Sketch Frenzy Friday Sketch Challenge: Get Your Santa On Christmas Thank You

Happy Friday! I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas, ours was nice and quiet and relaxing which was perfect. It's always great to see all the join the Christmas season brings to each of us. Now that the frenzy is over it's time for the clean up to begin and we get to continue to have fun, we don't head back to work until next year. Of course I had to make one more Christmas card for this weeks Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge but since the holiday is over I decided to use this for one of my Christmas thank you cards (I'm going to need a lot of these to thank people for all the lovely gifts we've received). I designed this weeks sketch and wanted to provide something that was open to lots of possibilities for fun.

I started with Sahara Sand cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Whisper White cardstock. The greeting is from the Sassy Salutations stamp set and was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink. I also used the Paper Piercing Tool and the Essentials Paper Piercing pack to punch the accent element in the top right corner. The flags of patterned paper are from the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack and cut with flag tails.

For the main stamped image I used the Get Your Santa On stamp set and stamped it in Memento Ink before coloring it in with Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities markers and the Basic Gray Stampin' Write Marker. After coloring in the Santa suit I cut the piece out with the Big Shot and Circle Collection Framelits. The mat was cut out of Garden Green cardstock and cut using the Window Collection Framelits and then embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder. Dimensionals were used to help pop the stamped image off the cardfront and I added a small bow made with some Silver 1/8" Ribbon.

The card turned out so fun, it's really helping me embrace every last minute of this holiday season, I don't want it to end. Make sure to check out he cards the other design team members are sharing and then come play along with the extra time you have this weekend.

30-Day Gratitude Challenge: Get Your Santa On

Good morning, it's Sunday and we've reached the last day of November and the end of my 30-Day Gratitude challenge. How have you been doing? We got home safely yesterday and are working on getting everything in place to start the new work/school week and month. For my last card of this challenge of course I had to make a holiday card and the new Get Your Santa On stamp set is so cute I had to pull it out, along with my Blendabilities Markers (by the way, Blendabilities will be on sale for one day only tomorrow, so make sure to take advantage).

I used Wild Wasabi for the cardbase and then embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Big Shot and Filigree Frame Embossing Folder. I did also lightly sponge around the embossing with Cherry Cobbler ink. Next I stamped the Santa from the Get Your Santa On with the Momento Ink pad and then colored it in with Blendabilities Markers. I also used the Gold Pen to color in the buckle of Santas belt. The greeting is from the Lots of Thanks stamp set, was stamped with Momento Ink on Wild Wasabi ink and then punched out with the Large Oval Punch and attached to the card with dimensionals.

This Santa is so cute (but I gave him a brown mustache and we all know it should be white) and I can't wait to use more of this set. Have you been following along with this gratitude challenge? Sketch Frenzy Friday: Get Your Santa On!

Happy Friday! I decided to take a break from Halloween and fall themed projects for this weeks Sketch Frenzy Friday card sketch challenge and give you a little Christmas fun. I created the sketch that we're playing with and I decided to break out lots of fun new products from the Holiday catalog for today's card.

I started with Smoky Slate for the cardbase and added a piece of Garden Green cardstock that's embossed with the Big Shot and the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder. Next I used the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack for both patterned pieces (this pack is awesome, it has 24 different patterns that all coordinate together for only $6.95, you’ll be crafting all holiday season!) For the stamped image I used the Get Your Santa On (this set is too cute!!) I stamped the image with Momento Ink on Whisper White cardstock so I had no problem coloring in the image with Stampin’ Write Markers. I did use the Gold Stampin’ Dazzlin’ Marker to color in the candlesticks on the mantel for a fun touch. I matted this piece with some Pistachio Pudding cardstock before attaching it to the cardfront.

For the greeting it’s from the same stamp set stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink on Smoky Slate cardstock and then punched out with the Artisan Label Punch. As a stepped up accent I added a piece of Whisper White 5/8” Organza Ribbon that was folded over and trimmed for flag ends. On top of that I added a Gold Basics Metal Button that has Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine threaded through the button holes. I used glue dots to attach the button and it holds it really well.

There’s a lot going on with this card but I really like how each element works with the others and it’s bright and cheery. I also really like how this stamp set is Photopolymer it makes lining everything up a breeze and it costs less (bonus!!) I definitely see more fun cards with this stamp set in my future, oh and gift tags also!
