Fab Friday Sketch Challenge: Hey There Summer Flower

This has been a crazy week with me having to attend meetings off site this week which means I've had to spend more time in traffic than usual (I'm very blessed to work about 5 miles from home and enjoy staying in my local area during rush hour), add that along with baseball and we've definitely been on the go.  Today I'm sharing a fun card I made for the Fab Friday sketch challenge.  This week it's a color challenge and while I was very excited about this color combination but at first I got a little stuck when I decided to use the splash image from the My Paper Pumpkin welcome kit, thankfully I think it all worked out in the end.  I started with a Crumb Cake cardbase and then layered Whisper White cardstock and I stamped the splatter stamp in Crumb Cake ink in the top right corning (stamped off first to make the ink color less intense).  I used the Delicate Details Lace Tape along the bottom of the card but used it as a stencil and sponged Summer Starfruit ink before removing the tape (I saw this technique at Leadership in January and I'll admit this is what made me decide that I "had to have" this tape.  I also stamped the hey there friend greeting from the same My Paper Pumpkin stamp set in Pool Party ink.

I used Pool Party and Calypso Coral designer series paper from the 2011-2013 In Color DSP stack for the flag elements and matted them on Crumb Cake and Calypso Coral cardstock.  Calypso Coral Baker's Twine was wrapped around the layers several times before being tied in a bow.  The final touch was to add a flower from the Secret Garden stamp set (this particular image reminds me of daisies, don't know why) so it was stamped in Summer Starfruit ink and then cut out with the Big Shot and the coordinating Secret Garden framelits.  A Calypso Coral Printed In Color Brad was used as a perfect center for the flower.

This card has lots of fun playful elements that while they were not designed to together initially I think they really work well with each other and are nice a bright which is perfect to just let a friend know you're thinking of them.

I hope you enjoy and have a little stamping time today!
