GoDivas New Catalog Swap: 25 Again

Good afternoon!  I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!  This is a little late in posting as my son had an accident on his bike this morning but he's home and resting now, very thankful.  With the release of each new catalog one of the things demonstrators love to do is card swaps.  If you're not familiar with these, each demonstrator makes a set amount of cards with the same design and then we send them in and we get a package back in the mail with one each of the cards that all the demonstrators made.  It's a great way to have a variety of card ideas for inspiration and shows a wide variety of stamp sets from the catalog (especially good when you don't purchase all the sets on your wish list on day 1, haha!)  So this was the card I made for the GoDivas 2018-2019 Annual catalog swap and there were 35 demonstrators participating and since it uses the 25 Again stamp set it's perfect to show this week since it's my featured Product of the Week.

For this card I started with Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the cardbase and then added Crumb Cake for the cardfront and embossed it with the Big Shot and Maps Etc. Embossing Folder.  I used a piece of the Best Route Designer Series Paper (one of the paper packages that's part of July's DSP sale) and matted it with Crushed  Curry cardstock.

For the main stamped image I used the 25 Again stamp set and stamped the box two box pieces and matches in Momento Black Ink.  The greeting was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink.  Then I used my Stampin' Blends, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, and Smoky Slate to color in the image.  Once that was finished I used Basic Gray cardstock for a mat.  Before attaching the stamped piece to the Crumb Cake 3/8" Classic Weave Ribbon to peak out the side and used dimensionals to attach the stamped piece to the cardfront.

This is just a fun cheeky saying that's perfect for friends as we get a little older but stay young at heard and is a mix of old and new items.

SSINKspiration Create a Card Swap: Rooted in Nature

Happy Friday!  With the arrival of a new catalog it's always fun to get in the swap action, it's fun to play with new products and get samples to share with products and ideas that you may not have.  This month the SSINKspiration team decided to do a unique type of sway, a create a card swap.  For this swap we sent supplies to a fellow design team member and then you take a picture of the elements you receive and then create a card and today we're sharing what we cam up with these supplies.

I decided to stick with using my product of the week, the Rooted in Nature bundle to create this card since I didn't get any stamped images.

I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added Basic Black cardstock for the cardfront that uses DSP from the Share What You Love Speciality Designer Series Paper.  I used the other coordinating strip of DSP and matted it with Rich Razzleberry cardstock along the bottom of the cardfront.  I used the Pearlized Doily and lightly colored it with Rich Razzleberry ink and then used the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut the circle out of the Basic Black cardstock that Pamela had embossed with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Embossing Folder.

I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set for the tree, which I stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on Mint Macaron cardstock and then cut it out with the Nature's Roots Framelits and attached it to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The greeting was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Bermuda Bay ink and then I used my Paper Snips to cut out each part of the greeting and attached them to the cardfront with Mini Dimensionals.  There were still 2 pieces in my swap kit so I tied a bow using the Nature's Twine (the Mini Macaron piece) and attached it to one of the Leaves Trinkets using a glue dot and then used a glue dot to attach the trinket to the cardfront.

These are the supplies Pamela Wu sent to me.

I love the fun, bright colors in this designer series paper and it really helps provide a fresh touch to this card using outdoorsy images.  Remember anyone who places an order through this Sunday that includes the Rooted in Nature bundle (either wood or clear mount) will receive a package of the Leaves Trinkets from me for FREE!  Just make sure to use Hostess Code:  W4TZWC4X.

SSINKspiration Friday Favorites Accessories: This Little Piggy

Good morning!  It was another wonderful week which of course few by way to quickly but I am more than looking forward to this weekend.  We have another swim meet, graduation party, and then big fireworks festivities, which is just our Saturday, haha!  Today on the SSINKspiration blog we're sharing our favorite accessories, and I love accessories the one I've been using on almost every project since I got it is the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I'll admit, when these first came out I didn't see what the big deal was (don't worry I still ordered right away) but after using them I love the extra detail it adds without any extra work on my part, which is perfect!  I also decided to use the This Little Piggy stamp set, when I first got it as part of my Display Stamper box I didn't know what to think since lots of watercoloring isn't normally my thing but these guys are so cute and I love the sayings so the more I use it the more I fall in love with it.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Oh My Stars Embossing Folder.  Next I added a piece of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (wood planks seem to go along with the barn theme, have I mentioned we raised pigs when I was a kid?) and then added a piece of Old Olive 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon.

For the main stamped image I stamped the pig on Shimmery White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Ink (I find it works better for watercoloring) and then colored in the pig using my Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pen, and some Pink Pirouette reinker and the cut him out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The greeting was stamped on Pink Pirouette cardstock with Basic Black ink before being cut out with the same framelits and attached with dimensionals.

When you want to say things to someone you want to bring a smile to their face and this card and the little piggy certainly do that.  Adult coloring is certainly on trend right now so you should take a stab at watercoloring, it's nice and relaxing!

Convention 2014 General Swaps

I'm back and it's time to  share the rest of the swaps I made for this years convention.  In addition to organized swaps there is also general swapping which means you swap with anyone on the convention floor, hotels, restaurants, anywhere.  This is lots of fun as anyone who attends can participate and you really see a wide rage of projects and stamping, it's also a great way to meet lots of people from all over.  I don't like to make tons of one design (I get board) so I usually make batches of 25 and do different ones for each day.  This year I made three but realized when I was typing this I must have missed taking a picture of one (sorry!)

Just a final remember, this Saturday is my annual, "My Husband's Away, Let's Play Just Cards Class" we're we'll be making 5 of the swap cards I'm sharing this week (I made more than 5 so it'll be a surprise exactly which one's you'll be making).  The class is Saturday, July 26 at 1:00 PM and you need to RSVP by today, July 24 to save you're spot. Don't miss out on this opportunity to make these over the top cards to be ready for your future card sending needs.  Hope to see you Saturday!!!

Enjoy!

Christmas in July: WOW Gift Tag

Good afternoon!  We're about to start the closing general session for this years convention and we've been having so much fun we can't wait to see what Stampin' Up! has in store for us.  Since it's so hot year and back home in VA I decided to help cool things off a little by sharing the gift tag I made for a swap group I'm in.  This gift tag uses the Big Shot, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Decorative Label Framelits, and Striped Embossing Folder.  I sponged around all the edges with Smoky Slate ink and stamped on the Silver cardstock with the Dictionary Stamp set (make sure to let this sit since it will take a little longer to dry than our regular cardstock).  I wrapped a piece of Whisper White Organza Ribbon around the tag.

The snowflake was made with the new Simply Pressed clay.  I colored it with Bermuda Bay reinker and pressed it into the Simply Pressed Holiday Cookie stamp to get the 3D snowflake (I did sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds into the mold before adding the clay so it really sparkles in person.  The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season stamp set and I sponged around the edge.  The final touch was to add some Whisper White bakers twine for the attachment.

This tag is so fun it'll definitely dress up holiday packages and as an added bonus it actually matches one of the new Designer Series Papers that's coming out next month in the Holiday catalog.

I hope you're enjoying the projects this week, I haven't even shared them all and remember if you want to make some of these projects join me next Sunday for the special "The Boys are Away, Let's Play Just Cards Class".  We'll be making 5 of the cards I made for swaps that you're sure to love.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
