It's Cool in Shades: Pocketful of Sunshine

Good evening!  I love seeing all the exciting adventures family and friends are doing during the summer, it's making me really look forward to our own vacation in a few weeks.  I'm back today with another card using the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set and of course while you know I love the sunglasses I couldn't do this set justice without using the awesome namesake pocket and coordinating die.

I started with Pool Party cardstock for the cardbase and then added Mango Melody cardstock as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront that I sponged lightly with Pool Party ink to look like the sky.

I stamped the pocket on Night of Navy cardstock with the same color ink and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Pocket Framelits.  Some sun rays are peaking out of the pocket which were stamped in Mango Melody ink.  I made a cute little tag for the pocket.  The sunglasses are Melon Mambo and after die cutting them I used my Clear Wink of Stella Pen to add some sparkle to the lenses and tucked them into the pocket.

The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Mango Melody ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits and attached with dimensionals.

This card makes me think of a road trip to the beach and spreading sunny fun feeling!

Dazzling Summertime Glasses

Good evening.  I'm back with another fun, summery card that uses the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set and of course those awesome sunglasses.  I also love the new Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper and it's fun colors so decided to use the colors in this paper as inspiration for this card.

I used Blushing Bride cardstock for the cardbase and then added Whisper White cardstock for the cardfront before adding a strip of the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper.

Next I took a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock and cut out a circle using the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits and then stamped the greeting in Shaded Spruce ink.  The glasses were stamped in the same ink on Granny Apple Green cardstock and then cut out the glasses with the coordinating Pocket Framelits and attached them to the cardfront with dimensionals.

Of course you know me and bling, so I added a few rhinestones around the top curve of the circle for the perfect accent.

Now come one, wouldn't these glasses be the perfect way to spend an afternoon at the beach or pool?  Maybe a sunrise run for me.  Don't forget the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set is my featured Product of the Week so you can add them to your stamping toolbox this week and get a package of dimensionals for FREE.

Hand Stamped Sentiment Inspiration Challenge #294: Pocketful of Sunshine

Good morning!  It's always fun to see the new fads and trends as they develop and one that I've seen a lot of this summer and I actually love are flamingos, and they are every where (I even had them as a theme for the neighborhood BBQ we hosted this year).  So it was so funny when I saw the inspiration picture for this month's Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration challenge, it was full of flirty flamingo fun.  Unfortunately I don't have any flamingo stamps so I started looking at the inspiration picture to see what else I could pull out and saw the lady has sunglasses and lots of shades of pink, like an ombre effect.  It was these items that I used for today's card.

I started with Bermuda Bay cardstock for the cardbase and then added Melon Mambo cardstock behind the Whisper White cardfront.

One of my favorite images from the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set is the sunglasses, they remind me of my favorite running glasses, Goodrs, and how you can get them in lots of different colors.  I stamped the glasses in Powder Pink Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry on the same color cardstock and then cut them out with the Big Shot and Pocket Framelits.  I lined the glasses up for the ombre look and used dimensionals to pop up the Flirty Flamingo pair.

Before assembling the card I wrapped a piece of Powder Pink 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon around the cardfront and tied a knot.  The greeting is from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set and inked up just the "celebrate" with my Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Marker and stamped on Powder Pink cardstock before cutting it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits and used dimensionals to attach the greeting.

I could wear these glasses all day, so fun and scream summer fun.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for inspiration and we would love for you to play along with use and share what you create.

RemARKably Creative Blog Hop: NEW, NEW, NEW now that will Do!

Good evening and Happy Father's Day!  It was a wonderfully quiet and relaxing weekend for me with the empty house while they guys were canoeing down the Shenandoah but they made it home earlier today so I was able to check up on all the details and spoil Chris for Father's Day!  This evening we're launching this months Remarkably Created Blog Hop and sharing lots of fun ideas using new catalog items.  I'll admit, there are so many great items in the catalog I struggled a little trying to decide what to use (tough problems, I know!)  In the end I decided to use the Pocketful of Sunshine bundle since it has some cute images and I love how the matching framelits make it so the pocket will hold items.

I started with Berry Burst cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Dapper Denim as a mat for the Crumb Cake cardfront.  On the cardfront I used the new Burlap background stamp and stamped in Crumb Cake ink, stamping off first so it is a more subtle effect.

Next I took the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set and stamped the sunglasses in Berry Burst ink on Berry Burst cardstock, the money in Always Artichoke ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and the pocket using Dapper Denim ink and cardstock.  The coordinating Pocket framelits make cutting all the images out a breeze.  I added the greeting to the pocket by heat embossing it with Copper Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool.

I used my Clear Wink of Stella Pen to add some shimmer to the lenses of the sunglasses and attached them to the cardfront with dimensionals.  Also to make the money look a little more realistic I sponged it with Soft Suede ink before tucking it into the pocket.

This is such a fun stamp set and framelits, lots of potential, it would also be great for gift giving if you wanted to give money or a gift card and tuck it in the pocket.
