SSINKspiration Holiday Catalog Preview: Cauldron Bubble

Good morning!  The holiday weekend is here (well in a few short hours) and it's the end of August which means it's almost time for the release of the 2018 Holiday Catalog.  This time of year is so exciting and I can guarantee you there is so much to love in this catalog (but your wallet may become a little sad).  Today the SSINKspiration team are giving you a sneak peak of some of the great new products that you'll be able to purchase starting on September 5.

I always tend to start with Halloween projects when I see the Holiday catalog (I think it's because it's the first holiday we will see and even though it's hot I don't feel too odd making them during this summer heat) and today's card is the one I made for a group swap I'm in (I hope all the ladies enjoy it!)

For this card I started with Crushed Curry cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Maps Etc. Embossing Folder along the left side and a piece of Whisper White on the right side.  A piece of Toil and Trouble Designer Series Paper is the perfect accent along the seam.

Next I took the Cauldron Bubble stamp set and stamped the cauldron and bubbles in Memento Black ink before coloring it in with my Stampin' Blends markers (there are six new colors of Stampin' Blends in the Holiday catalog, you will want to add them to your collection!).  I stamped the cute little cat on another piece of Whisper White cardstock and after coloring it I cut it out with the Big Shot and the Cauldron Framelits (your able to get the framelits and Cauldron Bubble stamp set as a bundle and save 10% on both) and then attached the cat to the cardfront with dimensionals.

To finish off the card I stamped the greeting in Basic Black ink and then added a spider web I cut out of Basic Black cardstock with the same framelit set and added a few Rhinestones to look like dew on the web.

I love all the new Halloween products in the Toil and Trouble product suite helps make so many great fun and spooky Halloween projects in a breeze!  Also, the framelits cut out several of the images in the designer series paper you will want both in your collection!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge 297: Colorful Seasons

Good morning!  It's that time of year and the kiddos have started back to school and we are back from our magical Disney vacation (loved every minute!)  Today we have a fun new Inspiration Challenge over on the Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I'll admit I was a little thrown off when I saw the images in this inspiration challenge since I don't have a lot of stamp sets with animals but then I noticed all of the fun tropical images and immediately thought of the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (not only does it have tropical prints but even a couple animal inspired one's) and with that I was off.

I used Granny Apple Green cardstock for the cardbase and then used Shade Spruce cardstock as the mat for the  Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper for the cardfront.  Next I added another print of the DSP that reminds me of zebra print and matted it with Granny Apple Green cardstock.

For the greeting I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set and stamped the words in Shaded Spruce ink and then stamped the flower image in Granny Apple Green (stamped off once) and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I cut out a mat using Basic Black cardstock and the Layering Circles Framelits and attached the stamped piece to the cardfront with dimensionals.  I finished off the card by adding a bow tied with Lemon Lime Twist 1/4" Ombre Ribbon.

This inspiration challenge has some great options and I really like the fun feel of this card, even without cute little animals.  Go check out the other cards the design team is sharing and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create!

SSINKspiration Favorite DSP (Annual Catalog): Bokeh Dots

Happy FriYAY! How is it possible for this week to go so quickly, guess it’s all the fun we’re having!  We’re heading to the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tonight and I can’t wait to start getting in the seasonal mood, Disney-style!  Before we get started with all of that fun, I’m playing along with the SSINKspiration team who is sharing our favorite Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog.  This years catalog has lots of great paper but I think the one that is my absolute favorite is the Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper.  Not only does it have some wonderful birthday images but I’m blown away with all the fabulous foil prints (yep, me and that bling again!!)  It really is a great way to dress up a project with not a lot of word.

I started with Merry Merlot cardstock for the cardbase (it’s my first time using this color and love it’s rich intensity) and then took a piece of the foiled Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper and used it for the cardfront.  Next I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped using the Bokeh Dots stamp set using Merry Merlot ink and trimmed it down.  I stamped the greeting which is from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set and stamped it in Basic Black ink.  To finish off the card I matted the greeting with both Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock layers.

This card doesn’t have any embellishments or accents, it just let’s the stamping and the foil DSP take center stage, and it really works!  Plus, honestly when you’re talking about how fabulous someone is don’t they deserve foil and bling??  Hope you’ve enjoyed the cards I’ve shared this week using the Bokeh Dots stamp set and don’t forget to order by this Sunday to take advantage of my special of the week!

Beachside Greetings: Bokeh Dots

Good morning!  Are you having fun with all these cards using the Bokeh Dots stamp set?  It’s a great foundation stamp that works with so many things.  Today I’m sharing another quick card (are you noticing a theme?  While on vacation, simplicity is key!!)  Just like the card the other day I added a second color of ink with a Sponge Dauber randomly that create a fun color effect.

I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then Pacific Point as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  The Bokeh Dots stamped piece uses Pool Party and Pacific Point ink and it was stamped directly on the cardfront.

Next I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set for the greeting was stamped in Basic Black ink.  For the fun beach chair I used the Big Shot and the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to cut the chair out of Basic Black cardstock.

This card definitely makes me think of the sea and beach and relaxing with my toes in the sand!

Quick and Easy Birthday Greetings: Bokeh Dots

Good morning!  We’re have a great time at Disney (I’m sure that’s no surprise as it is the most magical place in the world!!) but I wanted to drop in to share another quick card using the Bokeh Dots stamp set which is my featured Product of the Week.  We made this card at a recent birthday card class and I love it’s simplicity, which a hint of bling!

I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock as a mat for the Whisper white cardfront.  On the cardfront I stamped the Bokeh Dots stamp set in Smoky Slate ink to help anchor my dragonfly.  The dragonfly was cut out using the Big Shot and Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits along with a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  After cutting it out I sponged the dragonfly with Tranquil Tide ink and then attached it to the cardfront using Tombo Liquid Glue and only applying it to the body of the dragonfly so the wings have movement.

To finish off the card I added the greeting which is from the 25 Again stamp set and it was stamped in Tranquil Tide ink.

I love the simplicity of this card and the glimmer paper just adds an elegant touch, and of course this is a very mailable card, perfect to send birthday greetings!
