Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge Meets Paper Craft Crew Theme Challenge: Everything Eleanor

Good morning!  What a fantabulous weekend!  The sun finally came out and Aidan was able to get his baseball game in before it started raining and then a relaxing Sunday with some great ladies at stamp class.    This morning I decided to do a mix and combined the Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge with the Paper Craft Crew theme challenge Craft Crew theme challenge for this pretty card that continues my ongoing showcase of retiring items.  These colors were perfect for the flower theme so it really seemed like the perfect combination and I decided to use the Everything Eleanor stamp set (retiring) that hasn’t had any love for awhile.

I started with Pool Party cardstock for the cardbase and then added a layer of Whisper White Cardstock.  On this piece I used the large swirly image from Everything Eleanor and Calypso Coral ink for a great base for the flowers before adding a piece of Smoky Slate Designer Series Paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack (so glad these patterns are sticking around!!)  Next I had a little strip of White Corrugated cardstock (retiring) from a class project sitting on my desk so I inked up using a sponge Dauber and Calypso Coral ink and attached it along with a piece of Pool Party Glitter Ribbon (retiring and awesome!!) around the center of the cardfront.

Next I stamped the scalloped circle label image from the same stamp set using Pool Party Ink and Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the 2 3/8” Scallop Circle Punch (retiring) and then was able to stamp the greeting from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Hostess Stamp set (retiring) using Stampin’ Write Markers to ink the image and able to get a great alignment on the stamp the first time (whoo hoo, doesn’t always happen!!) and attached this piece to the cardfront with dimensionals.

For the final flowery touches I stamped and small and large flower images from Everything Eleanor and hand cut them out with Paper Snips.   I added a Pool Party Enamel Dot from the It’s Your Party Enamel Dots (retiring) to the center of the Calypso Coral flower and attached with a dimensional.  Tiny pearls were added to the center of the large Pool Party flower for all the little filaments.  After attaching the flowers to the cardfront I gently folded the petals up to add some dimension to the card.

The soft and pretty colors really work with the flowers and Smoky Slate is a great neutral color to let the softer colors shine.  I love these stamp sets and am sad to see them go (but great things are coming) and this saying is perfect to send someone just to let them know you’re thinking of them.  Just another reminder to make sure to order your retiring favorites soon so you don’t miss out if they sell out!

Fab Friday Color Challenge #FABFri69: A Whole Lot of Lovely

Good morning!  The first days of August are here and  we’re busy enjoying every last minute before school starts up at the end of the month (how is that possible).  It’s also been an exciting week since as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I’ve had a sneak peak of the upcoming Holiday catalog and even got to order some products from it yesterday (unfortunately my wallet wouldn’t support me ordering everything on my wish list, at this time!!), love this perk of being a demonstrator!!  I had a little bit of time for some fun stamping so today I decided to play along with this weeks Fab Friday blog which is a color challenge.  Stepping back from birthdays I decided to make a fun all occasion card to let someone know how special they are.

I started with Lost Lagoon cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that I stamped with the Woodgrain Stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink and then sponged it with Crumb Cake ink.  Next I took a piece of Blackberry Bliss and ran it through the Big Shot with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die which created this fun cutout that reminds me of a peak through a fence.

For the greeting I used the A Whole Lot of Lovely Hostess Set and used Stampin’ Write Markers to ink the stamp before stamping on Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I punched the greeting out with the 2” Circle Punch and then added little pearls to the center of each card.  Behind the greeting I added some loops of Linen Thread as well as a piece of Mossy Meadow 3/8” Stitched Cotton Ribbon (used Fast Fuse to attach the ribbon so it ruffled).  I also added a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock that was cut out with the Big Shot and Floral Frames Collection Framelits and then embossed it with the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder and added a pearl to the center of the flower (colored it with a Sharpie first).

I just had a lot of fun with this card adding lots of little elements but don’t think it went overboard, and is still fairly mailable.  There are some fabulous hostess sets in this years catalog so make sure to check them out and you can get them for FREE, ask me how!

Can You Case it? Design Team - Color Challenge CYCI #76

Good morning!  The rain is finally stopping, WOW what an interesting day yesterday!  Today Aidan and are up and out of the house early to volunteer at a local triathlon, this is our first time working a race and we’re both excited to cheer on the racers and a triathlon is such an unusual event, should be fun.  Of course since it’s Sunday I have a card for your for this weeks Can You Case It? Sketch challenge.  We were given a color challenge to use the new 2015-2017 In Colors and I kind of misread the instructions and thought we had to use all 5 so I made it harder for myself than I needed to but used all new products which was lots of fun.

I started with Tip Top Toupe cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of the Color Me Irresistible Speciality Designer Series Paper (love this type of embossed paper since I can color however I want!). I used sponges to sponge the different In Colors on the paper to create a type of rainbow and then matted it with Whisper White cardstock so it really popped against the cardbase.

For the greeting I used the new Hostess Set, A Whole Lot of Lovey and used Stampin’ Write Markers to color the greeting in before stamping on Whisper White cardstock.  I used the Big Shot and the Circle Collection Framelits to cut out the greeting and then matted it with a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock that was punched out with the 2 ½” Circle Punch and attached to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final touch was to add a knot I tied using the Tip Top Toupe  1” Dotted Lace Trim (actually double knotted it so the knot was bigger) and attached it to the cardfront with a couple of glue dots.

I love how the white rain drops pop against the colors in the background and the greeting is a soft contrast which is so pretty.  Make sure to check out the other design team creations for further inspiration and then come play along, we love to see what others create.
