SSINKspiration Anything Goes: Garden Impressions Take on Lots of Happy Kit

Good morning!  A new week of fun to look forward to (and wondering if the remnants of Hurricane Florence will make their way to us) so I decided to change things up this week and will be sharing cards that all use the Lots of Happy All Inclusive kit.  Some of the cards are straight from the kit, and others like today's, use the stamp set to show how you can really get your most from these kits.  Today the SSINKspiration team has Anything Goes! so this card is perfect.

I started with Soft Sea Foam cardstock for the cardbase and then added Calypso Coral cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Seaside Embossing Folder.  Next I added a piece of the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper that was matted with Shady Spruce cardstock.

The greeting is stamped in Shady Spruce ink on Mango Melody cardstock and then cut out with the Big Shot and Layering Circles framelits.  To dress the greeting element up I punched a piece of vellum cardstock out with the Tailored Tag Punch and then added a piece of Gold Mini Sequin Trim looped behind the greeting for a little sparkle and the greeting was attached to the cardfront with dimensionals.

Designer series paper provides a wonderful inspiration for color combinations, I wouldn't normally think of adding these four colors together but the DSP helps pull it all together.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing to see what they're working for even more inspiration.

SSINKspiration Wedding Wishes: Better Together

Happy Friday!  Today the SSSINKspiration design team is focusing on weddings and sharing cards perfect to celebrate the special day.  I love this pattern of the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper and thought it would be perfect backdrop for this card.

I started with Pool Party cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Soft Suede cardstock as a mat for the Tranquil Tide Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper.  I wanted to dress this up so I took a piece of Vellum cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Detailed Floral Thinlits to create this delicate accent along the left side (make sure to run the vellum through the Big Shot several times to make sure it cuts all the way through).

For the greeting I used the Better Together stamp set and stamped in Tranquil Tide ink on Pool Party cardstock before cutting it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I used the Layering Ovals Framelits and Soft Suede cardstock to make the mat before attaching it to the dimensionals.  The final touch was to add a bow made from the Silver 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon (I colored it using my Tranquil Tide Stampin' Write Marker).

I love the colors on this card and all the soft florals (and of course metallic) and it is perfect for any occasion, I may use up some more of this DSP since it's retiring making more of these cards up with different greetings just to stock my stash.

Sketch Frenzy Friday: Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum

Whoo hoo!  It’s Friday and not just any Friday, but a Friday before vacation so there’s lots to be excited about in our house.  Just wrapping up school and work today before we can get started with all the fun.  I have to admit I haven’t actually taken time off for Spring Break I think since I was in Middle School so I really do feel like a school kid today (haha!)  Before all that gets started I have a really fun card for this weeks Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge.  Since Sale-a-Bration is quickly wrapping up (only 5 more days) I decided to showcase one of the great new FREE items that was added at the beginning of the month, Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack.  This is so fun, the vellum comes in a 6”x6” pad and includes 24 sheets (2 each of 12 designers).

I started with Crumb Cake for the cardbase and then added a piece of Whisper White cardstock (I do this with vellum so the image really pops).  I used my Stampin’ Write Markers and colored on the back of the vellum for a stained glass effect (I learned this when I first started stamping and it’s still great!)  For the bottom I took a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and embossed it with the Big Shot and Fancy Fans Embossing Folder.  I wrapped a couple pieces of Thick Baker’s Twine using the 2014-2016 colors that was also released as a new SAB item (In Color Accessory Pack) to help the colors really pop and tied a bow with a different color of the twine.

The greeting is from the Any Many More stamp set and was stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock with Island Indigo ink (the only non-in color I used).  The greeting was cut out with the Big Shot and the Itty Bitty Banners Framelits and popped up dimensionals.

This card is so beautiful in person and I love how the patterns and texture really take center stage.  You really do need this vellum the patterns are so fun and the stack is big enough you can use it with the Treat Bag Thinlit so there are lots of possibilities.  You check out the other design team cards for further ideas and then play along.
