SSINKspiration 2018-2020 In Colors: Label Me Pretty

Good morning!  I hope you're enjoying all the fabulous new items in the Annual Catalog, I know I am.  One of the highlights of the annual catalog for me is always the new In Colors, I love to see new colors to freshen up our color pallet and the 2018-2010 In Colors do just that.  Today the SSINKspiration designers are sharing projects that show off these new In Colors that you are sure to fall in love with.

When I saw these colors they immediately screamed rainbow to me and used to love drawing rainbows as a kid so I wanted a card to show the rainbow effect with these new colors.

I started with Lovely Lipstick cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Basic Black cardstock as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  On the cardfront I used the Playful Backgrounds stamp set to build my rainbow using Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and finally Blueberry Bushel and I really like the effect of stamping the open circles so it kind of looks like bubbles.

For the greeting I used the Label Me Pretty stamp set and stamped the label piece in Call Me Clover ink on Call Me Clover cardstock and then punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch.  The greeting was stamped in Grapefruit Grove ink on Whisper White cardstock and then punched out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.  I did sponge around the edge with Pineapple Punch ink before attaching the greeting to the label with a dimensional.  To finish off the card I attached some Blueberry Bushel 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon and Mini Silver Sequin Trim to dress it up and look tails on a ribbon.

These colors are so bright and fun they are perfect to just let someone know they're special anytime, or maybe a special occasion like a graduation which are big this time of year.  Either way it's sure to brighten someones day!

SSINKspiration Gardening Fun: Jar of Love

Good morning and Happy Friday!  It's the last day of school today and you can imagine there is a lot of excitement for the upcoming summer fun.  One things I love about summer is all the great gardens, both veggies and flowers.  I really enjoy growing flowers and enjoying all their beauty.  Today the SSINKspiration team is sharing ideas with this gardening theme and when I looked through my stamp stash I don't have many gardening specific stamps but bringing cut flowers inside so we can enjoy the outdoor beauty indoors is part of the fun so I turned to the Jar of Love stamp set to make a cute little cut flower arrangement that would be perfect sitting on your nightstand or living room.

For this card I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added  a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper along the left side.

For the main stamped image I stamped the jar in basic black ink and then inked the stems and leaves in Old Olive (I did have to stamp a couple of the stem pieces multiple times to get the length needed but with the photopolymer stamps it was a breeze to line up.  Next I stamped the flowers on Whisper White cardstock (I used Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron, Blueberry Bushel, and Blackberry Bliss for the flowers and then cut them out with the Big Shot and Everyday Jar Framelits (they coordinate with the Jar of Love stamp set perfectly).  Dimensionals were used to attach the flowers for a little height and then I sponged around the edge with Crumb Cake ink to play off the look of the wood grain DSP.  To finish off this piece I used some Blackberry Bliss cardstock as a mat for the stamped piece before attaching it to the cardfront.

The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock with Calypso Coral ink and then cut out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits and attached with dimensionals.  Now when I use simple glass jars for flowers in my house I like to add a little ribbon bow to dress it up so I used some Blueberry Bushel 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon to tie a double bow and attached to my jar.

I love the simple look of this card and it's perfect for this time of year.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and then you can great your own garden inspired project to help bring the beauty from outside into your home.

Fab Friday Color Challenge FabFri138: Stitched All Around

Good morning!  Today I'm playing along with the Fab Friday color challenge to show off a great new bundle in the annual catalog, it's the Stitched All Around stamp set and coordinating Stitched Labels Framelits.

I started with Powder Pink cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock as a mat for the cardfront that is Crumb Cake.  On the cardfront I stamped using the Burlap stamp set using Crumb Cake ink (and stamped off once so it was a little lighter).

For the main stamped image I stamped the greeting in Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Labels Framelits and then sponged around the edge with Powder Pink ink.

For the additional decorative elements I punched out a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock with the Starburst Punch and then embossed it with the Big Shot and Petal Pair Embossing Folder (these embossing folders are great for embossing little elements that you add to your card).  Then I took a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock and cut out an oval using the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits and then used one of the debossing elements from the Stitched Labels Framelits set for the fun textural element.

After attaching all the pieces to the cardfront, and I did use dimensionals for the greeting I finished off the card with a bow tied with Whisper White 1/8" Sheer Ribbon that I had colored with my Powder Pink Stampin' Write Marker.

I love how all the different shapes, textures, and colors play off each other for some fun design elements that really draw your eye to each piece.  And a great thing about this saying is that you could use it for different occasions, birthday, graduation, weddings, anything you want to celebrate so you'll get a lot of use out of it.  Also don't forget when you buy the stamp set and framelits as a bundle you save 10%!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #291: High Tide

Good morning!  With schools either already out for spring break, or finishing soon (Friday for my kiddo) thoughts are definitely turning to  summer fun so it's perfect for this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments inspiration challenge and I was immediately drawn to thoughts of the beach and for us we always visit lighthouses so I knew the High Tide stamp set would be perfect.  There aren't lots of fancy tools or techniques with this card but you can build such beautiful scenes all with the different stamps in this one set.

I started with Sahara Sand cardstock for the cardbase and then used Basic Black as a matt for the Whisper White cardfront.  Before starting to stamp the cardfront I cut an oval out of Whisper White cardstock using the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits and attached it with just a little SNAIL so that I could stamp on both pieces at the same time for perfect alignment.

For the stamping I used Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Pool Party, Pacific Point, Balmy Blue (new color), Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate, and Mango Melody (new color).  Sometimes I stamped full strength, others are stamped off first to make for a softer color and more depth.  For the sky I used Balmy Blue but lightly sponged so it wasn't too strong.

Once I had finished with the stamping I removed the oval and added a oval mat using Smoky Slate cardstock and cut with the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits and attached the piece with dimensionals.

This is an absolutely fabulous stamp set since it gives you so many options and there are some basic element stamps that could be used for so many things, even just to add texture and a design element on other cards, awesome!  Make sure to check out the other design team cards for inspiration and then we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.

SSINKspiration Card Sketch SSINKCS52: Enjoy Life

Good morning!  We had quite the roller coaster of the weekend but it was so nice to have a quiet, slow day yesterday I enjoyed every moment (I even got a little time in the studio, whoo hoo!)  Today the SSINKspiration team is back with a new sketch challenge and you're really going to like this one.  It provides some fun elements but makes it so the card isn't crazy, over the top that you may feel intimidated and of course I decided to show off lots of new stuff from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.

I started with Crumb cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardfront (so happy this color is back).  On this piece I stamped along the bottom using the floral stamp from the Enjoy Life stamp set (and stamped off once for a softer effect).

Next I added a piece of the Share What you love Speciality Designer Series paper that I punched with the Triple Banner Punch along the right side, and used another coordinating pattern from the package across the center that was matted with Old Olive cardstock.  Before attaching this piece I wrapped some Blackberry Bliss Twine, from the Nature's Twine package around the DSP and then tied a bow.  A little know about this twine,  the colors are great and you get 4 colors in the package (5 yards each) but it is a little stiffer than our Baker's Twine so you have to play a little extra when making a bow to get it nice and tight.

The greeting is also from the Enjoy Life stamp set (you are really going to love this set) and was stamped in Tranquil Tide ink on Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the butterflies in Grapefruit Grove (one of the new 2018-2020 In Colors) before matting with Blackberry Bliss cardstock and attaching to the cardfront with dimensionals to finish it off.

I love all the colors in this DSP package and there are so many different options, you can get such a variety of project looks with just this one mega package.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using this sketch and then we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create!
