Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Card Sketch Challenge: Feels Good

Good morning!  What a wonderful weekend, not only did we have the most beautiful weather we've had in months, including a warm up which I loved, but we also got to spend some quality family time at Aidan's Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet where he passed over to become a Webelo and the kids were so proud of their accomplishments.  I also had a great stamp class this afternoon and actually had a stamping virgin in attendance, which was lots of fun and then capped off the weekend with a very low key wedding for a friend which was really nice.

Today I'm excited to share the card I made for this weeks Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog monthly card sketch challenge.  In honor of upcoming arrival of spring I decided to do a springy card that used the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper (a FREE Sale-a-Bration item) as the color inspiration and flipped the sketch on it's side for a little change up.  The cardbase is Pool Party and I added a piece of the DSP that was matted with Basic Black Cardstock.

For the main stamped image I used the  Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to make the tag with Sahara Sand cardstock and used the sentiment from the Feels Good stamp set and my Stampin' Write Markers to color on the stamp.  It's hard to tell but I also stamped the top right corner with the circle image from the Petal Parade Stamp set in Sahara Sand ink for a little extra detail.  I wanted to have a mat for my stamped layer so I took a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and hand cut the scallop top to match.  The final touch was to add a piece of Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon through the tag hole.  I'm loving how warm and cheery this card is, it would really brighten up someones day.  I'm a big believer to the power of receiving a handmade and written card and have been working hard this year to actually send out more of my cards to help spread the sunshine, I love it!

Hope this card has provided you a little inspiration and enjoy the creative process, no matter what you choose to do.
