2018 Eichfeld Christmas Card: Timeless Tidings

Merry Christmas!  I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful day with friends and family.  Now that our Christmas cards should have all arrived I wanted to share our family Christmas card for the year.  While my initial plan was to make something easier than last years (oh all the watercoloring and die cuts, haha!)  so I decided to go with a fun fold and decided the interlocking gate fold would be perfect.  Of course using the Timeless Tidings stamp set and adding the poinsettia and greens that were colored with Stampin' Blends and then hand cut our (times 100) all made it a bit more complicated but really loved the end result (of course the foil designer series paper added the bling factor!)

Here's the inside of the card where we added this years family picture.

Hope you enjoy and have a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for a wonderful 2019!

SSINKspiration Sparkle and Shine: Merry Christmas to All

Good afternoon!  Have you crossed all those items off your To Do list?  I'm still working through mine which is why I haven't been sharing as much, sorry about that.  Today the SSINKspiration team is sharing projects that sparkle and shine and you know how I love all the bling so I thought I would share a card that has glitter, foil, copper, and rhinestones (oh my!!)

I started with Gray Granite cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper as the cardfront.

For the main image I used the Big Shot and Stitched Labels Framelits to cut the frame out of Shaded Spruce cardstock and heat embossed "happy" from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set using the Heat Tool and Copper Embossing Powder.

Next I used the Big Shot and the Merry Christmas Thinlits using Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper.  For a little accent I cut a couple of holly sprigs using Mint Macaron cardstock and the Alpine Sports Thinlits and then added a Red Rhinestone as the berries.

I love this all the sparkle on this card, can you blame me?  And the great thing is that it's flat and mailable and not time consuming to make (so if you're still working on your Holiday cards this one may be just right for you and still be super impressive!

Remember the last day to purchase items from the holiday catalog is January 2 so make sure to stock up on your favorites before it's too late!  Also a reminder the Merry Christmas to All stamp set and coordinating framelits will be carrying over however the bundle pricing is only available through January 2 so if you want these you can save 10% by ordering now.

SSINKspiration Favorite Christmas Designer Series Paper: Alpine Adventures

Good afternoon!  The weather man got our hopes up that we may see some sizeable snowfall this weekend but it's now looking like it's not going to fall our way but that doesn't mean it didn't get me thinking about snow activities and the Alpine Adventures stamp set and thinlits are perfect so I decided to use them on today's card.   The SSINKspiration team is sharing their favorite Christmas Designer Series Paper so this is perfect!

For this card I used Real Red cardstock for the cardbase and then added Shaded Spruce cardstock as a mat for the Very Vanilla cardfront (which was embossed with the Big Shot and Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder and then sponged with Crumb Cake ink)

Next I added a piece of All is Bright Designer Series Paper (this is one of my favorite prints in the package and I've been afraid to cut into it until now) and matted it with Real Red cardstock.  The greeting is from the Alpine Adventures stamp set and was stamped in Shaded Spruce ink on Very Vanilla and then cut out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes framelits and attached with dimensionals.  The snowshoe was cut with the Alpine Sports Thinlits and was cut out of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (I added a Multipurpose Adhesive sheet to the DSP before cutting so the snow shoe was covered in adhesive for easy application.  The final touch was to cut a bow out of Gold Foil Paper using the same thinlit set.

I absolutely love this card and it will be one of the cards we make this Sunday in Just Cards class so make sure you sign up so you can make this card as well.

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge #FabFri151: Dashing Deer

Good morning!  I love a little sparkle to add to projects (no secret there!) but especially on holiday projects a little shine and sparkle are the perfect touch.  I decided to let gold foil be the focus on my card using this weeks Fab Friday sketch challenge while designing this card that we will be making at Sunday's Just Cards class.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Dashing Along Designer Series Paper as the card front (these patterns and colors are perfect for the holidays and I'm so glad this paper is back and available for all your holiday needs).

I used Whisper White cardstock for the focus panel and stamped the greeting from the Dashing Deer stamp set in Early Espresso ink and then added two strips of washi tape along the bottom using the Suite Season Specialty Washi Tape (this tape is great because it's got metallic in 3 of the 5 patterns using three different colors of metallic, plus this washi tape is currently on sale as part of the closeout sale so it's only available while supplies last).  For the main focus piece I used Gold Foil Paper, the Big Shot, and the Detailed Deer Thinlits to cut this beautiful foil deer.  I wanted this card to have a little dimension so I used dimensionals to attach the entire Whisper White piece on the cardfront.

This card is so beautiful and it really easy to make so it's great for multiples, which is perfect during the holiday season!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge 304: So Santa

Good morning!  With all the craziness that makes up my wonderful family one thing that has always provided me a little calm and release is crafting so I was so excited last night to take a break and get in the studio to create a card using this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments card sketch.  Now of course, I can't stop thinking about holidays but I was able to pull out the Stampin' Blends and get a little color therapy while watching The Santa Clause.

I used Thick Whisper White cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Real Red cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder and then added a strip of the All is Bright Designer Series Paper along the right side.

For the main image I grabbed the So Santa stamp set and stamped this cute little Santa baker in Momento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock and then used my Stampin' Blends to color him in before cutting it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits and attached it with dimensionals.

To finish off the card I stamped the greeting in Basic Black on Pool Party cardstock and cut it out with the Big Shot and Merry Christmas Thinlits.  I added a coordinating piece of the All is Bright DSP behind the greeting and then tied a little bow using Garden Green and Whisper White Baker's Twine as the finishing touch.

What isn't to love about this card?  Santa can bake me sweet treats anytime (I may just have to run a little longer) and the sweater embossing and classic Christmas light bulb pattern bring back childhood memories.  Make sure to check out all the other great cards the design team is sharing for inspiration and then we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create using this sketch challenge.
