Proverbial Stampers Color Challenge Meet SSINKspiration Retiring Products: Banner Greetings

Good morning!  So the rain continues here in VA (at least the grass and flowers are certainly enjoying all this water).  I decided I needed to add a little cheer so I decided to use the Proverbial Stampers May Color challenge along with the SSINKspiration blog retiring products to share some great retiring products that I'm going to miss going forward.

I stared with Wisteria Wonder cardstock or the cardbase and then added layers of Whisper White cardstock and then a piece of designer series paper from the Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack (retiring).  To overlay the DSP I took a piece of Soft Suede cardstock and cut it out using the Big Shot and Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die (retiring) and then stamped all over it with the script image from The Open Sea (retiring) stamp set using Soft Suede ink.

I decided to add a couple banners that were cut with the Big Shot and Banners Framelits, one using Wisteria Wonder cardstock which was embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and a second that had the greeting using the Perfect Pennants (retiring) stamp set that was inked up using Stampin' Write Markers and attached to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final touch was to add a double bow that I tied using Whisper White Baker's Twine.

I had so much fun making this card and both of these stamps sets I've had so much fun with and will definitely be keeping around for future projects.  Make sure to check out the SSINKspiration blog for other ideas the design team is sharing using their favorite retiring products, you'll have fun!

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge SSINKCC23: Perfect Pennants

Good morning!  Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, in this case the fun holiday weekend, which means it's back to work.  It's the second Monday of the month, which means it's time for this months color challenge over on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog.  We were given some great colors this month to play with and the designers have come up with some great cards.  I seem to have pennants on the brain, not only did I use the Perfect Pennants stamp set but I used several pennants in my layout (this definitely seems to be a favorite element on projects).

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then I added a piece of Watermelon Wonder cardstock that I embossed with the Big Shot and Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  Next I added a pennant with Bermuda Bay stripes from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack and used the Banner Triple Punch to punch the bottom.  Next I added a pennant using the 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon.

For the greeting I used the Perfect Pennants stamp set and used Stampin' Write Markers to ink the stamp and then stamped on Whisper White cardstock.  I use the same Banner Triple Punch to cut the tails on this layer as well.  I attached all the pennants to the cardfront with the Mini Stapler.  The final touch is a double bow I tied using the Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine and attached to the cardfront with a glue dot.

I know this is a classic layout but it works for so many things, I love it!  Make sure to check out the other design team cards for inspiration and then play along with the sketch and share your creation.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop: Occasions Card Swap Samples, Perfect Pennant

This past month, many of the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration designers participated in an Occasions Catalog Card Swap. Instead of keeping all of these beautiful card samples to ourselves, we wanted to share them with you, too! Today's blog hop will spotlight a handful of Stampin' Up's Occasions Catalog products as each of us who participated chose a different stamp set to showcase.

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog...and be sure to pin it, too! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 7 on the SSINK Occasions Catalog Blog Hop – Cynthia R. of Ink-a-Doodle Creations . If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below. And, be sure to come visit us at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration where we 'inkspire' you 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year!

There were so many stamp sets in the Occasions catalog that I immediately fell in love with and the Perfect Pennants stamp set was right up there, and the fact that there are matching framelits make them truly awesome!  I started with Gumball Green for the cardbase and then I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed with the Big Shot and Hexagon Embossing Folder.  The designer series paper is Birthday Basics and I used a couple of different patterns and different sized framelits for the flags.

The stamped image was stamped in Bermuda Bay cardstock and I used the smallest Banner Framelit to cut it out.  The ribbon is Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon and the final touch was a little heart cut with the Small Heart Punch and the Silver Glimmer Paper.

This card turned out so cute and was super simple to make and all you need to do is change the colors and designer series paper to meet any theme or personal preferences.  I hope you enjoyed and make sure to continue along the hop to see all the other great cards.  Next up is Donna S. and you can click the "next" button below to move along the hop.

Proverbial Stampers Sketch Challenge: Perfect Pennants

Good morning!  We're starting the last week in January, so crazy.  I'm also excited since it looks like we may be getting some warmer weather in the area and I can't wait to begin thawing out.  We were very busy this weekend and were able to get a lot done including a fun kid's valentine class where they got to make all the valentine's for their class (so fun!) and I also got to spend some time in the studio and was working on making birthday cards for all our February birthdays and had lots of fun.  Today I'm sharing the card for this month's Proverbial Stampers Sketch Challenge.  This card has a Pool Party cardbase and then I added a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock.  I cut a circle out of Pear Pizzaz cardstock with the Big Shot and the Circle Collection Framelits and then embossed it with the Hexagon Textured Embossing Folder.  I added a strip of  Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper and matted it with Wisteria Wonder cardstock that was punched with the Scallop Border Punch

The greeting is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set and I used Stampin' Write Markers to color in the stamp and then cut it out with the Pennant Framelits and the Big Shot.  I used dimensionals to attach the greeting to the cardfront.  The final touch was to a bow using the Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon

The Perfect Pennant stamp set has to be one of my most favorite sets in the Occasions catalog (at least so far!) and the fact that there are matching framelits are the bomb!  You won't regret buying these items and right now you can earn FREE Sale-a-bration items for every $50 you spend so now is the time.

Enjoy and have a great week!

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge: Perfect Pennants a Mixture of Old and New

Good morning!  Unfortunately our holiday vacation has come to an end and today we're heading back to school and work (cue sad music).  We had a wonderful time and always hate for our vacations to end.  With our crazy, travel filled vacation I haven't had much crafting time over the past week and a half so I'm looking forward to getting back into the studio for some quality time.

I did have a few moments and I whipped up with fun and fresh card for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.  This card is a mix of fun items from the current catalog as well as a sneak peak of a fun new stamp set from the Occasions Catalog that is being released tomorrow (so exciting!)  For this card I decided to go with a square card and the cardbase is Strawberry Slush and then I added a layer of  Soft Suede that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.  The designer series paper is from the Festive Prints DSP package and is in the Holiday catalog so today is the last day to order (love how you can use this paper for non-holiday projects) and is matted on a piece of Pistachio Pudding cardstock.  The ribbon is Strawberry Slush Ruffled Ribbon.

For the main stamped image first I stamped the swirl images from the Everything Eleanor stamp set in Crumb Cake ink and the greeting is from the new Perfect Pennants stamp set and was stamped in Strawberry Slush Classic Ink.  I matted this layer on Strawberry Slush cardstock before attaching it to the card.  For the final decorative elements I added a Pistachio Pudding In Color Boutique Details and used the Tape It stamp set to make the Washi Tape element (it was stamped on Crumb Cake ink with Soft Suede ink before being cut out with Paper Snips).  I attached this element with dimensionals and added a couple of small pearls for the final touch.

I so love mixing the old and new items in this card and am glad I have these products in my stamp studio so I can continue to use them, if you don't have anything from the Holiday Catalog that you love don't miss out and place your order today so you'll have everything you need for your upcoming projects.

Good luck today!
