SSINKspiration Valentine's: School Note Valentine

Good morning!  Do you remember when you were in school doodling in your notebooks and making fun and elaborate designs either because you were bored or maybe you were preoccupied with the latest cutie that you just couldn't stop thinking about (oh the joys).  We'll one of my friends showed me a card she saw that that that same look and was going to make some so I decided to take my crack at one too since it was fun and easy.  Today the SSINKspiration blog designers are sharing their Love/Valentine's themed card and since I can't stop making these cards right now I had to get in on the fun.

I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Real Red Cardstock for my Whisper White cardfront.  On the Whisper White piece I started with the Writing Notes stamp and stamped the background to look like notebook paper (this is such a great background set!).  Next I used the Sealed with Love stamp set and randomly stamped all over the cardfront images using Basic Black, Going Grey, and Real Red ink.

I wanted a little pop so I stamped one of the greetings in Real Red ink on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut it out with the Big Shot and Layering Circles Framelits.  As you know I believe all valentine's should have a little sparkle so I used some Silver Glimmer Paper and cut out a scalloped circle mat for the greeting using the same framelits and then popped the whole thing up with dimensionals.

The great thing about this card is not only is it fun and festive but it was also really fast to make and flat so it's perfect for mailing.  Have you finished all your Valentine projects yet?  I'm still working and have planned something fun this year for Aidan starting next week so I need to get cracking!  If you need more love inspiration make sure to check out the other design team creations, so many possibilities!

  1. Such a fun card!! Yes, I remember doodling in my notebooks a lot! I was cleaning last week & found an old Japanese Language book that I had doodled a favorite song (from the 70's) on every page! Pretty nostalgic!
