I started with Crumb Cake cardstock and then used the Timeless Textures stamp set to stamp the image using Crumb Cake ink and then splatter using Dapper Denim ink for a background with lots of texture. Next I took a piece of Peekaboo Peach cardstock and cut it out using the Big Shot and Lots of Labels Framelits and then embossed it with the Sparkle Embossing Folder. The designer series paper is Dapper Denim and is from the 2016-2018 In Colors Designer Series Paper Stack that was cut into a flag. For a fun decorative element I took a Mini Paper Clip (new in the Occasions Catalog) and tied a double bow using Crushed Curry Baker's Twine.
For the main stamped image I stamped the cute little chicken peeking out of the corner using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock and then stamped the greeting in Basic Black as well. To color in the chicken I used the Peekaboo Peach Stampin' Write Marker to color in the hair and tail by drawing lots of little marks so it has some texture To color in the body I used the new Watercolor Pencils and colored Daffodil Delight and then used a Blender Pen to spread and even out the color. Once I had the color the way I wanted I attached the piece with dimensionals.
This card is so fun, it puts a smile on your face and these new watercolor pencils are great and super easy to use (you should give them a chance). The other design team members are sharing some great cards using the same sketch so go check them out and then come play along, we would love to see what you create!
