SSINKspiration Candy and Treats: Cauldron Bubble

Happy Halloween!  It's hard to think about Halloween and not think of candy (come on, let's be honest!!) and the SSINKspiration team is sharing candy and treat ideas, perfect for this holiday.  I decided to make a fun little treat box using the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes filled with yummy candy pumpkins.

To decorate the box I wrapped a piece of Toil and Trouble Designer Series Paper around the box and then tied a piece of Black 5/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the center.  To dress it up even more I attached a spider trinket by tying it on with some Basic Black Baker's Twine.

On the top of the box I cut a couple of circles using Black Foil Paper and Gorgeous Grape cardstock.  The greeting is from the Cauldron Bubble stamp set and was stamped in Basic Black ink.  This fun hat is actually one of the prints in the designer series paper and used the coordinating Cauldron Framelits and Big Shot to cut it out (easy, peasy no coloring required).  A dimensional was used to attach the witches at to finish off the card.

This is such a fun and easy treat, and I like that the candy can be seen as it makes it even more festive.  Are you ready to hand out lots of candy to all the little ghosts and princesses?  We can't wait!!

Snowflake Showcase Blog Hop

Good evening!  Even though it's Halloween week it's never too early to think about Christmas (will be here in a flash) and Stampin' Up! is releasing some limited time items starting November 1 to help you with all your holiday crafting with the Catch a Snowflake Promotion.  Tonight fellow demonstrators are getting together for a blog hop to provide inspiration using these amazing products!

For my card I used the color combination of Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Basic Black, and Whisper White for this classic card.  The die cut snowflakes were make with the new Velveteen paper that you have to get your hands on, it's so plush and soft!

Make sure you check out the other projects on the blog hop so you're full of inspiration and ready to place your order on November 1 (these items will only be available during November or while supplies last)!

SSINKspiration Trees, Leaves, and Pinecones: Rooted in Nature

Good morning!  While it's chilly and rainy back home we're enjoying the fun and sunshine on vacation, little getaways are so important to rest and refuel.  Of course while I'm away I couldn't leave you without some creative inspiration and today the SSINKspiration is sharing projects featuring trees, leaves, and pinecones perfect for fall!

I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then used Very Vanilla for the cardfront.  On this layer I embossed it with the Big Shot and Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder and then lightly sponged over it with Rich Razzleberry and Mint Macaron ink for a fun effect.

Next I added a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper that was matted with Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  For the stamped images I used the Rooted in Nature Bundle, the tree was stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Very Vanilla and the greeting stamped in Cajun Craze ink on Mint Macaron cardstock.  The greeting was cut out with the Layering Circles Framelits and the tree cut out with the Nature's Roots Framelits and then attached with dimensionals.

To finish off the card I took a piece of Very Vanilla 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and sponged it with Cajun Craze ink before tying it in a knot for a fun bow.

This card has a nice warm feel that is very calming.  What does fall look like where you live?  We're still waiting for the leaves to change but can't wait for all the color to unfold.

Fab Friday Color Challenge 148: Spooky Sweets

Good afternoon!

There's a week to go until Halloween and I'm working on wrapping up a few last minute cards and gifts in order to get them in the mail on time.  I was so excited to see this weeks Fab Friday color challenge which is perfect for Halloween to I didn't make a huge stretch in making this card and since I had the Spooky Sweets stamp set out on my desk it came into use.

I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then added Basic Black as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  Next I used the spooky cloud stamp and stamped randomly in Smoky Slate ink before adding a strip of Gorgeous Grape DSP from the Toil and Trouble Designer Series Paper.  Along the bottom of the DSP I added a piece of the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape.

For the main image I used the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out a circle using Pumpkin Pie cardstock before stamping the greeting in Basic Black and sponging around the edge with Basic Black ink.  Next I stamped the bats using Basic Black ink and used the Spooky Bats Punch to punch them out and then used Mini Dimensionals to attach the bats to the cardfront.

The final touch was to add some purple glitter enamel dots from the Glitter Enamel Dots

A quick and easy card that isn't too scary for even our little ghosts and goblins (and come on glitter really does make everything better, haha!!)

Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge 301: Snow is Glistening

Good morning!

I know the fall weather has just arrived and you may not want to think about it but the holidays will be here before you know it, trust me it's better to embrace it and start getting prepared so you're not stressed at the end of the year.  Stampin' Up! will be releasing some limited addition products (Snowflake Showcase) in November to help get you on your way to completing beautiful holiday cards, gifts, and décor so I decided this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge would be perfect for showcasing these items.

I used Whisper White Thick cardstock for the cardbase and then sponged around the edges with Night of Navy ink.  Next I used Pool Party cardstock for the cardfront and used the large tree image from the Snow is Glistening stamp set and stamped repeatedly (the stamps being photopolymer made for easy alignment) to great a snowy background.

I used the Snowfall Thinlits dies and the Big Shot to cut three different size snowflakes using Night of Navy, Silver Glimmer Paper and the new White Velveteen Sheets (these things feel amazing!!)  The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits.

For the gray strip I used a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock and embossed it with the Big Shot and Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder.  The final touch is the ribbon element in the top corner and I took a piece of Night of Navy 1/2" Gingham Ribbon and looped it over and tied a bow using Whisper White Baker's Twine.

I definitely did the happy dance after this card was finished, so much texture and dimension and the products in this new limited edition suite are amazing and I'll be using it for several other projects.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using this sketch and then we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create!
