Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge SSINKCC32: Feel Goods

Good morning!  What a crazy weekend, that weather really impacted our weekend activities, from Boy Scout Trout-a-ree to the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler the weather and particularly the wind really was a force to be reckoned with.  It's time for another color challenge over on the SSINKspiration blog and I decided to focus on some products from the Annual catalog that may be overlooked at times.
I started with Marina Mist cardstock for the cardbase and then layered a piece of Pear Pizzaz cardstock behind a Whisper White cardfront.  On the cardfront I started by stamping the swirl design from the Chalk Lines stamp set in Pear Pizzaz ink and then took the Clear Wink of Stella glitter pen to outline the swirls for a little sparkle (see the close up picture).  Next I took the splatter stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and stamped in both Marina Mist and Pear Pizzaz ink.  I used some Fast Fuse adhesive to attach a strip of Marina Mist 1/4" Cotton Ribbon across the center of the cardfront.
For the greeting I stamped this saying (one of my favorites!!) from the Feel Goods stamp set and stamped on Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the 2 1/2" circle punch before sponging around the edge with Pear Pizzaz cardstock.  For the mat for the circle I started by cutting a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock using the Big Shot and Deco Labels Framelits and then embossed it with the Brickwall Embossing folder (and then sponged all over with Sahara Sand ink).  I used dimensionals to attach the greeting piece to the cardfront.  To finish things off I took strip of pearls and colored them with a marker (use a sharpie or Blendabilities marker) before attaching them to the card.

I had lots of fun with this card and was really feeling this message this weekend, which we all need.   Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for inspiration and then play along with use, would to see what you come up with.

Sketch Frenzy Friday Sketch Challenge: Feel Goods

Good morning!  It's Friday which means it's time for another Sketch Frenzy Friday card sketch and we have another fun design for you to play along with us.  To help get you started the designers have come up with some great cards using the sketch as inspiration.  My card uses a bit of something retiring as well as some things sticking around for another year of fun.

The cardbase is Marina Mist and I added a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (love how the large floral images really make a statement) and matted it with Smoky Slate cardstock.  I did punch some chevron's along the bottom with the Chevron Punch and stamped on the Smoky Slate piece with the Gorgeous Grunge small splatter stamp for a little bit of texture behind the DSP.

The greeting is from the Feel Goods stamp set and I just love these sayings, so true.  I used Stampin' Write Markers to color in the stamp and stamped on Whisper White cardstock before cutting it out with the Big Shot and the Deco Labels Collection Framelits (I also sponged around the edge of the greeting with Smoky Slate ink before attaching it to the cardfront with dimensionals).  A fun Antique Brad and a knot bow made with the Whisper White Organza Ribbon are the perfect finishing touches to really make this card soft and elegant.

Now check out the sketch, there are so many fun ways you can take this so come and play along.

Just a reminder, Sunday, June 1 is the last day to order items from the Occasions catalog as well as retiring products so don't miss out (I've included easy ordering links below for the products used on this card).  Also when you order, don't forget to check out the weekly deals and clearance rack, there are some wonderful sales that you don't want to miss out on.

Paper Craft Crew Challenge: Feel Goods

Good morning!  We had another fun filled weekend that included a clean up day at Aidan's school, an awesome baseball game (we've never seen the boys play that well so it was so fun to watch, they ended up losing but are really coming together as a team), and we tried out a new local frozen yogurt store, which was AWESOME, we'll definitely be going back.  Today I'm sharing my card for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  This challenge through me off at first but then I really had fun with each of the elements and really enjoyed using all the different designer series papers (I love how are paper packs have coordinating patterns which makes mixing different patterns easy.

The cardbase is Baja Breeze (I'm sad that this color will be retiring in a little over a month so I've definitely been stocking up, have you?) and then all the designer series paper is from the Twitterpated DSP pack.  The butterfly was cut out with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die and Big Shot and I added a few pearls in the center for the body.  I used the 1 3/4" scallop circle punch to punch out the Riding Hood Red dsp.  The greeting is from the Feel Goods stamp set and was stamped in Riding Hood Red being being cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits and Big Shot and then sponging around the edge with Pink Pirouette ink before being matted with the same framelit with Pear Pizzaz cardstock (yes that's right, Pear Pizzaz is coming back into the lineup and I'm so excited!!!)  The final touch was to add three of the larger pearls along the bottom right side.

This card is so soft and fun with all the different patterns that I think really work well together.  Just a reminder Stampin' Up! will be releasing the annual catalog retirement list for stamp sets and accessories this Wednesday.  You'll definitely want to check this out (I'll be posting it to my blog) and make sure you order any items that are on your must have list.  The stamp sets will all be available through May 31 but the accessories will only be available while supplies last and I'm sure there will be some that sell out very quickly (some of the products with the retiring colors are already sold out so please don't wait, I would hate for you to miss out).  If you need any assistance, please let me know.

Have a great week!

Feel Goods Chalkboard Technique

Good morning!  We had such a crazy, on the go weekend this past weekend I didn't actually have a lot of creating time in the studio, definitely need to rectify that this weekend.  Today I wanted to share a fun card we made at last month's Just Cards class.  This features the Feel Goods stamp set and the chalkboard technique that is all the rage right now, it was so fun.  We were also able to incorporate the fun new chevron pattern from the Parker's Patterns designer series paper (I'm enjoying this paper package since it helps to make cards more masculine than some of our other papers).  The final touch was to add a Rich Razzleberry button, these buttons are so fun since there is a different pattern on each size so you have double the options (FREE during Sale-a-bration) with a bow tied with Whisper White Baker's Twine.

This card is such a nice mixture of texture and patterns I love it, plus it really let's the greeting stand front and center and this Feel Goods stamp set has such perfect sayings, LOVE IT!!!!

Just a reminder that my Spring BOGO sale and crafting blitz is this Saturday, from 2-5 and this is your opportunity to make a fun project, have yummy treats, while shopping from the catalog for all the must haves on your wish list, plus you get to take advantage of the Sale-a-Bration rewards and pick out some awesome finds from my retired stash, including stamps, DSP, Big Shot Dies, Ribbon, etc.  This is a great opportunity to stock your crafting tool box.  I hope you can make it!

Happy Stamping!

Feels Good Fab Friday Challenge

Hi friends!  I'm back after another fun filled weekend to share my card for this weeks Fab Friday Sketch Challenge.  I've been having lots of fun with the fabulous products from the Spring catalog but wanted to take a more masculine turn and the Parker's Patterns Designer Series Paper provides the perfect color palette.  The cardbase is Cajun Craze and then I added a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and Crumb Cake (embossed with the Big Shot and Woodgrain embossing folder).  The blue accent pieces are Marina Mist and were punched with the Decorative Label Punch (one on each side).  Next I added a strip of the designer series paper and the Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon as flags.

For the greeting I used the Feels Good stamp set and stamped on the Canvas Creations fabric with Early Espresso Ink.  This canvas is really soft and fun to stamp on and provides a more distressed look.  I also sponged around the edge with Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze ink, just like regular cardstock.  I even matted the canvas on Daffodil Delight cardstock (also sponged with Crumb Cake).  The final touch was to add a Naturals Button to the top corner with a bow tied with Early Espresso Baker's Twine for a soft finish.

I love how this card turned out with so many different textures and colors, you find something new to draw your attention each time you look at it.  Now check out the sketch we were working with, so fun and open to so many possibilities with shapes, etc. you've got to try it out for yourself.

I would love for you to leave a comment and let me know what you think and share your cards.

Enjoy,

Secret Garden Feel Goods Fab Friday Sketch Challenge

Good evening!  Another weekend has come to and end.  We had a great time celebrating Aidan's birthday but I know he's definitely happy to have an extra day off from school to recover, who knew a sleepover with friends could take so much out of you.  This evening I wanted to share the card I made for this weeks Fab Friday Sketch Challenge.  This challenge was lots of fun since it's a color challenge and given the colors I definitely wanted to make something cheery and Springy.  The card is so fun and uses lots of fabulous new products from the Spring catalog, including the Feel Goods stamp set, Secret Garden Stamp set and matching framelits (love that you can get the bundle for a 15% discount), as well as the Hexagon embossing folder (a must have item from the Spring catalog, the geometric patterns are a great contrast for the floral images).

After cutting out all the flower images I curled the edges with a bone folder and added Dazzling Details to the center of each flower so it has a little sparkle.  This card is so lovely and I love the messages in this stamp set, so uplifting.  We make a lot of cards but sometimes we get so busy that we only send them at major holidays and events and I'm working this year to send more handmade cards, just because since it's so awesome to receive a handmade and handwritten card and these messages are perfect for such occasions.  I hope you enjoy this weeks card, and feel free to play along and share your card as well.

Have a great week!
