Happy Thursday! Spring has definitely arrived and since it's the second Thursday of the month you know what time it is? It's the April Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop and this month we're focusing on all things kids. For my projects I decided to focus on babies since we have lots of friends expecting and we'll have lots of baby gifts and showers in the near future. Since two of our friends have decided not to find out in advance what the sex of their babies are it makes it a little difficult to preplan (the uber-planner in me would go nuts not know what I was having, but that's beside the point) so you get a bonus, I made three different baby cards, all using the same stamp set (Baby, We've Grown) so there's lots of ideas.
As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number #10 on the Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop - Tonya B. of Stampin' with Tonya. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.
The first card I have is for the little boys and it starts with a Marina Mist Cardbase. Next I added a piece of Soft Suede cardstock that I embossed with the Big Shot and the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder. I added a piece of Marina Mist DSP from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack and wrapped some Whisper White Baker's Twine around the layers. I stamped the little boy shoes on Whisper White Cardstock with Basic Black ink and colored in the shoes with my Marina Mist Stampin' Write Marker. This piece if frame with a piece of filmstrip that I cut using the Gold Foil Paper, Big Shot, and the On Film Framelits and I used dimensionals to attach the layer so it could easily straddle the baker's twine.
The greeting is stamped in Soft Suede ink and I used my marker to color in the pacifier, punched the piece out with the Decorative Label Punch and sponged around the edge with Marina Mist ink. The final touch was to add a few gold sequin from the Gold Sequin Trim.
For the second card I decided to make a gender neutral card and used Smoky Slate as the cardbase. For this card I embossed a piece of Basic Black cardstock with the Big Shot and the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and matted it with Coastal Cabana Cardstock. I added some Coastal Cabana Ruffled Stretch Ribbon and Smoky Slate Chevron Ribbon around the main part of the card.
For the stamped image I stamped the little bunny in Basic Black ink and used So Saffron and Coastal Cabana Stampin' Write Markers to color him in. This piece was cut out with the Big Shot and the Deco Labels Framelits and was matted on a piece of So Saffron DSP from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack using the same framelits. The greeting was stamped in Basic Black on Coastal Cabana and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch and I created a mat using the same punch and Smoky Slate Cardstock. Dimensionals were used to attach the greeting to the card and the final touch was a cute little rhinestone.
The final card is for a cute little girl. For this one I used Pink Pirouette cardstock for the cardbase and a piece of Strawberry Slush DSP from the 2013-2015 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack. I added a strip of Smoky Slate cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Arrows Textured Embossing Folder and a piece of Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon that was attached with Sticky Strip so I could ruffle it up.
After stamping the shoes in Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock and coloring them in with my Pink Pirouette and Strawberry Slush Stampin' Write Markers I cut them out with the Big Shot and the Oval Collection Framelits and attached it to the cardfront with dimensionals. The greeting was stamped with Strawberry Slush ink on Pink Pirouette cardstock and cut out with the Starburst Framelits and Big Shot. I wanted a little bling so I cut a starbust the same size with the framelits and the Silver Glimmer Paper and offset it so it just peaks out. I used dimensionals on the greeting as well and had to stack them so they really popped over the oval layer.
