Fab Friday Sketch Challenge: Postcard Pals

Good morning!  We're at the midpoint of the week (it's funny how the week always seems to seem brighter once we hit Wednesday) but I'm enjoying a quiet house with the guys out of town to spend some time in the studio in the evening for a little fun.  Today I'm playing along with the Fab Friday sketch challenge and decided to use this as another way to show off my featured Product of the Week, Postcard Pals.

I used Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder as the cardfront.

For the main stamped image I stamped this cheeky little fellow on Whisper White cardstock using Momento Black ink and then colored him in with the Stampin' Blends (I really do love these markers!!)  Once I had finished coloring I cut out the image using the Big Shot and Layering Squares Framelits.  I used the same framelits to cut a scalloped square mat using Basic Black cardstock.  Before attaching the piece to the cardfront I added a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon behind the square.  Dimensionals were used to attach the stamped piece.

The final touch was to add the greeting which I stamped on Daffodil Delight cardstock using Bermuda Bay ink and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits (I used dimensionals on this piece as well).

I have to say, the more I used this stamp set the more I fall in love with it, it's light hearted and can be used for many different occasions.  Of course I know I've said it before but I'm really enjoying coloring with the Stampin' Blends these days so this gives me a little bit of stress relief which is perfection!  Also this guy reminds me of a Disney character, haha!!
