SSINKspiration Card Sketch SSINKCS45: Nailed It

Good morning!  Very busy weekend around the house and with family so there wasn't much time for crafting, hoping to make up for that this week (need a little stamping therapy if you know what I mean).  Today over on the SSINKspiration blog it's time for a card sketch and I decided to use this sketch to add other Father's Day card to my card stash (the holiday will be here before we know it) and the Urban District Product Suite is so perfect for "dude" cards.

I started with Delightful Dijon cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Urban District Speciality Designer Series Paper (retiring) (I loved this patter since it is nice and subtle for a fun textural effect).  Next I added a piece of Delightful Dijon 5/8" Mini Striped Ribbon (retiring) as well as a coordinating strip of DSP.

The greeting is from the Nailed It stamp set (retiring) and was stamped in Basic Gray on Very Vanilla cardstock and then was cut out.  The circle is made out of Silver Foil cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder.  I attached the greeting with dimensionals and then the final touch was to add some Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine that I just looped a few times.

A nice and simple card with just a few touches to help dress up the card, without pushing it over the edge to being too "girly".  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team made using this sketch for inspiration and then play along, we would love for you to join us and share what you create.

SSINKspiration Card Sketch SSINKCS44: Nailed It

Good morning!  I had a wonderful time at OnStage where we were able to get a sneak peak of the new Annual Catalog and let me just say it is wonderful, I definitely need to save my money since my wish list is super long!  We're having a wonderful start to vacation, love the nice and relaxing one's but I couldn't leave you hanging this week so today I'm sharing a card I made using this months card sketch challenge over on the SSINKspiration blog.  This is a very versatile layout and thought it would be great to show off some of the great products in the Urban Underground Product Suite to make this masculine card.

I started with Delightful Dijon cardstock for the cardbase and then used a piece of Basic Gray cardstock and then embossed it with the Big Shot and Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder (these dynamic folders are so amazing and make some wonderfully detailed textures).

Next I used the Big Shot and Layering Circles Framelits to cut a circle out of the Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper and adding another coordinating strip of DSP from the package that has a great foil design.

The stamped image is from the Nailed It stamp set and was stamped in Delightful Dijon ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  After cutting out the greeting (I used Paper Snips since I didn't have the framelit set that has this shape) and then I attached it to the cardfront with dimensionals.  I decided to add one additional bling element, the Urban Underground Embellishments were perfect and actually pretty weighty which I like for this "dude" card.

I love how all the coordinating products in this suite make for easy crafting if you're short on time, which I was trying to get everything done before heading out of town and Father's Day will be here soon so it's perfect time to start building my supply of greetings for all those special guys we know and love.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using this sketch layout.  We would love for you to play along with us and share what you create!

Don't worry I have other project's I'll be sharing throughout the week so stay tuned!

SSINKspiration Manly Monday: Nailed It

Good morning and Happy Monday!  We're approaching the end of January, is there any way to get these days to slow down?  At least we got to enjoy some fun times this weekend which is really the best!  Today on the SSINKspiration blog it's Manly Monday and the designers are sharing some fun ideas for the guys in their lives.  I love these cards, maybe it's because I'm in a house full of guys so I always need "dude" cards.

I started with Delightful Dijon cardstock for the cardbase and then added Basic Black cardstock for the cardfront.  On this layer I used some Very Vanilla Craft Ink (for a past Paper Pumpkin Kit) and the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to stamp some subtle splotches on the background.

Next I took a piece of Silver Foil paper and embossed it with the Big Shot and Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder (this is such a fun new embossing folder, you'll love it!  I also added a strip of Urban Undersground Speciality Designer Paper for a punch of color.

Have you seen the new Nailed It stamp set and coordinating framelits in the Occasions catalog?  These are so fun and perfect for guys.  After stamping some of the tools I colored them with Stampin' Write markers and cut them out.  On the parts of the tool that are supposed to be metal I added some Clear Wink of Stella to add a little sparkle.

I had the idea to make the tools look like their sitting in a pants pocket so I took a piece of Dapper Denim cardstock and punched it out with the Best Badge Punch (I trimmed off the top).  To add a little texture to the pocket I took my Dapper Denim Stampin' Write Marker and just added some random marks to highlight texture.  I also used the White Gel Pen to add some stitching around the edge of the pocket.  When attaching the pocket to the cardfront I left the top open so I could easily tuck in the tools.  The final touch was to add the greeting, which is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Delightful Dijon ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I used the Big Shot and Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits to cut out the greeting and then dimensionals were used to attach the greeting.

This bundle and all the coordinating products in their years Occasions catalog are so much fun, it will make those masculine cards and projects so fun and easy (I see lots of uses coming up, especially for birthdays and Father's Day)

SSINKspiration 2017 Occasions Catalog Countdown #2: Urban Underground

All good things must come to an end, in this case it's our Christmas vacation so back to school and work we go!  Just a couple more days until the 2017 Occasions catalog is released so it's time for another additional of the SSINKspiration blog countdown, today it's about the Urban Underground Suite, one that I'm sure will be very popular for all the dudes we know and love.

I started with Delightful Dijon cardstock for the cardbase and then added a layer of Basic Gray cardstock as a mat for the cardfront which is Very Vanilla with the nuts and bolts from the Nailed It stamp set stamped all over.  Next I took a piece of paper from the awesome Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack and cut out a circle using the Big Shot and Layering Circles Framelits (I used the same framelits to cut a mat out of Delightful Dijon cardstock.

The saw image was stamped in Basic Black Ink and then colored in using Smoky Slate and Basic Gray Stampin' Write Markers.  I wanted to give the saw a little metallic look so I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the blade and bolts parts before cutting it out.

The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Delightful Dijon ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits before attaching it to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final touch was to add a bow tied with Linen Thread.

I love all the fun images in this set and cheeky sayings that go along with them, so many fun options.  The other design team members are sharing some great cards using other products from this suite so make sure to check them out and then add them to your wish list soon!
