SSINKspiration DIY Valentine: Sure Do Love You

Good morning!  Today over on the SSINKspiration blog it's all about Valentine's and if no other time of year Valentine's is the perfect time to work a little DIY magic to really let someone know how much you love them.  Today I'm sharing a blinged out shaker card that's one of the projects that we'll be making at the upcoming Sure Do Love You Valentine class.

I started with Melon Mambo cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock as a matt for the Painted with Love Speciality Designer Series paper.  I used the Big Shot and Sweet and Sassy Framelits to cut the window out of the DSP for the shaker and then attached a piece of Window Sheet behind the opening to hold in the glitter.  I used the Foam Adhesive Strips to outline the heart shape (I drew an outline of the heart cutout first on the Rich Razzleberry layer so I knew where to put my strips).  Then I added some of the new Gold Glitter Flakes (love how big and chunky these are) and then added dimensionals to each of the corners of the DSP before attaching it so the whole layer is popped up evenly.  Before attaching the cardfront piece to the base I wrapped a piece of Powder Pink 3/8" Shimmer ribbon around the front and attached a bow (this ribbon is so soft and pretty with just a pinch of sparkle.

Next for the greeting I used the Sure Do Love You stamp set and stamped the greeting in Versamark on Calypso Coral cardstock and then heat embossed it using the Heat Tool and Gold Emboss Powder.  Then I used the Big Shot and the Lots of Love Box Framelits to cut the banner out before attaching it with dimensionals.  Of course I wanted just a little more bling so I cut a heart out of Gold Glimmer Paper using a framelit from the same set and attached it with a dimensional.

I love all the different types of sparkle and shine in this card (even the DSP has gold foil accents), perfect for Valentine's day.  I can't wait to help other's get their DIY on and make projects for their loved one's at our upcoming class.  We'll also be making a cute box that coordinates with the card, perfect for gifting (and you'll be ready before the last minute rush!)

SSINKspiration Favorite Occasions Designer Series Paper: Color Me Happy

Good morning!  I've had Valentine's on the brain lately and I'm starting to think of ideas for all my Valentine projects so it only makes sense that for today's SSINKspiration blog post where the designers are sharing their favorite designer series paper from the Occasion Catalog that I picked the Painted with Love Speciality Paper.  I mean this paper has gold foil on every page and I love that not all the patterns are strickly hearts and valentines but you can use it for other occasions, so I decided to make a thank you to show how versatile it is.

I started Melon Mambo cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Powder Pink cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Scattered Sequins Dynamic Embossing Folder.  Then I added a piece of the Painted with Love Speciality Designer Series Paper.

For the main stamped image I used the Color Me Happy stamp set and stamped the greeting on Whisper White cardstock using Memento Black ink.  Next I used the Pink Pirouette, Calypso Coral, and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends to create an ombre effect.  Once I was finished coloring I cut it out using the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits.  I used the same framelits to cut the mat out of Rich Razzleberry cardstock and then attached it to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final touch was to tie a bow using the Love Mini Tinsel Trim and attached it using a glue dot (this tinsel plays great against the foil in the DSP).

I never get amazed how a little foil or sparkle really dresses up a card, no matter the occasion and all these colors are so bright and cheer, you can't help but smile.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and I'm sure you will fall in love some of the new DSP's and want to add them to your next order.

SSINKspiration Favorite Sale-a-bration Item: Epic Celebrations

Good morning!  The start of the new year can sometimes be a little sad because we've just ended the holidays, it's cold and sometimes snowy so I love that Sale-a-bration always is this time of year because nothing is better than FREE, exclusive products.  Today the SSINKspiration designers are sharing their favorite products from Sale-a-bration.  I've saved a few of the wonderful products but given that I have a tween in the house when I first saw the Epic Celebrations stamp set I knew it would be a great card for kids.  This card is one I made for a swap I was in earlier and I'm just now sharing it.

I started with Sahara Sand cardstock for the cardbase and then added Whisper White cardstock for the cardfront.  On the cardfront I used the Watercolor Wash background stamp and Calypso Coral ink to make the background.  Then I used Basic Black to stamp the greeting directly on the cardfront and the spot stamp is also from the Epic Celebrations stamp set and was stamped in Tranquil Tide ink.

Next I used the Big Shot and the Stitched Shapes Framelits to make a frame outline using Basic Black cardstock.  Next I used the 1 1/4" Circle Punch to cut a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock and then added a Rhinestone accent.

For the main element I stamped the tennis shoe image using Versamark ink on Tranquil Tide and then used White Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool to emboss the image before cutting it out with Paper Snips and finally attached the piece to the cardfront with dimensionals.

This card has a fun and modern feel that I know any teen, or tween will enjoy to help celebrate their "epic" event.  I've seen so many great ideas using this stamp set I will definitely be playing with it more!

SSINKspiration Fun with Stampin' Blends: You're Inspiring

Good morning!  I was so excited when Stampin' Up! announced the release of the new Stampin' Blends markers as I was really starting to like the look of coloring with our previous alcohol markers before they had to be pulled and I have to tell you the new Stampin' Blends are wonderful!  Today the SSINKspiration blog designers are sharing projects made using these great new markers that if you like to color are a must!  Also, since we've had such cold weather lately, and even a little snow I decided to brighten the mood make making a pretty spring looking card using the new You're Inspiring stamp set.

I started with Old Olive cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder and then added a strip of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.

For the main stamped image, I started by stamping the tulip image on Whisper White cardstock using Memento Basic Black ink (you need to use this ink when using the Blends so it doesn't bleed).  Next I used my Stampin' Blends to color the image in before cutting it out with my Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits.  The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped on Old Olive cardstock using Basic Black ink and then cut out using the same framelits before attaching with dimensionals.

The final touch was to add a bow using Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double Stitched Ribbon.

This card just screams spring, which I need given this cold weather.  I was so excited when I saw this stamp set and see myself using it for lots of cards this spring so I will definitely get some coloring therapy in.  Have you tried out the new Stampin' Blends?  I'm teaching a Stampin' Blends class this weekend and looking forward to sharing how fun and easy these markers are.
