SSINKspiration Punch Art: Snow is Glistening

Good morning!  So excited for the arrival of this weekend as I have lots of holiday fun planned.  Today the SSINKspiration team is sharing projects using punch art.  Now I  know we've discussed this before and while there are some amazing punch art creators I do not seem to have that gift so I was a little stumped on today's topic and then decided to think simple, let some beautiful paper be the showcase and create a "tree" out of punched circles and die cut snowflakes.  I also thought this would be a great way to provide one last showcase for the Catch a Snowflake promotion items as today is the last day you can order them (and trust me you will want these items in your crafting toolbox for sure!)

For this card I used Gray Granite cardstock for the cardbase and then used Shaded Spruce as a mat for the Gray Granite cardfront.  On the cardfront I used the Snow is Glistening stamp set to stamp the dots all over the background.  Then I used the Joyous Noel Speciality Designer Series Paper and coordinating Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper to punch and cut the snowflakes (the Snowfall Thinlits were used for the snowflakes).  I did also use some of the White Velveteen Paper for the bottom left snowflake, now I know some of this paper has sold out but you can use this same idea with any of our fabulous papers for a great look.

To finish off the card I stamped the greeting in Merry Merlot ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits and then lightly sponged around the edges with Bright Copper Shimmer Paper before attaching it to the cardfront with dimensionals.

This is a unique looking tree I'll say but all the glitter and copper accents make it really pretty so I'm happy with it.  This is also a great way to use up scraps of paper you may have, I always hate to throw things away but you can't always keep every little piece around the house.

SSINKspiration Gratitude: All Things Thanks

Good afternoon!  Sending holiday cards are on a lot of peoples list to do but how many of you send holiday themed thank you's?  This time of year is huge for gift giving and receiving so it's only fitting that you also have holiday themed thank you notes ready to go to share your appreciation.  Today the
SSINKspiration team is sharing gratitude cards so of course I decided to share one of my holiday themed cards I will being sending out this year.

I started with Very Vanilla Think cardstock for the cardbase and then added a layer of Cherry Cobbler cardstock as a mat for the Very Vanilla cardfront (which was stamped with the Sheet Music stamp set and Mossy Meadow ink and then sponged around the edges with Crumb Cake ink).  Then I added a piece of designer series paper from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper pack.

For the greeting I used the All Things Thanks stamp set and stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Before attaching the greeting to the cardfront with dimensionals I added a piece of 5/8" Striped Burlap Trim (love the texture of this!) so it peaks out from the circle.

This card screams holidays and perfect for letting someone know you appreciate their thoughtfulness.  The great thing about handmaking your cards (on top of adding that extra special touch) is that you can use the same design and elements and just change the greeting for a perfectly coordinated look.

SSINKspiration Favorite Holiday Catalog Bundle: Alpine Adventures

Good evening!  Did you have any enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday with friends and family?  We had a wonderful time but we're happy to be home to rest a little before the start of the new week.  The SSINKspiration team is sharing cards using their favorite holiday catalog bundles and one that I absolutely fell in love with, but hasn't used as much as I want is the Alpine Adventures stamp set and coordinating framelits.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of designer series paper from the Under the Mistletoe DSP.  Next I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and embossed it with the Big Shot and Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder and then sponged all over with Soft Suede ink to really highlight the embossed image.

Next I used the Big Shot and Alpine Framelits to cut this gorgeous sleigh out of with Wood Texture Designer Series Paper (I added Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet behind the wood DSP before cutting it so the sleigh was fully covered with adhesive and easy to attach to the card.  I used the Alpine Adventures stamp set to stamp the wreath for the sleigh and cut it out with framelits and finished it off with some Garden Green and Whisper White Baker's Twine.

The final touch on the card is the greeting, which uses the same stamp set and it was stamped in Early Espresso ink on Pool Party cardstock and cut out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes framelits.

This card just screams Christmas and makes me look forward to snowy days and adventures to come.  Make sure to check out the other design team cards for inspiration for you holiday project needs.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge 303: Snow is Glistening

Good morning!  I think we can safely say the holidays have arrived (I've already started my Black Friday shopping, love online ordering, haha!) so it's perfect fitting for this weeks inspiration challenge over on the
Hand Stamped Sentiments blog.  I love this inspiration challenge as there are lots of colors and images that you can pick from, of course I decided to go with snow and use the products from the Catch a Snowflake Promotion (we only have a week and a half to purchase these items).

I started with Balmy Blue cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  On the cardfront I spritzed it with water and then added some blue Brusho Crystal Color and then spritzed again until I got the color saturation I was looking for.  Once the cardstock was dry I used the Snow is Glistening stamp set and stamped the smallest snowflakes around the edges of the brusho using Balmy Blue ink.

Next I used the Snowfall Thinlits and the Big Shot to cut some snowflakes out of Silver Glimmer Paper and used Vellum Cardstock for the large swirly die (a little hard to see in the picture).

The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink on Balmy Blue cardstock and then cut out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I used dimensionals to attach the greeting and then added a few rhinestones on the bottom for a final frosty bling.

This card is perfect to get you in the holiday spirit (if your not already) and come on glitter and rhinestones, it's my version of perfection!  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and we would love for you to play along with us and share your creation.
