Proverbial Stampers Color Challenge: Birthday Delivery Disney Style!

Good morning!  It's taking a little to get back into our usual routine after vacation but I have a dear friend with a sweat daughter who's birthday is this week and she's an even bigger Disney fan than I am (if that's possible) so I wanted to send her a special card and decided to use the Proverbial Stampers color challenge as inspiration (along with Minnie of course!).

I started with Pool Party cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Berry Burst cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Sparkle Embossing Folder.  Now you know I'm not great a punch art but a Mickey head is easy to make with some Basic Black cardstock and circle punches (I used 2 1/4" and 1" Circle Punches).  I wanted to make this a Minnie so I added a bow tied with Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double Stitched Ribbon for the perfect bow.

The greeting is from the Birthday Delivery stamp set and after using Stampin' Write Markers to color in the greeting and stamping on Whisper White cardstock I used the Big Shot and Lots of Labels Framelits to cut the greeting out and then trimmed it down on one side with my paper cutter.  Dimensionals  were used to attach the greeting so it pops off the card.

This card is bright, cheery, and lots of fun, just like the birthday girl herself.  And let's be honest, who doesn't smile when they think of Disney?  I'm sure she will love it!

SSINKspiration Stamp Set Focus: Tabs for Everything

Good morning!  It's back to reality after our amazing vacation and it's also the first day of school (I don't know how summer as ended all ready).  Today the SSINKspiration designers are sharing projects made using the Tabs for Everything stamp set so I decided to use it for the card I make for Aidan every year for the first day of school to wish him luck (I know I'm a little crazy!)  I decided to keep it nice and simple since he's getting older and used his school colors for a little fun.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and ten added a layer of Emerald Envy cardstock behind the Whisper White cardfront.  I stamped the square striped image along the left side of the card and then used different sayings to help inspire him followed by some stars (perfect for the dude card!)  The final touch was a piece of Pacific Point 1/4" Stitched-Edge Ribbon to dress it up a little.

This card is simple and fun and will hopefully inspire him to a great year, I can't wait to see what he will achieve, it's so exciting.

SSINKspiration Wedding Wishes: Special Celebrations

Happy Friday!  We're having an amazing vacation and can't believe it's coming to an end, looking forwarding to our last relaxing day at sea today before the adventure home begins.  Today the SSINKspiration designers are using weddings for our inspiration and sharing cards we can use to wish the happy couple years of happiness.

I started with Whisper White thick cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Basic Black cardstock as the mat for a piece of Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper (I used the Berry Burst floral print that is so pretty).  Before attaching the layers I wrapped a piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.

For the main image I used the new Special Celebrations stamp set (this set is great since it has coordinating greetings for both the outside and inside of cards for several occasions).  I stamped the greeting in Berry Burst in on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Lots of Labels Framelits and then sponged around the edge with Basic Black ink.  To dress the card up a little more I added a Silver Metallic Foil Doily and a piece of a Delicate White Doily at the bottom of the greeting and attached the whole piece to the cardfront with dimensionals.

The flowers, foil and delicate doilies all help with the soft feel of this card, it's very soothing.  You could make multiples of these up in several different colors to be ready for any need or make one specific to the couples wedding colors for a custom feel.

Cozy Carols of Christmas Wishes

Happy Wednesday!  Just a little over a week before the Holiday catalog is officially released (you should be receiving it in your mailbox soon if not already and I'm sure you will love it as much as I do).  Today I'm sharing another card using the new Carols of Christmas bundle that while in the Holiday catalog it's been released early and you can order it now and get started on all those holiday cards!

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a layer of Garden Green cardstock as a mat for the Cherry Cobbler cardfront.  The Cherry Cobbler piece was embossed with the Big Shot and the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder (this sweater pattern screams winter!)

Next I used the Carols of Christmas stamp set and used Stampin' Write markers to color in the greeting before stamping on Whisper White cardstock.  The greeting piece was matted with Early Espresso cardstock before being attached with dimensionals.  I cut the cute trees with the coordinating Card Front Builder Thinlits using Garden Green cardstock and then added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter for snow.

The final touch, a little holly that was stamped and then cut out with the thinlits.  I added three small pearls to the center of the holly.  To color the holly I used a red Sharpie and then went over it lightly with a Copper Sharpie to make it match closer to the Cherry Cobbler color (worked great!)

This is another nice and flat card that has a lot of elements to dress it up but is mailable to help the post office.  And that sweater embossing, makes you just want to touch it (love it!!)

Masculine Monday: One Wilde Ride

Happy Monday!  We're having a great time and I can't get over how beautiful and full of history everything thing is.  Today I decided to have a little Masculine Monday fun and use up some scrap pieces I had on my desk for this fun birthday card.  Dude cards tend to be a little more difficult but since I'm in a house full of guys I've embraced them.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a layer of Basic Black behind the Cajun Craze cardfront.  The cardfront was embossed with the Big Shot and Sparkle Embossing Folder.  Next I added a strip of Silver Foil that was embossed with the Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder for that diamond plate look.

The stamped images are from the One Wild Ride stamp set and I used Whisper White, Island Indigo, and Crumb Cake for the different pieces.  I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out the bottom greeting and dimensionals were used for both greeting pieces.

This stamp set as some great images that make for a fun card that definitely carries the "dude" vibe.
