! We are on vacation this week and I've been looking forward to this vacation for weeks. We actually decided to stay home and just relax and enjoy some of the activities around us, so far it's been put put golf, we had a lot of fun and Chris only had to go into the fountainn twice to retrieve our golf balls gone astray. One of the best things about this vacation so far is that I've actually be able to stamp, which means I'm back to the Stamping 411 challenge. Since one of my projects this week to get a headstart on our family christmas cards I thought that what better subject for this weeks challenge than a christmas card. I love the new Tree Trimmings stamp set and have been excited to use the new set. I started with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and and stamped my various ornament images with Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, and Real Red classic ink (this is a great opportunity to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure the strings line up with the ornaments and the ornaments are placed right).
I mounted the stamped image to layer of Old Olive cardstock and used the mat pack to punch three holes in the top right corner that are all lined up, perfect for the Siver Brads. The Merry Moments DSP paper matches the stamp set perfectly, there are even ornament images on some of the paper, how cool!!! The center strip uses a 1" strip of DSP mounted on Chocolate Chip cardstock. The candy cane striped DSP is mounted to the Chocolate Chip cardstock base. I added a piece of Very Vanilla to the inside of the card so I could punch a peek-a-boo hole with the Modern Label Punch for the greating to show through to the front. The greeting, stamped in Old Olive, is from the Teenie Tiny Messages stamp set, a new set to the catalog and one that has already become on of my favorite go to sets due to its versatility. I also stamped on of the ornaments on the inside of the card with Real Red ink so it's very festive.
I really like how the card turned out and it definately makes me think of the holidays, even if it is 90 degrees outside.
Hope you have a great week and stay cool!

Circle Circus Get Well Wishes

We had a great stamp-a-stack on Sunday trying out the new In Colors and stamp sets, thank you all who were able to attend. I must admit after Sunday I haven’t been motivated to create new things (I know, it’s hard to believe). Today’s card uses the new Circle Circus and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets. I started with a Melon Mambo card base love this color. I used the swirl image from the Razzle Dazzle stamp set and Melon Mambo ink and repeatedly stamped the image on the top half of the card. Then, I cut a strip of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and stamped the swirl with Rich Razzleberry ink on top of the DSP (it adds a unique touch to the DSP). The DSP was matted on a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock and adhered to the card.

For the circle image I used the large circle pattern and stamped it once with Crushed Curry ink and once with Rich Razzleberry ink on whisper white cardstock. I used my Scallop Circle punch and punched out a plain piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock and the Razzleberry stamped Circle. Then I used the 1” circle punch to punch out the center of the Crushed Curry stamped circle before being glued on top of the Rich Razzleberry stamped image (plain Razzleberry scalloped circle is layered behind). Then I used the Crop-a-dile to punch a hole in the center of the circle and inserted a Clear Crystal Circle Brad.

A piece of Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon was wrapped around the DSP strip before the circles were attached to the cared. Finally, I adhered a piece of Whisper White Cardstock in the inside of the card, used the new Modern Label Punch to punch a window in the card front and used a greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and Rich Razzleberry Ink to stamp the greating through the window and onto the inside of the card.

Ta Da ….nice, simple, pretty card! I have noted that this is definitely my “go to”card layout and is definitely my favorite since it works with a variety of stamped images, shapes, etc.

I do promise that I will be heading back into the stamp room soon and am already starting to plan upcoming classes, such as a Big Shot II class as well as a holiday class utilizing holiday Simply Scrappin’ kit, so stay tuned for more details.

Razzle Dazzle Birthday

I'm really enjoying the new stamp sets and In Colors from the new catalog. While I don't receive my new catalog order until tomorrow (come on Mr. Brown, looking for an early delivery) but these items were from the sneek peak offering (just one of the perks of being a demonstrator).
The card base is Rich Razzleberry and I used the Razzle Dazzle stamp set and Rich Razzleberry ink to stamp the print along the left edge. Then I added a piece of Razzleberry Lemonaid DSP (I love this paper). For the main image, after using Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Markers (you've got that right, we have markers for the new In Colors, whoo hoo) on the flower image I stamped in on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I matted the image on a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock and used the Horizontal Slot punch in the top left corner. Then I threaded a piece of Crushed Curry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon through the slot and wrapped it around the DSP before mounting it to the cardbase.
The sentiment uses the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (also new this year) on a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock with Rich Razzleberry Ink. Then I used the Modern Label Punch and popped the greating up with Dimensionals.
I hope you enjoy this card. We'll we using this stamp set and DSP for a different card this Sunday at Stamp-a-Stack. Also, we'll be using the Circle Cutter Plus (you'll get to play with this great new tool) as well as learn a new technique. There is still time to RSVP so please email ASAP if you are interested in attending.
Have a great evening!

Stamping 411 Challenge, Wow Birthday.

We have really been enjoying the holiday weekend and I must admit I'm not looking forward to heading back to work tomorrow. We were able to spend the 4th of July with some friends out a Great Meadow. There was great event that ended with fireworks (of course). We had a great time, especially given the fact that it wasn't hot or humid yesterday (what a change from the normal Viriginia weather this time of year.
For this weeks Stamping 411 challenge challenge I wanted to show off some of the fabulous new In Colors that I'm already enjoying. The card base uses Rich Razzleberry and added a piece of Razzleberry Lemonaide DSP along with a stripe of Crushed Curry Cardstock. I wrapped a piece of Rich Razzleberry Polka Dotted Grosgrain Ribbon.
For the stamped image is used the Wow Flowers stamp set, I kind of thought the pattern on the DSP was similar to the stamp image. I stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock 3 times, with Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, and Melon Mambo ink. I used my Crop-a-dile to punch a hole out of the center of the starburst so that the cardstock would show through and used my 1", 1 1/4", and 1 3/8" circle punches to create the layers. For the greating I stamped the birthday greating with Rich Razzleberry in on Crushed Curry cardstock. Then I punched the greating out with the Modern Label Punch and partially wrapped it around the DSP before adhering it with SNAIL.

I hope you like this weeks card and I'm sure once you see and use the new In Colors you'll love them too! Don't forget July's Stamp-a-stack will be next Sunday, July 12 at 2:00 PM and we'll be using the new In Colors and new stamp sets so contact me to reserve your spot.

Happy Sunday!

Happy 4th of July!

I don't know about you but I love this holiday, it always reminds me of the parades, family picinics, and fireworks from my childhood and now I get to share all those experiences with Aidan and share in his joy. As a special treat for the holiday made Chris and Aidan these cute little gifts. They were super easy with the Big Shot and the Matchbox die. I used non-SU! paper (had to use the flag paper) which matched perfectly with the Riding Hood Red Cardstock. The words are from the Teenie Tiny Wishes stamp set (a fabulous set from the new catalog).

I used the Large Star Punch to cut the star from the front cover and used piece of transparency to cover the hole. This gift would not be complete without the special Red, White, and Blue M&M's so we went to Wegman's so we were able to mix our own custom blend, perfect for the holiday.

Also, I participated in a new catalog card swap on Split Coast Stampers and just received my new samples today. These ladies made some great cards and I just had to share this card with you since it seems to perfectly suit the holiday.

Jacy Smith made this great card and used the new Punch Window Movers & Shapers die for the Big Shot. The small Whisper White Start is covered in Dazzling Diamonds which looks great in person.

Hope you and your family are able to have a safe and happy holiday weekend!
