Last Day of Sale-a-bration 2014: Don't Miss Out

Good morning!  It's another Monday and today is the last day of Sale-a-bration for 2014.  I have really loved all the products that we can earn for FREE this year and this is always the time of year that I get the items that have been on my wish list as well as stocking up on all my essentials, like cardstock, adhesives, etc.  Today I wanted to share a fun card I designed using two of the items you can earn for FREE through today.  The cardbase is Crisp Cantaloupe and I added a layer of Whisper White cardstock.  The greeting is from the See Ya Later stamp set (a Sale-a-bration Freebie) and I used Stampin' Write markers to color in the stamp before stamping.  The designer series paper is Sweet Sorbet (another Sale-a-bration Freebie) and I cut it out with the Big Shot and the Oval Collection Framelits.

I used the Paper Piercing tool and Occasions Paper Piercing Pack to paper pierce around the oval.  I used some Silver Glimmer Paper (a weekly deal that ends today!) that was punched out with the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch and then I added an In Color Boutique Detail element in Pistachio Pudding.

I designed this card for a team meeting earlier in the year and it was a big hit, plus you can use the lay out for all types of occasions and color combinations.  I always hate when I miss out on a sale so I want to make sure to give you this last reminder that Sale-a-bration is ending today and you can earn a FREE exclusive SAB item for every $50 you spend, including My Digital Studio downloads, Weekly Deals, Clearance Rack items, everything (AWESOME!!!)  Please let me know if you need any assistance placing your order.

Also, just a reminder that today is the last day to sign up for Paper Pumpkin and take advantage of the FREE marker set for all new members (a $14.95 value).  You can get all the details at:  https://mypaperpumpkin.com/en/ and please make sure to select me as your demonstrator.

Have a great day!

Sketch Frenzy Friday Sketch Challenge: Farewell Sale-a-Bration Petal Parade

Happy Friday! I've been looking forward to this weekend for month's, I head out of town twice a year for an all weekend long scrapbooking retreat in PA and I'm currently busy crafting away and enjoying some much needed relaxing girl time.  I want to take a break to share the fun card I made for this weeks Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge.   Tammy made this weeks fun sketch and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to showcase for the last last time lots of great Sale-a-Bration items since this yearly sale ends at the end of the month. I used four of the FREE sale-a-bration items on this one card, so fun.  The cardbase is Sahara Sand and I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (I made sure the leave the bottom of the cardstock unembossed).  I absolutely love the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper so I used a strip of it that was matted on Basic Black cardstock that's punched with the Scallop Border Punch and wrapped some Pool Party Baker's Twine (from the Sweet Sorbet Accessories Pack) around the DSP.

The flower images are from the Petal Parade stamp set (another SAB freebie) and I punched them out with a 1 3/4" Circle PunchDimensonals were used to attached the flowers to the cardfront and I added little cork diamonds to the center of each flower, also from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Kit. The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamped on Pool Party cardstock, punched out with the Word Window Punch and matted with Basic Black that was punched with the Modern Label Punch.  A little half pearl is the perfect finishing touch.

This card I so bright and cheery, perfect to help someone feel better and with all these great Sale-a-bration Freebies don't miss out on your opportunity to add these to your crafting stash, love them!

Have a great weekend and happy crafting!

I don't know about you but I'm constantly on the go, between work, school, kids activities, stamping events, and race training I don't really have much time to sit still and just be.  I have also made a goal this year to work on actually sending out cards to friends and family for occasions, and just because to help spread the joy and love but am frequently rushed for time.  So I was really excited when I saw the new Watercolor Wonder suite of products in this years Occasions catalog, I knew they would be perfect for making quick and easy cards for any occasion that are absolutely stunning, using the Watercolor Wonder Designer Note cards as the base.  These note cards are perfect since they come as a set with envelopes with the cardbases already designed and just waiting to be accessorized.  I was able to make all these cards in a snap and for each of the cards I used products from the Watercolor Wonder Product Suite a the key elements and have listed the items used in each card below.

Stamp Set(s):  Happy Watercolor, Remembering Your Birthday

Ink:  Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo
Accessories:  Ovals Collection Framelits, Fancy Fans Embossing Folder, Mini Metallic Clothespins, Silver Baker's Twine

I have to say, I really like how these note cards turned out and they would make an equally great gift and since there note cards come in a set of 20 you could make a huge supply of cards and gifts in little time, perfect for those of us on the go.  Don't forget Sale-a-bration is ending at the end of the month so you only have a few more days to take advantage of this sale and you can purchase the products used in these samples and be on your way to earning FREE product.  Ask me how I can help you save!

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge: See Ya Later

Today's the day, we're supposed to see some more snow, so we'll see what happens, it's time to just enjoy every moment.  Since this is the last week of Sale-a-bration I decided to showcase the fabulous SAB Freebies since I love them and hope you're able to take advantage of this great sale. Today I decided to play along with the Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge and had lots of fun with the See Ya Later stamp set (that little alligator is way cute!!!)  The cardbase is Daffodil Delight and I added a layer of Basic Black and Gumball Green cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (it kind of reminds me of scales on the alligator).  The DSP flag is from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper package and I added a little flag with a piece of Basic Black Chevron Ribbon.

The main stamped image is from the See Ya Later stamp set and I used Stampin' Write Markers to color in the stamp before stamping on Whisper White cardstock.  This piece if matted with Daffodil Delight cardstock. I also added a little piece of Paper Doily along the bottom of the cardstock.  The final touch was adding a Basic Black Button that has a bow tied with Whisper White Baker's Twine

This is such a cute card and I can't wait to use this card to let someone know I miss them and am thinking of them, this little cutie will sure to make someone smile and cheer up!  This is a great sketch that can be used for lots of projects down the road, it would also be great for a scrapbook page.

Enjoy,

Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge: Bootiful Occasions

Good Morning and we're in for another crazy weather week, can you believe we may actually get more snow?  Really??  All I know is I'm determined to enjoy every nice day we have and this weekend was wonderful, I was actually able to leave my gloves and winter clothes at home on my runs this weekend which was wonderful.  Today I'm playing along with this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge and decided to get a head start on upcoming birthdays and thought this would be perfect for my dad.  I'm going to start by saying I sponged pretty much every layer with Crumb Cake ink (this way I don't have to say it for each layer, it really helps soften the colors).  I started with Crumb Cake for the cardbase and added a layer of Crushed Curry and then Midnight Muse cardstock underneath a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Lattice Embossing Folder.

For the main stamped image I used the Bootiful Occasions stamp set (this cowboy boot is perfect for dad) and I ink the stamp with Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, and Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Markers.  I used a Blender Pen and Classic Inks to color in the cowboy boot.  This layer is matted with Tangerine Tango and I added flags of Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, along with some Burlap Ribbon (that I trimmed the edges off the ribbon and distressed it).  The greeting is from the same stamp set and I used Stampin' Write Markers to color in the stamp before stamping, punched it out with the Oval Punch and then matted it with Crushed Curry that was punched with the Scallop Oval Punch.  I did use dimensionals to attach the greeting to the card.

Did you notice the final little detail?  I made a little lasso with Linen Thread and a Vintage Trinket brad, isn't it cute? I really like how cute this turned out and it's definitely manly.  This is a fun color combination that I wouldn't have tried before but I may be using it again.

Enjoy and have a great day,

Sketched Frenzy Friday Sketch Challenge: Simple Birthday Greetings

Good morning and it's another Happy Friday!  I'm so happy the snow is gone and we have warmer weather around, let's just hope it's here to stay.  It's Friday, which means it's Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch day and I have a really fun and simple card.  The cardbase is Crumb Cake and I added a layer of Pool Party cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (don't forget this is a Sale-a-Bration exclusive so you only have a couple more weeks to get this folder for FREE).  I used a piece of Soft Suede 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon around the Pool Party piece.  The floral print is from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and I also used it for two of the flag elements, along with a piece of Natural 5/8 Chevron Burlap Ribbon.  This piece is matted on a piece of Real Red cardstock.

The greeting is from the Simply Sketched stamp set, was punched out with the Oval Punch, matted with a piece of Real Red cardstock that was punched with the Scalloped Oval Punch.  Next I added another little strip of DSP from the Fresh Prints DSP stack and the final layer is Crumb Cake cardstock that was punched with the Decorative Label Punch that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  The entire greeting element is attached to the cardfront with dimensionals for added texture.

This is a classic layout that is perfect to either showcase a stamped image or designer series paper and this card could be changed out for any occasion just by changing the greeting. When was the last time you mailed an actual card to someone?  There really is something special to receive a card in the mail that someone took the time to write and mail that really makes you feel special, and a handmade card is even more special.  I'm determined to increase the cards I mail out this year and I challenge you to as well, it's a special treat that really is worth the effort.

Enjoy and I hope you can join s and play along with this sketch.

Happy stamping,

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge: Happy Watercolor

Good morning!  What a crazy start to the week, after snow on Monday I woke up yesterday not feeling well.  I thought I could get up, work out and shake of the yuck feelings I had.  Instead I just kept getting worse and stayed home and preceded to sleep all day (I haven't done that since I can't remember), hopefully I start feeling better soon.  Thankfully I had already made my card for this weeks Fab Friday sketch challenge.  To help shake off the winter blues I decided to make a bright and springy card and the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper was the perfect inspiration for my color selections.  I started with a Smoky Slate cardbase and then added a piece of Watercolor Wonder DSP that was matted on Gumball Green.  For the greeting I used the Happy Watercolor stamp set and used my Stampin' Write Markers to color in the stamp before stamping on Smoky Slate and cut it out with the Big Shot and the Chalk Talk Framelits.  I also added a little bow of Island Indigo Chevron Ribbon as an accent.

For all the little accents I decided to use butterflies and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die was perfect for making lots of little butterflies of different sizes in Smoky Slate, Tangerine Tango, and Daffodil Delight.  The final touch is one of the Mini Metallic clothespins for a whimsical touch.

This card is so bright and cheery, it'll definitely brighten someone's day.  I hope you enjoy!

Happy St. Patrick's Day Birthday Greetings

Good afternoon and Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I have a bonus project to share with you and I had to share it today since it's St. Patrick Day themed.  I have a friend who's mom's birthday is on St. Patrick's Day and she was celebrating a special birthday this weekend and I made a card for the special occasion.  The cardbase is Gumball Green and I added a layer of Whisper White cardstock and used the Big Shot and the Delicate Designers Textured Embossing Folder.  Next I added a piece of Gold Embossed Vellum and added it to the top of the card.  (I know there have been some questions on the best way to adhere this vellum to cardstock so the adhesive doesn't show through and what I found works best is the Mono-Multipurpose Liquid glue, it drys clear and you can add it exactly where you want.  I have some around the edges as well as under each of the gold polka dots).  A piece of Gumball Green 5/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon is the perfect element along the seam of the vellum and the embossing.

To make the shamrock I used the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die and the Big Shot to cut four hearts out for the petals.  For the stem I used the Secret Garden Framelits and the Big Shot to cut out the leaf element, trimmed it down so I just had the straight stem.  The center of the shamrock has a Basic Black circle punched out with the 3/4" Circle Punch and Gold Basic Glitter Brad.  The greeting is from the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set and I used the Heat Tool and the Gold Embossing Powder to emboss on Basic Black cardstock.  I used the Tag Corner Punch (retired) to trim down the greeting and dimensionals were used to attach the greeting to the cardfront.

The great thing about this card is you can use it for a St. Patrick's Day card, birthday or any occasion, and you could change up the colors to make it a flower that could be used all year long.

Enjoy!

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog: Scrapbook Sketch Challenge Double Page Layout Lots of School Fun

Good morning and once again we have another snowy Monday (really, I think we're all more than ready for spring) hopefully this is the last snow of the season.  We had a great weekend, I ran my first half marathon of the season and had a great time and then of course spent the rest of the day, and actually weekend resting and recovering (I actually slept for 10 hours Saturday which is unheard of for me).  Thankfully I'm feeling great today and am looking forward to my next race in a few weeks.  So today over on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog it's the monthly scrapbook sketch layout and this month Jenn created a great two page layout and I decided to use it to showcase some fun pictures from school last year with Aidan (much warmer times). I love being able to create a vehicle to help remember the little elements down the road and this will be great for Aidan to remember the fun memories of school and wonderful friends.

I used My Digital Studio for this layout and put several elements on the page but really let the pictures be the focus.  I also learned how to make an element span the pages in MDS which is really simple and a fun technique.

The supply list for both pages is below:

Scrappy Saturday: Weeks 7 and 8

The weekend has arrived and as you read this I'm standing in my race corral in downtown DC waiting for the Rock and Roll Half Marathon to start.  I've been training for this first race of the season all winter (despite all the snow and crazy cold) and I'm really excited to see the results of all the hardwork, so please wish me luck.  Things were really busy last weekend and while I had a new scrapbook page done I just forgot to share it so this week I'm sharing both pages for this layout together.  This page was from our Thanksgiving visit to PA where we visit our very close friends from college and their families.  This is something we do every year and really look forward to relaxing and having a great time (and the kid's have a great time, which is so fun to see).

I started with a predesigned page layout in My Digital Studio but changed the size from 8x8 pages to 12x12 pages to go along with the rest of my book and then added several elements, text, etc. to personalize it.  I like how this page really reflects the fun we have just hanging out together, we're so thankful for such great friends and family.  Below is the supply lists for both pages.

Are you keeping up with the goals you set at the beginning of the year?  I'm still going strong with my scrapbooking and get so much joy with each page I complete as I remember all the special times and can't wait to share this book for years to come.  There's still plenty of time for you to join me, if it's digital or traditional scrapbooking, it's all about making something for your family to remember for years to come.

Enjoy your weekend and I hope you get to enjoy time with your family as well as have some crafting time.

Sketch Frenzy Friday Sketch Challenge: Best of Greetings

It's Friday and you know what that means?  The weekend is almost here an I'm super excited because I have my first race of the season tomorrow, I've been training hard all winter despite all the crazy cold and snow and tomorrow I'll get to see the results when I run the Rock and Roll Half Marathon in DC, so wish me luck.  Friday's are also exciting since it means another fun sketch challenge over on the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog.  This past weekend we attended a friends wedding and unfortunately I was working on my card at the last minute so I was so excited to use this sketch as the inspiration.  The cardbase is Coastal Cabana and I added a layer of Basic Black cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Quatrafancy Embossing Folder.  The Silver Foil Vellum (using the heart images) is a perfect accent for a wedding card and I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock behind the vellum so it really pops against the black.

For the greeting I used the Best of Greetings Stamp Set (remember you can only purchase the stamp sets in the Best of series through March 31 so make sure to get yours before they're gone).  I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to punch the top of the cardstock and then used my Stampin' Write Markers to color in the greeting to add both colors.  A little piece of Coastal Cabana Stretch Ruffled Ribbon along the bottom helps soften the tag and I used some Smoky Slate Chevron Ribbon and Pool Party Baker's Twine (from the Valentine's Treat Bag kits) decorate the top of the tag.  The final touch was to sponge around the edges of the tag with Smoky Slate ink and dimensionals help the greeting pop off the front of the card.

I really liked how this card turned out and you could definitely change up the colors to go along with the wedding colors.  I also love how there isn't a lot of stamping on the card but there are lots of fun papers and accessories that really help dress up the card and help really elevate it.

We would love for you to join us with this sketch challenge and play along, it's so much fun.

Have a great weekend!

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop: Favorite Springtime Flowers to Help Say Goodbye to Winter

Thank you so much for joining us for our March Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop!  Temperatures are on the rise and there is just one short week until the official first day of Spring!  We are all so ready to put away our snowflakes and break out the flowers in our craft rooms!  Stampin' Up! has so many options for Spring-time flowers and we are showing you just a few of those today!

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 2 on the Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad blog hop – Pam S. of Stampin' in the Sun. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I was really excited when this blog topic was announced since there are so many different flower sets, I can’t wait to see all the great projects the designers are sharing.  I’m not a huge flower person (of course I do have several flower sets) but my favorite set currently is Mixed Bunch.  This set came out last year and while I initially didn’t fall in love with it once I got it I use it regularly, so simple with the matching punches and fun daisy type look.  For my card I started with a cardbase of Crumb Cake and added a piece of DSP from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (these pieces perfectly fit a card front) and overlayed the DSP with a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that I first stamped with the Hardwood stamp and Soft Suede Ink, and then cut it out with the Big Shot and the Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die (a little tip to ensure all your hexagons get cut out, run it through the Big Shot 3 times to guarantee it’ll cut through and make removing all the pieces a breeze.  I added a piece of Natural 5/8” Chevron Ribbon around the center of the card for some added texture.

For the flowers I used So Saffron, Strawberry Slush, and Wisteria Wonder and punched each of the flowers out with the Blossom Punch and used a Bone Folder to curl the flower edges for more dimension.  The centers were punched out with the ¾” Circle Punch.  A Mini Silver Brad was added to the center of each flower and I used a dimensional to attached the flower center so they really pop.  Mono Multi-Purpose glue was used to glue the flowers to the card front (these beauties aren’t going anywhere).  The greeting is from the Lots of Thanks stamp set and is stamped with Soft Suede Ink and Strawberry Slush cardstock and then punched out with the Modern Label Punch and attached with a dimensional and glue dot (I used the glue dot to attach the greeting to the flower piece and then the dimensional on the other side so it sits even.

Of course I decided to make a matching treat (even if there not given together it’s still fun to make coordinating projects) so I used one of the Mini Muslin Bags (I can’t believe I’ve had these for months and this is the first time using them, I love their versatility and how big they are!).  I used the You’re Lovely stamp set (a SAB exclusive) to stamp the little line of images along the bottom of the bag with Strawberry Slush ink (make sure to put a piece of cardboard or cardstock inside the bag before stamping or adding ink to the bag so you don’t get any bleed through).  Then I tied a piece of Wisteria Wonder Chevron Ribbon around the top of the bag for added color and so I had something to tie my tag to.  The tag uses all the same products as the card above but a used a piece of 2013-2015 In Color DSP and the Scallop Tag Topper Punch to make the tag base (these tag topper punches are really the bomb, They make tags and decorative elements so easy and you can make them any size you want, love it!!!)

I love how these projects turned out and may be making them of other occasions, the card would be a beautiful birthday or Mother’s Day card (even Easter) and the bags could be great for Teacher Appreciation, party favors, etc.  I hope you enjoyed these projects and I’ve helped you rediscovered a stamp set that may be in your stash but hasn’t been used much lately, or if you don’t have it make sure to get it!

Fab Friday Color Challenge: Giggle Greetings Birthday Wishes

Good morning and Happy Wednesday!  This week is just flying by, does it feel that way to you? So today is my mom's birthday and I really wanted to make a special card for her to I decided to use this weeks Fab Friday Color Challenge for inspiration.   My mom also has a funny sense of humor and likes to give funny birthday cards so I knew this cat image from the Giggle Greetings stamp set would be perfect.  The cardbase for this card is Strawberry Slush and I added a piece of Basic Black cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Arrows Textured Embossing Folder.  I used the Starburst Framelits and the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper to cut out two different sizes and prints of DSP with the framelits.  I also used some Silver Glimmer Paper and the smallest Starburst framelit for a little bling.

For the greeting I stamped the cat image from the Giggle Greetings stamp set with Basic Black ink and Whisper White cardstock and then used my Blender Pen and different Classic Inks to color in the cat and ball of string.  This layer was matted with Basic Gray cardstock and then I added a strip of Strawberry Slush Stretched Ruffle Ribbon.

I have to say, I absolutely love how fun and cheery this card turned out and I really think mom will like it.  These colors are great so play with them and see what you can come up with, it's fun!

Enjoy your day!

Creative Inspiration: Happy Watercolor

Good morning!  I'm excited to share an extra special bonus card with you today for some added spring inspiration.  There are some beautiful product suites in this years Occasions catalog and the Watercolor Wonder is so bright and cheery, I love it.  This card is actually really simple but is so pretty due to the extra little touches.  I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and added a layer of Whisper White cardstock.  Along the left side I added a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper and some Crisp Cantaloupe Stretched Ruffled Ribbon

On the right side I used the Happy Watercolor stamp set and stamped with the watercolor image along a line with Daffodil Delight, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Garden Green classic ink. The flower image is from the same stamp set and is stamped in Basic Black.  For the greeting I stamped on Smoky Slate cardstock with Garden Green ink and punched it out with the Oval Punch.  This layer is matted on a piece of Island Indigo cardstock that was punched with the Scallop Oval Punch and attached with dimensionals.  The final touches was to add some pearls along the bottom of the greeting and a small butterfly that was embossed and cut with the Big Shot and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die (I folded up the edges of the wings and used a glue dot to attach the butterfly so it has more dimension).

This card is so soft and pretty, I love all the little elements and it's perfect for the springtime weather we are having these next few days.  I really like this product suite and I'll be creating several other projects with these items this month for some added inspiration and to help convince you that these items are "must haves."

Enjoy,

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Card Sketch Challenge: Feels Good

Good morning!  What a wonderful weekend, not only did we have the most beautiful weather we've had in months, including a warm up which I loved, but we also got to spend some quality family time at Aidan's Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet where he passed over to become a Webelo and the kids were so proud of their accomplishments.  I also had a great stamp class this afternoon and actually had a stamping virgin in attendance, which was lots of fun and then capped off the weekend with a very low key wedding for a friend which was really nice.

Today I'm excited to share the card I made for this weeks Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog monthly card sketch challenge.  In honor of upcoming arrival of spring I decided to do a springy card that used the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper (a FREE Sale-a-Bration item) as the color inspiration and flipped the sketch on it's side for a little change up.  The cardbase is Pool Party and I added a piece of the DSP that was matted with Basic Black Cardstock.

For the main stamped image I used the  Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to make the tag with Sahara Sand cardstock and used the sentiment from the Feels Good stamp set and my Stampin' Write Markers to color on the stamp.  It's hard to tell but I also stamped the top right corner with the circle image from the Petal Parade Stamp set in Sahara Sand ink for a little extra detail.  I wanted to have a mat for my stamped layer so I took a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and hand cut the scallop top to match.  The final touch was to add a piece of Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon through the tag hole.  I'm loving how warm and cheery this card is, it would really brighten up someones day.  I'm a big believer to the power of receiving a handmade and written card and have been working hard this year to actually send out more of my cards to help spread the sunshine, I love it!

Hope this card has provided you a little inspiration and enjoy the creative process, no matter what you choose to do.

Sketch Frenzy Friday Sketch Challenge: Petite Petals Get Well Greetings

It's that time of week again, Friday has arrived and we're just a few short hours from the start of the weekend.  We have another jam packed weekend but I'm looking forward to a little girl time, family time, and of course stamping, perfect.  Today I'm sharing the card I made for this weeks Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge.  I really enjoyed this weeks sketch since it was nice and simple and lends itself to so many options.  Since we're in the last month of Sale-a-Bration I decided to showcase a couple of the fabulous products that you can earn for FREE with qualifying orders.  For this card I started with a cardbase of Basic Black and I added a layer of Sahara Sand cardstock.  Some Summer Starfruit Baker's Twine (from the SAB Sweet Sorbet Accessories pack was added along the left side).

I used the Petite Petals and matching Petite Petals Punch was used for the three flowers and I stamped them in Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Pistachio Pudding ink. After punching out the flowers I curled the petals with a Bone Folder and then attached the flowers to the cardfront using a glue dot.  I used the line of flowers stamp from the You're Lovely stamp set (another SAB reward item) and stamped in Basic Black below the flowers and added a small pearl to each of the flower centers.  The final touch was to add the greeting in the bottom right corner, I used the Express Yourself stamp set and Summer Starfruit ink for the perfect ending.

This card is so simple but pretty it's wonderful and definitely mailable which the post office will appreciate.  You could also change this card but just swapping out the greeting or colors which I love.  We would love for you to play along with us on this sketch challenge, so get creative and share your wonderful projects, it's a great activity for the weekend.

Take care and happy stamping,

Diana

Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge: Petal Parade

Good morning and Happy Wednesday!  Well we survived our latest snow storm and thankfully the kiddos are heading back to school so things can start to get back to normal, I know we're all thinking this but it really is time for spring.  Today I decided to play along with the Create with Connie and Mary Color challenge and had a lot of fun with this light and springy colors.  I started by using Pistachio Pudding for the cardbase and then I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The DSP is also Pistachio Pudding from the 2013-2015 In Colors Designer Series Paper Stack and I wrapped some gold stretchy twine around the card, I got the twine from the Good as Gold Card Kit from this year's Sale-a-Bration rewards.

The stamped flower is from the Petal Parade stamp set (also a SAB freebie) and it was stamped with Summer Starfruit ink on Whisper White cardstock before being cut out with Paper Snips.  I added a flower that was cut out of Basic Black cardstock with the Blossom Punch (I used Paper Snips to cut slits in each of the flower petals for more texture (hard to see here in the photo) and attached the flower to the card with a dimensional.  For the greeting I started with one of the flag pieces from the same Good as Gold Card Kit as the gold twine (I used one of the pieces that had the greeting written in another language and just covered it up with my stamped greeting so I still had the detail on the flag.  The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and was stamped with Basic Black ink on Summer Starfruit cardstock before punching it out with the Modern Label Punch.  The final touch was to add a piece of Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon as another flag element along with the greeting.

This card was so fun to make and I enjoyed using elements from the card kits on this card to really extend the usefulness of these kits (I hate to throw anything away).  I hope you enjoyed today's card and this color combination, it's fun to play with new ideas to see where they take you.

Have a great day and happy stamping,

Diana

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge: You're Lovely

Good morning!  Well it's another Monday, which means we have another winter storm we're dealing with, I must admit, I'm really ready for spring.   At least we can get some feelings of spring with this month's Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog color challenge, I love these bright and cheery colors.  The cardbase is Rose Red and I added a layer of  Perfect Plum and then Whisper White.  The white layer is embossed with the Big Shot and the Needlepoint Border Textured Embossing Folder.  I also added a piece of Marina Mist DSP from the Perfect Polka Dot Designer Series Paper package.  I used a piece of Silver Ribbon to cover the edge of the DSP.

For the stamped greeting I used the You're Lovely stamp set (this is one of the FREE items you can selected through the end of the month during Sale-a-Bration).  I inked the image up twice, one in Rose Red and cut it out with the Big Shot and the Deco Label Framelits.  I stamped it again after coloring in the image with Stampin' Write Markers and punched out the circle with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch and then used markers to color in the flowers.  To create a mat for the image I cut a frame with Perfect Plum cardstock and the Deco Labels Framelits before embossing it with the Fancy Fan Embossing folder.  I used dimensionals to attach the greeting to the card for added texture.

I really had a lot of fun with this color challenge and we would love for you to come and join us, it'll help you get out of the winter blues and remember spring really is just around the corner.

Happy stamping,

Diana

Good evening!  I love how are weekends are always full of lots of fun activities and family time, it's really a lot of fun.  So I'm continuing to work on my 2013 photobook but I didn't share this weeks page since I was participating in a special blog hop yesterday.  So this weeks page was made using the pictures from Aidan's trip to my mom's house this past summer.  I love that for the past two years Aidan's been able to spend a couple of weeks out in Washington State visiting his grandparents, great grandparents, cousins, etc. it's a great time and really enjoys see family that he doesn't get to see regularly.  For this page I kept it nice and simple and use a predesigned template in My Digital Studio. All I had to do was add the photos, text, and embellishments and I was all set.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop: Occasions Card Swap Samples, Perfect Pennant

This past month, many of the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration designers participated in an Occasions Catalog Card Swap. Instead of keeping all of these beautiful card samples to ourselves, we wanted to share them with you, too! Today's blog hop will spotlight a handful of Stampin' Up's Occasions Catalog products as each of us who participated chose a different stamp set to showcase.

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog...and be sure to pin it, too! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 7 on the SSINK Occasions Catalog Blog Hop – Cynthia R. of Ink-a-Doodle Creations . If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below. And, be sure to come visit us at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration where we 'inkspire' you 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year!

There were so many stamp sets in the Occasions catalog that I immediately fell in love with and the Perfect Pennants stamp set was right up there, and the fact that there are matching framelits make them truly awesome!  I started with Gumball Green for the cardbase and then I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed with the Big Shot and Hexagon Embossing Folder.  The designer series paper is Birthday Basics and I used a couple of different patterns and different sized framelits for the flags.

The stamped image was stamped in Bermuda Bay cardstock and I used the smallest Banner Framelit to cut it out.  The ribbon is Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon and the final touch was a little heart cut with the Small Heart Punch and the Silver Glimmer Paper.

This card turned out so cute and was super simple to make and all you need to do is change the colors and designer series paper to meet any theme or personal preferences.  I hope you enjoyed and make sure to continue along the hop to see all the other great cards.  Next up is Donna S. and you can click the "next" button below to move along the hop.
