Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC339: Sailing Home

Good morning!

One of the first suites that I saw in the new catalog that I just knew I had to have was the Come Sail Away, I love the nautical theme and with Aidan sailing in the Bahamas this summer with the Boy Scouts I think this suite will be great for some memory keeping projects.  Today I'm using this product suite  to play with this weeks Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then stamped along the left edge with the knot stamp from the Sailing Home stamp set before wrapping a piece of Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine and tied a bow.

For the main stamped image I stamped the background in Crumb Cake ink and the greeting is in Soft Suede.  I used Stampin' Sponges to sponge all over the cardstock before matting it with Soft Suede cardstock.  I little piece of Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper is the perfect way to add some of those nautical stripes.

To finish off the card I stamp the awesome lighthouse image using Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out with the coordinating Smooth Sailing dies and after sponging the die cut with Night of Navy ink I attached it with dimensionals.

I love the soothing feel of this card, it just makes me smell the sea air.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing as inspiration and then we would love for you to play along and share what you create.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #316: Daisy Delight

Good morning!

It's new catalog day!  I'm so excited for this years Annual Catalog which has so many great new bundles, colors, papers, and embellishments, there is truly something for everyone.  I can't wait to share everything with you.

Today we have a new inspiration challenge over with the Hand Stamped Sentiments which is perfect for summer but I used some carryover products which perfect with the inspiration.

I started with Gray Granite cardstock for the cardbase and then added Whisper White as a mat for the Night of Navy cardfront which is embossed with the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder.

Next I took a piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon and colored it with the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.  The stamp set used is the Daisy Delight and I stamped the daisy twice on Whisper White cardstock with Daffodil Delight ink and then punched it out with the Daisy Punch.  Using a Stampin' Sponge I lightly colored the daisy with the same color ink before curling the petals with a bone folder.  The center of the flower has a Gold Faceted Gem.

The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Night of Navy ink on Gray Granite cardstock and matted with Granny Apple Green cardstock.

With so many end of the year activities, parties, travel, etc. we always need thank you's so this card will certainly come in handy.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for inspiration and we would love for you to join us and share what you create.

Picture Perfect Graduation Greetings!

Good afternoon!

This weekend we had the privilege to attend a high school graduation party for a friend, what a wonderful reason to celebrate.  I like to try to personalize the card for the recipient and graduations are the perfect time to use the graduates school colors so I made this card that uses a couple of retiring items (that will only be available until tonight) in unique ways.  This card was inspired by my friend Bree's graduation card that she shared last week, you can see it HERE which I just loved.

I started with Thick Whisper White cardstock for the cardbase and then added a mat of Basic Black cardstock for the Pumpkin Pie cardfront which was embossed with the Big Shot and Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder.  Next I added a piece of the Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper (retiring and on sale!) which the fun foil accents.

The greeting is from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set (retiring) and was stamped in Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I used the Bokeh Dots stamp set to make the fun fireworks type pattern in the background using Pumpkin Pie ink.  Before attaching the greeting to the cardfront with dimensionals I matted it with Basic Black cardstock.

To finish off the card I made this cute graduation cap punch art piece, using the Tailored Tag Punch and Balloon Bouquet Punch (retiring) as well as some Whisper White Baker's Twine (you can search on Pinterest to find how to make the cap, it's not my creation!)

I was beyond happy with how this card turned out, and using a "birthday" stamp set for graduation only extends it's usefulness (trust me this one will not be leaving my studio any time soon.  Reminder today is the last day to order retiring items from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and the 2019 Occasions Catalog so make sure to check your list to make sure you have everything you wanted before it's too late!

Graduation Card: Everything is Rosy

Good evening,

With graduation season upon us I've been working on graduation cards to celebrate this special occasion and since I make my cards I try to personalize the cards to the school colors of the graduate.  I had this gorgeous piece of foil designer series paper from the Everything is Rosy Product Medley and I knew I just had to use this bundle for another graduation card (even if it meant take a little creative license on the foil color).

I started with Whisper White Thick cardstock and then added the piece of Night of Navy/Rose Gold Foil Designer Series Paper as the cardfront.

Next I used the Big Shot and Large Letter Framelits to cut the GRAD letters out of the Rose Gold Foil Paper that's also included in the bundle (heads up, since the Large Letter Framelits are retiring they just were put on sale for 30% so make sure to order these NOW as they're only available while supplies last!)

For the rest of the greeting I used the Everything is Rosy stamp set and stamped in Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Rectangle Framelits (I sponged around the edge with Night of Navy ink before attaching the piece with dimensionals).

This foil is so elegant its the perfect way to celebrate!  Don't forget, the Everything is Rosy Product Medley is only available through the end of the month so you have to order by tomorrow so you don't miss out (all the Rose Gold elements in this bundle is reason enough to make sure it's part of your crafting tool box!)

End of Year Teacher Cards: Picked for You

Good afternoon!

We have less than 2 weeks left of school this year so it's time to get started on end of the year teacher thank you's.  When the Picked for You stamp set was released I knew it would be perfect for teachers gifts.  I also know Aidan has 8 teachers this year so getting him to write in all the cards may be the hardest part of this so I decided to make mini 3" x 3" gift cards perfect for just a little note of appreciation.

I started with Soft Sea Foam cardstock for the cardbase and then added Early Espresso cardstock as the mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  I stamped the cardfront with the Burlap stamp set (retiring) in Crumb Cake ink.

For the stamping I used the Picked for You stamp set (retiring) and stamped the apple (which is actually 4 different overlapping stamp sets for different dimension) using Soft Sea Foam, Granny Apple Green (both full strength and stamped off once) and Early Espresso ink and then cut the apple out with Paper Snips.

The greeting is from the same stamp set and I used my Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker to just ink the "thanks" part of the stamp and stamped it on Crumb Cake cardstock before cutting it out with the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits.  I used dimensionals to attach the greeting.  To finish this off I stamped on the coordinating envelope using the same colors and just changed the greeting.

I love how these cute cards turned out and now we have the task of Aidan writing in them, wish me luck!  While I'm bummed this stamp set is retiring (actually both stamp sets used are retiring), you can still order through tomorrow to ensure you have it for your future crafting needs!
