Fab Friday Sketch Challenge #FabFri183: Perfectly Framed

Good morning!

When I saw this years Sale-a-bration catalog the very first item that caught my eye was the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper, it is truly stunning!  I've decided to focus this week on this amazing designer series paper, as well as the other coordinating products and started out playing along with this weeks Fab Friday sketch challenge.  For this card I decided to keep it nice and simple and let the DSP be the star of the show.

I started with Grapefruit Grove cardstock for the cardbase and then used Blackberry Bliss cardstock as a mat for the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper which is the cardfront.

Next I took another pattern from the DSP pack and cut a circle using the Stitched Shapes Dies.  The greeting is from the Perfectly Framed stamp set and was stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink on Whisper White cardstock before cutting it out with the Ornate Frames Dies (I was so happy to see these dies carryover from the Holiday Catalog).  I used the same dies to cut out a frame for the greeting using Garden Green carstock and used dimensionals to attach the greeting to the card.  The final touch is a double bow I tied using Linen Thread.

When the paper is so beautiful you don't need lots of fuss and I love the bright, cheery colors and patterns, perfect for sending everyday!

Fab Friday Color Challenge #FabFri180: Heartfelt

Good morning!

I'm having so much fun playing along with items in the From the Heart Suite (they are so much fun!) so I decided to continue to the love of this suite with this weeks Fab Friday color challenge to give a little different feel.

I started with Highland Heather cardstock for the cardbase and then added Basic Black behind the Whisper White cardfront.  On this layer I stamped the row of hearts along the left side using the Forever Lovely stamp set and Highland Heather and Poppy Parade ink.

Next I used the Stitched Shapes dies to cut a circle out of Rococo Rose cardstock from the 2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper and layered it under hearts that were stamped using the Heartfelt stamp set and punched out and attached with dimensionals.  As you know I always like a little bling so for this card I added some of the From the Heart Faceted Gems as well as some Basic Black 5/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon.

You need Valentine's cards for friends as well as family and this one is perfect and I already know who will be receiving this card!

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge #FabFri177: Tropical Chic (30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 29)

Good morning!

Hopefully you have survived all the Thanksgiving fun and carb coma and are now relaxing (or maybe shopping!)  I was out last night and early this morning working helping cross those items off the Christmas gift list and plan on spending the day relaxing.  We have just a couple more days left in the month and a couple more cards in this years gratitude challenge.  Today I decided to play along with the Fab Friday sketch challenge for this pretty all occasion card.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then used Night of Navy cardstock to mat a piece of Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper.

For the greeting I used the Tropical Chic stamp set and stamped in Night of Navy ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock before fussy cutting it out with Paper Snips and attaching it with Mini Dimensionals.  As a final element on the card I took a piece of Gold 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon and colored it with a Rococo Rose Dark Stampin' Blends Marker and then tied a bow with the twine from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.

I can't get over how beautiful this DSP is, very realistic and the burlap background add some additional texture.

30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 13 (Fab Friday Color Challenge)

Good morning!

We've reached the midpoint of the week, Aidan is trying out for the school swim team so we're swimming every night at different times and different pools so it's definitely been an adventure but he's having a lot of fun.  It's also fun seeing so many friends from summer swim and catching up.  It has however meant I've had a little less time in the studio this week but I wanted to play along with this weeks Fab Friday Color Challenge for today's gratitude challenge.  Now I'll admit this color combo threw me off a little so I decided to play around with several stamps and see what I could build.

The cardbase is Whisper White Thick cardstock and then I added a piece of Pretty Peacock  cardstock cardfront.  On this piece I started by stamping with the Birch stamp set in Blushing Bride ink and then sponged around the edges with Soft Suede ink. Next I used the Swirly Frames set and stamped the large circle in Pretty Peacock ink before embossing it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder (I embossed it twice, once in each direction for a little extra texture).

Next I took a piece of the 2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper in Terracotta Tile and matted it with Crushed Curry cardstock.  For the greeting I cut a circle out of Soft Suede cardstock with the Layering Circles Dies and then stamped the smaller circle in Crushed Curry ink on Crushed Curry cardstock.  The greeting is from the Here's a Card stamp set and was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink on Whisper White cardstock and then sponged around the edges with Soft Suede ink.  I used dimensionals to pop several of the greeting layers up and finished the card with some Terracotta Tile 1/2" Scalloped Linen Ribbon.

I like all the layers and texture this card has, nice and simple but still unique.
