Sketch Frenzy Friday Sketch Challenge: Hip Hip Horray Greetings

Happy Easter Friday all!  We've been having a great week and looking forward to some family time at an amusement park that Aidan has never been to before this weekend, can't wait.  Before we get started I wanted to share my design team card for this weeks Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge.   I recently had time to play with the new Hip Hip Horray Card Kit and I love it, I was able to make all 20 cards in the kit in less than 2 hours and had extra pieces plus the stamps left.  I decided to use the card kit for inspiration for this weeks card.  I started with a cardbase that's Crumb Cake Cardstock and then added a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock that I embossed with the Big Shot and the Arrows Embossing Folder.  I added a piece of Calypso Coral DSP from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.

The word bubble element is an extra piece from the card kit and I stamped the "thanks" greeting in Basic Gray.  I used one of the extra paperclips from the kit and tied a bow out of Calypso Coral Baker's Twine.  I used the Circle Card Thinlits Die to cut a star out of Pistachio Pudding Cardstock and attached it with a dimensional.

For a fun accent I used one of the Essentials Wooden Elements, with a piece of Basic Gray cardstock that was punched out with the 1" Circle Punch and the words from the Just Saying Stamp set that was punched out with the 3/4" Circle Punch and layered them all.  In the bottom right corner, instead of a greeting I added some sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim for a little sparkle.

These card kits are so great, not only do you get some great cards you can make quickly and easily but the ideas and stamps can be used for lots of other projects.  We would love for you to play along with this weeks sketch challenge, it's great to get the creative juices flowing.

Have a great weekend and a Happy Easter!

  1. That color combination is yummy! All of your additional accent pieces are perfect too.
