SSINKspiration Coffee Cafe

Good morning!  I hope you enjoyed your weekend.   I know friends who are huge coffee drinkers and especially rely on their caffeinated drink to kick start the week so the SSINKspiration team is here to provide a little caffeinated kick start to your creative ideas by sharing projects that use the Coffee Café stamp set.  No you know I'm not a coffee drinker so you'll have to excuse the little bit of liberty I took in making a cold iced drink and then adding whipped cream at the top, that is an actual drink, right?  If not, it totally should be!!

I used Pear Pizzaz cardstock for the cardbase and then added two different pieces of the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper and then wrapped a piece of Garden Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon around the center.

To make the drink I started by stamping the cup on Pool Party cardstock using Early Espresso ink and then stamped the ice cubes in Versamark and heat embossed with the Heat Tool and White Embossing Powder before cutting it out with the Big Shot and coordinating Coffee Cup Framelits.  I did the same thing to make the foamy top and straw and used the framelits and Vellum Cardstock for the clear top.

The greeting is from the Birthday Delivery stamp set and it was stamped in Pear Pizzaz ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and cut out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes framelits.  I used dimensionals to attach both the greeting and the drink to finish off the card.

I love the color combination that DSP has and this card is so fun to help celebrate a special day.  Just wanted to give you a heads up, the retiring list for this years catalog is going to be released later this afternoon so you will want check back to see what's retiring as things will only be available while supplies last and we all know some things will sell out quickly (i.e. 2016-2018 In Colors, make sure you have your cardstock and reinkers all set).  Also when the retiring list is released some items will be listed at sale prices so take advantage of those while you can!

SSINKspiration CASE the Designer (DARLA): Birthday Delivery

Good morning!  I think Fridays are a great day to start out a new month, lots to look forward to as we close out the year and all the holidays.  Today I'm joining along with the
SSINKspiration designers in another edition of CASE of Designer.  This month we're focusing on Darla Roberts and I love her clean style.  When I was looking at Darla's blog for a card I came across a great card that used the Painted Harvest stamp set and I really liked it but decided to use the layout sketch but change up the stamp, paper, etc. to make a fun birthday card.  You can see Darla's inspiration card HERE.

I started with Real Red cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardfront.  To this piece I added two pieces of the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper and matted it with Pacific Point cardstock.  I also wrapped a piece of Lemon Lime Twist 1/4" Ombre Ribbon around the center.  One thing I love about this DSP and the coordinating Birthday Friends Framelits is that several of the framelits are sized to cut out images from the DSP, so no fussy cutting or coloring necessary, this is what I did to make the yummy birthday cake and then matted it with a circle of Old Olive cardstock (I did use dimensionals to attach the circle piece to the cardfront).

To finish off the card I stamped the greeting from the Birthday Delivery stamp set using Early Espresso ink and then added a trio of rhinestones in the top right center.

This is such a fun and cheery card, perfect to help celebrate someone's birthday, no matter how old they are.  I hope Darla likes my interpretation of her card.

Proverbial Stampers Color Challenge: Birthday Delivery Disney Style!

Good morning!  It's taking a little to get back into our usual routine after vacation but I have a dear friend with a sweat daughter who's birthday is this week and she's an even bigger Disney fan than I am (if that's possible) so I wanted to send her a special card and decided to use the Proverbial Stampers color challenge as inspiration (along with Minnie of course!).

I started with Pool Party cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Berry Burst cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Sparkle Embossing Folder.  Now you know I'm not great a punch art but a Mickey head is easy to make with some Basic Black cardstock and circle punches (I used 2 1/4" and 1" Circle Punches).  I wanted to make this a Minnie so I added a bow tied with Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double Stitched Ribbon for the perfect bow.

The greeting is from the Birthday Delivery stamp set and after using Stampin' Write Markers to color in the greeting and stamping on Whisper White cardstock I used the Big Shot and Lots of Labels Framelits to cut the greeting out and then trimmed it down on one side with my paper cutter.  Dimensionals  were used to attach the greeting so it pops off the card.

This card is bright, cheery, and lots of fun, just like the birthday girl herself.  And let's be honest, who doesn't smile when they think of Disney?  I'm sure she will love it!

SSINKspiration Inspiration Challenge SSINKIC46: Colorful Seasons Beachy Greetings

Good morning!  Since it's the start of the new week it's time for a new challenge over on the SSINKspiration blog, this week it's an inspiration challenge.  Now I'll admit these one's are tough for me so I usually don't play along but when I saw the fabulous picture Jennifer provided us I knew the Colorful Seasons bundle would be perfect and beachy fun was needed.  I also decided to combine this with the June Proverbial Stampers color challenge (I did add a little Crushed Curry but everyone needs some sun at the beach!).

I started off with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper (using one of the Berry Burst patterns) as a background for my cardfront.  The cardfront is Whisper White and I started by taking the High Tide stamp set and stamping some sand on the bottom using Crumb Cake ink (I stamped off once for the lighter color and full strength for the darker to add some dimension).  For the sky I took some Soft Sky ink and sponged all over the top leaving some white peaking through.

For the sun, I used the Daisy Punch and some Crushed Curry cardstock and then after punching it out used the Big Shot and Layering Circles Framelits to cut the tips of the petals to look more "sunish".  To the center of the sun I added a Gold Faced Gem.

Next I used the Colorful Season stamp set and stamp the drink cup (using Berry Burst and Old Olive and then cut the cup out using the Big Shot and Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  The same thinlit set has the super cute beach chair die and it was cut using Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I used a dimensional to pop the drink up off the arm of the chair.

The final touch was to add the greeting and since I always need birthday cards I used the Birthday Delivery stamp set (this was the perfect font!) and stamped the greeting in Old Olive ink.

While I can't be at the beach right now this card definitely helps bring those warm relaxing feelings and I just love the cute images in the Colorful Seasons bundle, will be using it all year long.

Make sure to check out the other design team members made using this same inspiration and then share what you created, we would love to see it!
