Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge SSINKCC24: Six-Sided Sampler

Good morning!  It's back to another week and with the start of a new month it's time for the monthly color challenge over on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog.  I'll admit that when I first saw these colors I immediately thought of Halloween but decided to wait (just a little bit longer) before starting Halloween Projects.  My first batch of goodies from the upcoming Holiday catalog will be delivered this week and it will include some Halloween products that I'm really excited about.  For this card I decided to make an all occasion card.

I started with Calypso Coral for the cardbase and then added a piece of Whisper White cardstock that was matted with Elegant Eggplant.  On the Whisper White layer I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to stamp on the background with Calypso Coral, Elegant Eggplant, and a little Crumb Cake.  Next I added a piece of Cucumber Crush Designer Series Paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack and a little piece of Silver Sequin Trim for a little bling.

I used the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set to stamp all the hexagons using all three colors and then punched them out with the coordinating Hexagon Punch.  All the hexagons were glued onto the cardfront with the exception of the greeting and the Calypso Coral alphabet piece where I used dimensionals for a little texture.

This card is nice and fun and perfect when you want to brighten a friends day.  The other designers have shared some beautiful cards for further inspiration so go check them out and then play along with the challenge for some creative fun!

30 Days of Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 27

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving Eve!  I guess I have to admit the holiday is officially here, even if I'm not ready.  I'm so looking forward to heading out this afternoon to visit friends (it's our tradition) and it's so fun to catch up and the kids have so much fun playing today.  Before we head out I wanted to share today's gratitude card, which is also a combo again, this time with the Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge.  I really liked all the geometric elements to this sketch and knew I had to play along.

The cardbase is Crumb Cake and I added a layer of Pool Party Core'dinations Cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder and lightly sanded.  Next I added a piece of Etcetera Designer Series Paper for the tag and an accent with an In Color Boutique Details element, in Pistachio Pudding with a small piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock punched out with the 1" Circle Punch

For the hexagon images I used the Six Sided Sampler stamp set and stamped the different images in Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, and Crisp Cantaloupe (anyone hungry yet?) ink and then punched them out with the matching Hexagon Punch.  I did use a dimensional to attach just the hexagon with the greeting on it so it really stands out.

Nice and easy peasy, hope you enjoy!  Well I better get going still have a few things to do before we head out.  Everyone who is traveling, please be safe and I hope everyone has a Happy and Restful Thanksgiving.

See you back here tomorrow!

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration: Hexagon Get Well Wishes

Good morning friends!  Today over at the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog it's all about hexagons and not only are they so popular and "in" right now but I love them and use them on projects frequently.  They're so great on all types of cards, including masculine and feminine cards alike.  For my card I have a friend who's been ill recently so I decided to combine the hexagons with the Tag It! stamp set to send her special greetings that will hopefully have her on the mend soon.

The cardbase is Island Indigo and I added a layer of Whisper White cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Hexagon Embossing Folder.  Next I used the Six Sided Sampler stamp set to stamp several of the hexagon images in Basic Gray and Island Indigo ink before punching them out with the coordinating Hexagon Punch.  I used the same punch to punch out a couple of hexagons out of the Real Red Designer Series Paper.  I added a piece of Real Red 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon for a fun touch.

The greeting is from the Tag It! stamp set (this stamp set is this years Ronald McDonald stamp set so Stampin' Up! donates money from each stamp set sold to this fabulous charity so you get to help a worthy cause when you purchase this great stamp set) and I used Stampin' Write Markers to color directly on the rubber and then cut out the image with the Big Shot and the coordinating Chalk Talk Framelits (these work so great with the new Magnetic Big Shot Platform).  The greeting was attached to the card with dimensionals so it really pops up.

If you haven't tried using the products including hexagon images you've got to give it a try, I'm sure you'll love them and fall in love them.  Enjoy!

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration: Scrapbook Sketch Challenge

Good evening friends!  I hope you had an enjoyable weekend, we've officially started our beach vacation and are so excited for a nice, restful getaway.  Don't worry, I'll be sharing several projects with you this week so you'll still have lots of inspiration.  Today I'm sharing the a scrapbook page I made for this month's scrapbook sketch challenge on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog.  There are some great ideas on the blog so make sure to take the time to check out the other ideas.  I stayed pretty close to the sketch design for this one since it worked perfectly for a Christmas page from Aidan making his annual gingerbread house.

The cardbase is Crumb Cake and I used the Six Sided Sampler stamp set to randomly stamp the hexagons all over the background. I also used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and Early Espresso ink to stamp the little splatter.  The designer series paper is the Season of Style DSP and has some wonderful non-holiday specific images.  I used the DSP for the flags in the top left corner along with the decorative strip cut from the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die.  The pictures are matted on Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the journaling block is Whisper White.  I also added an Old Olive button with an Early Espresso Baker's Twine bow as an accent to the journaling block.

For the title I used the new Joy to the World stamp set and cut it out with the Apothecary Accents framelits, and trimmed along the top and bottom to make it a little shorter.  Cute little Neutrals candy dots accent the edges.  Isn't that little banner accent cute?  I used the new Label Thinlit die to cut it out and it's great since it includes the score lines so it makes it a breeze to cut and fold.  The final touch was to add three rhinestones in different sizes since everyone loves a little bling (Aidan loves to use rhinestones on his projects!)

This page turned out so fun, I love it.  I have to admit I don't scrapbook nearly enough and it's one of the things I've been working this year, I would love to get "caught up" if that's possible.  I hope you enjoyed this page and you could certainly use this sketch for a card or other project just as easily.

Happy stamping,

Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge: Six Sided Sampler Meets Bombs Away Birthday

Happy Monday friends!  What a fun filled weekend, I got to experience Hobby Lobby with a friend, this was my first visit and boy what a fun store, I could have spent all day there.  Also Aidan and Chris got home Sunday afternoon and it was so great to get the family all back together and Mocha really enjoyed having us all back.  So I was able to spend a little time in the studio this weekend so I wanted to get back to participating in some sketch challenges and was able to make some birthday cards I needed in the process.  This card is for my hubby and is for the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.  I used Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Basic Grey, Basic Black, Real Read, and Pacific Point for the color palette for this card.

I love the hexagon graphic elements that are so popular right now so I embossed the black piece with the Big Shot and the Hexagon embossing folder and then added lots of hexagon shapes using stamped pieces from the Six Sided Sampler stamp set as well as different Designer Series Paper, including (the Polka Dot Parade DSP, Brights Paper Stack, as well the retired Neutrals Paper Stack (I haven't order all the new paper, yet!).  The coordinating hexagon punch made punching these guys out super simple and they all fit together.  I also added some Whisper White and Pacific Point 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon.  The greeting is from the Bombs Away Birthday Photopolymer stamp set (love the tongue and cheek greetings!) and cut it and the mat with the Oval Collections Framelits.

I really like how this card turned out, it's fun and fresh and totally right for a dude card.

Hope you enjoy and have a great day, it's supposed to be beautiful here in Northern VA, we even have the AC off and the windows open at home, don't normally get to do that in July.

Happy stamping,

Diana
