Paper Craft Crew Weekly Challenge #659: Endless Love

Good morning,

With all this cold and crazy snow lately I've been spending more time indoors which means more time in the craft studio, which always makes me happy so this week I'm playing along with the Paper Craft Crew weekly challenge.  I fell in love with the Made with Love product suite when it was released and decided to use the Hearts Gusseted Treat Bags to make valentine treats for my kiddo and his housemates.  These bags are large so they will hold a lot, chocolate in this case.

To decorate the bag I started with a piece of DSP from the Made with Love Designer Series Paper and used the Simply Scored Tool to score every half inch and then accordion folded it.  I used my glue gun and a circle punched from cardstock to create the circle, so fun!

Next, I used the Endless Love stamp set to stamp the greeting on Basic White cardstock .  The heart is from the same stamp set and is heat embossed with Gold Metallic Embossing Powder before being cut out using the coordinating Endless Love Dies and popped up with dimensionals.  The final touch was to tie a bow using some Bubble Bath 1/8" Faux Linen Ribbon.

Nuts and Bolts Valentine's Gifts

Happy Valentine's Day!  

I wanted to share a fun collection of treats and a card I made for Aidan for Valentine's day (yes he's 16 but these little robots are just too cute, and really he'll like the treats inside most, haha!)

All these use the Nuts and Bolts stamp set and I used the Stampin' Blends to color the images out.  The designer series paper is the Sweet Talk DSP and cardstock colors were picked to coordinate.  The dies are used are the Stitches Shapes and Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder dies.

SSINKspiration Valentine's in 3D: Sealed with a Kiss

Good morning!  Valentine's day isn't just about cards, of course chocolates, sweets, and gifts are always popular gifts so today SSINKspiration designers are sharing some fun 3D projects perfect to shower love. 

Chocolate is one of my favorite treats and when I saw these chocolate lips I knew they would be perfect for my love.  They also fit perfectly in our 2" x 8" cello bags so this quick any easy treat wrapper came to mind.

I took a piece of Sending Love Designer Series Paper and wrapped it over the top of the cello bag and attached it to the cello bag with the Handheld Stapler (this stapler is retiring so once supplies are exhausted they are gone, it is so easy to use you need it in your toolbox).  Next I used the Sealed with Love stamp set and stamped the greeting in Versamark ink on Basic Black cardstock and then heat embossed it with the Heat Tool and Silver Emboss Powder and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Sweet & Sassy Framelits. 

I stamped the kiss using Real Red ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out with Paper Snips before attaching it to the tag topper with a dimensional.  I wanted a little something more to dress this treat bag up so I tied a bow using some Silver Metallic Ribbon (a SAB freebie) and attached it to the front of the bag with a glue dot.

This treat is so fun, I just want to eat it up (haha)!  It was also quick and easy to make so if you needed to make multiples it would be a breeze.  Oh, and I found these yummy kiss candies (oh I may have had to try a couple) at the local Wegman's in the bulk buy section (I like candies in this section since I can buy as little or as many as I want).

SSINKspiration Valentine's: Going Global Baker's Box

Good morning!  Can you believe Valentine’s Day is less than a week away?  I know that there are people (myself included) who are still working on wrapping up those cards and gifts and maybe there are some who haven’t started yet (gasp!!)  We’ll we’re here to help, today on the SSINKspirationblog it’s another addition of Valentine’s Projects so if you’re still looking for ideas look no further.  I decided to change things up and instead of a card I’m sharing a cute baker’s box I made.  I love the new Baker’s Box Thinlit (and I was super surprised to see that this is one of this weeks Weekly Deals so you really have no reason not to get it!!) and not only does it make these boxes super easy but they hold quite a bit as well. 

I started with the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper (FREE during Sale-a-bration but only through February 15!!) and cut two pieces out using the Big Shot and the Baker’s Box Thinlit Die.  Next I took the Sweetheart Punch and punched a heart out to create a window and covered it with a piece of Window Film before attaching the sides to make the box (Fast Fuse made this super easy).  I did use a Handheld punch to punch out the holes at the top of the box but there are little pieces in the thinlit set so you could cut them out with those as well, and used some Basic Black 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon to tie the box closed (after filling it of course!)

For the tag I started by taking a piece of the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper (I love that this print doesn’t have any green so it totally works for Valentine’s, whoo hoo!!) and ran it through the Big Shot with the Tags and Labels Thinlits.  I used the Sweetheart Punch to punch a heart out of the Red Glimmer Paper for a little sparkle.  For the greeting I used the Going Global stamp set and stamped it in Basic Black and used a Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the tiny heart before punching it out with the Sweetheart Punch, which coordinates perfectly.  A dimensional was used on the top heart for some added dimension and it finish out the tag. 

This box is for my sweetheart but I liked how it turned out so well I decided to use these for Aidan’s teachers gifts (with a different saying) and we’re going bake Red Velvet Cookies and Chocolate Chip/M&M cookies as a fun and festive treat (and since I like to bake smaller cookies I’ve figured I can fit 4 inside each box) which will be perfect.  Also since I used a package of the SAB designer series paper it really helped cut the costs down.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration February Blog Hop: Hearts, Hearts, Everywhere!

Happy Thursday, it’s time for this months Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration blog hop and with this time of year it’s only fitting that this months theme is all about hearts!  I know there are people out there who are still either looking for the perfect gift for their loved one or haven’t even started looking so this hop is perfect as we’re giving you lots of fabulous ideas and you have plenty of time (Valentine’s Day is this Saturday, just in case you forgot, haha!!!)

The first project I have for you is a card that uses two sets, Groovy Love, and That’s the Ticket, these sets are both in the Idea Book so you may have overlooked them with all the Occasions catalog excited.  I started with Soft Suede for the cardbase and then added a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I used the Hearts and Stars Masks and Real Red ink to sponge the hearts on the cardstock.  Next I added a couple of flags using the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper.  For the heart I started by stamping the outline heart from the Groovy Love stamp set with Versamark Ink on Brushed Gold Cardstock and then heat embossed it with the Heat Tool and Black Embossing Powder and then punched it out with the 2” Circle Punch.  The heart is from the same stamp set and was stamped on Calypso Coral cardstock with Memento Ink (you could also heat emboss this if you wanted) and punched it out with the Sweetheart Punch and attached it to the circle with dimensionals.  A double bow tied with Basic Black Baker’s Twine is a perfect accent.

The greeting is from the That’s the Ticket stamp set and was stamped with Memento Ink on Soft Suede cardstock and then punched out with the Ticket Builder Punch.  Of course I needed an extra shot of bling so I added a small heart that was punched out of Gold Glimmer Paper using the punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and attached it with dimensionals

You know how much fun I have with gifts so I had to make a cute little container for Aidan’s Valentine’s Treats.  I started with the Hamburger Bigz Die and my Big Shot which made this box super easy.  I used Tombow Liquid glue on all the corners to make the box hold it’s shape.  Next I added a piece of DSP once again using the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack and then tied a bow around the box using some Silver Satin Ribbon.  The tag for the box is uses the Groovy Love set again for the heart (stamped this time in Basic Gray ink) and the greeting is from the Snuggles and Smootches Photopolyer stamp set.  I tied the whole tag around my ribbon using some more of the Basic Black Baker’s Twine.  

These projects turned out so cute and I’m still having so much fun playing with all the great love and heart themed products we have but I’m going to have move on soon (until I start thinking about anniversaries).

Extra Valentine Treats

 Good afternoon!  I'm back again with a second post today, you didn't think I'd let Valentine's Day pass without sharing some more projects did you?  These are the projects I made for Chris, I love the coffee cup images from the Perfect Blend stamp set and since I think we're the perfect pair I thought they would be perfect.  I used paper piercing to make the cup Crumb Cake, the lid Whisper White, and used Real Red Designer Series Paper for the coffee collars.  The Gorgeous Grunge is perfect with this stamp since the splatters look like coffee stains.  The greeting is from the Love You More stamp set and I stamped it in Early Espresso and then just colored in the "Love" with a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.  The final touches were to add some Gold Sequins (I cut them apart so I could attach them individually) and then a little piece of Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon. 

For my second project  made a cute little wrapper for a box of Jelly Belly Conversation Beans I found (Chris is addicted to Jelly Belly Jelly Beans right now).  I just wrapped a piece of Crumb Cake around the box and then added a piece of Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack Paper around the box.  I used the Angled Tag Topper Punch to create the tag and then made it a little narrower by trimming down the sides after punching.  The stamp is from the Love You More stamp set and I added a coordinating piece of Fresh Prints DSP along the bottom and used some Soft Suede 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon to attach the tag.

Monster Valentine Treats, Three Ways

Good morning!  It's almost Valentine's Day, do you have all your cards and projects finished?  I'm still wrapping up the last couple items but I wanted to share some fun and easy ideas to give you some inspiration.  One of the great kits that Stampin' Up! offered this year were the Monster Hugs Valentine Treats in both a Boy (Item 132162) and Girl (Item 132163) Version.  These kits are great because you got all the supplies you need to make 18 of these cute little monsters for only $5.95.  Here are three different ideas all using the kits which are super easy and cute.

These are the basic treats, all you need to do is write the names for the Valentine's attach the candy and wrap the monster's arms around and add the little eyeball and heart, so cute!

For the next version I needed to make some candy treat cards for my Mom and Grandma to give to some special kids so I took the exact same monster and attached it to the front of the card.  For this card I used the  Adorning Accents Embossing Folder for the Heart Embossed strip, the Delightful Dozen Stamp set, and a Rhinestone for the center of the stamped heart.

The final treat is a little valentine box that I found the template online by a fellow demonstrator, Julie Davison, you can find her template HERE.  I gave Aidan the option of how he wanted to use the monster valentine's for his class gifts and he quickly decided on the boxes, because "then I can give more candy", too funny!  Julie's little boxes were so perfect I didn't change a thing and I was able to fit four little pieces of candy inside for a nice little treat.  The "I Like You" stamp set is from the You're Lovely stamp set that you can year FREE this year during Sale-a-bration and it was cut out with the Big Shot and the Hearts a Flutter framelits.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog: Love You More, Valentine's Ideas!

 Good morning!  I hope you're still enjoying all your holiday festivities and are able to relax some more this week.  We're back safe and sound from our cruise and we had an amazing time but I'm so glad we still have a few more days until we have to get back into the school and work routine.  So today I'm sharing several projects over on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog and since Christmas is over I decided to share some fun projects using the new projects in the Valentine's Special, A Whole Lotta Love!  These products are so fun and will really make it easy to create cute and fun cards, treats, etc. in a breeze.

 

The first project I have is a card and it uses the Love You More stamp set.  The cardbase is Pool Party and then I added a layer of Crumb Cake that was embossed with the new Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (this is one of the awesome new Sale-a-bration items you can earn for FREE in just a few weeks)l.  After embossing the cardstock I used a sponge dauber to lightly spread some Whisper White craft ink over the impressions to make them stand out.  Next I added a piece of Real Red Polka Dot Paper from the Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper along with some Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon.

 

For the main stamped image, I used the Love You More stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink and colored in the heart with a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.  This piece was cut out with the Big Shot and the Circle Collection Framelits and matted on Pool Party cardstock punched out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch and then Chocolate Chip cardstock cut with the Windows Collection Framelits.

 

 For my second project I made a love note card, which is perfect for Valentine's day since it's a 3x3 card. This card has a Pear Pizzaz cardbase and I used the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder to emboss on the Early Espresso Core'dinations cardstock and then sanded it.  For the scalloped square and square pieces I used tags out of the Pop 'n Place Gift Tags set (this set is great not just for Christmas).  The bird image is also from the Love You More Stamp set and I cut him out with Paper Snips and attached him with dimensionals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I had to make a treat as well since it is Valentine's Day and the Sweetheart Treat bags are so cute.  The kit comes with the bags, Pool Party Baker's Twine, and the printed flags.  All I did was stamp the words from the Love you More stamp set in Basic Gray ink and added a heart cut out with the Small Heart Punch and the Silver Glimmer Paper.  These bags are pretty decent in size, I have three fun sized Hershey bars inside (what's Valentine's without chocolate?) and there's still plenty of room.

 

I hope I've given you some fun ideas to use the new Valentine's products and remember these products are only available while supplies last so don't wait!

One More Valentine Share, For the Kiddo!

Good evening!  I hope you’re having a fun day, showing all your friends and family how much you care for them today (and every day).  Valentine’s Day has a whole new meaning and freshness when you have kids.  I have so much fun making gifts for Aidan and other kids in our lives and have so much fun seeing how the kids embrace the holiday.  Aidan was up very early this morning and we had to exchange gifts first thing this morning (think of like Christmas) and was so excited about the cards and thoughts that people put into each item.  I thought I would hop back online and share with you the card and gift I made for Aidan this year.  First of all you have to know that Aidan loves glitter and believes you can never have too much (a kid after my own heart!)  So this card uses the Pool Party Coredinations cardstock and I ran it through the Big Shot with the Hexagon embossing folder (I love how you can sand this paper and see the core color of the cardstock for some extra dimension.  The scalloped heart is from the More Amore Speciality DSP and are laser cut.  I also added hearts punched from the same DSP with the small heart and large heart punches. 

I also used Red and Silver Glimmer paper and the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die for the XOXO.  The greeting was from the valentine treat bundle and I thought it was perfect for a kid’s valentine and I used Dazzling Diamonds and a two way glue pen to add glitter round the edge of the heart.  Aidan was so excited and loved the card.

The second project I’m sharing is a little treat bucket that held all of Aidan’s Valentine’s treats.  I love to get the little pails from the Dollar Spot of my local store and while initially I would buy all the different holiday versions but now that I have so many I like to get plain ones that I can dress up as necessary so their more versatile so I got a silver pail with polka dots.  All I did was add a strip of More Amore fabric that I just tore and tied a big fluffy bow.  Nice and simple.  Aidan like it but I think he liked the Pokemon cards in the pail more than the actual pail itself.

Recycled Valentine Treat Tin

Good evening!  This is one of my busiest weeks of the year, not only do we have Valentine’s Day, which I love but the day after is my son, Aidan’s birthday so I’m busy trying to wrap up projects, gifts, etc. and I’m a little behind.  Tonight I thought I would share a tin I recycled to create this fun Valentine gift.  One of my co-workers is a huge tea drinker and the only tea he drinks comes in the great metal tins and recently I found a stash of several dozen empty tins in his office (apparently he has an equally large stash at home so if you’re local and would like some of these tins let me know and I can probably hook you up).  Anyway, I decided to decorate this tin for Valentine’s day.  I wrapped the tin with Pool Party Cardstock and More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper.  Next I took a piece of cotton ribbon (loved that this ribbon carried over so it’s still available) and I cut off both edges and tore it off so I had some distressed edges and layered this ribbon with the Real Red 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon and tied a knot.  The tag is one of the tags I made in MDS2 with the More Amore digital kit and I just added a red glimmer heart punched out with the small heart punch. 

For the top of the tin I wrapped around the edge with Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon and added a piece of Basic Gray cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Chevron embossing folder.  The rest of the decoration is one of the Real Red laser cut hearts from the More Amore Specialty DSP, layered with a large heart punched with the DSP and a Raspberry Ripple cardstock and the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit.  The final embellishment was made by punching two scallop circles with the new 7/8” scallop circle punch, crumpled them and sponged with Crumb Cake ink and I added a Primrose Petal Dalia for the center.

This tin is so cute and is full of special treats, which I can’t share so I don’t spoil the surprise for my special friend.  There’s still time to make a special gift or card for your loved ones to let them know how much you love them, I can help with any details you need, just let me know.

Easy MDS2 Valentine Treats

Happy Friday, TGIF!!!!  I'm looking forward to a great weekend, I'm taking a photography class and can't wait to learn some new things to do with my camera but I'm kicking the weekend off tonight with an Introduction to My Digital Studio 2 class and I can't wait to share some of the fabulous new features of this program.  It really makes gift giving a breeze.  I love to give treats for Valentine's and have been working to get them all done early so I wanted to make something simple for Aidan's teachers so I used the More Amore Ensemble and took the little card elements and added some heart images and stamped greetings to make these cute little bag toppers (I love the ability to color and crop stamps in MDS2 so you can make just what you need).  Then all I did was attach the pieces to cardstock and stapled them to cello bags that I filled with different candies!

 

Who wouldn't love to get these little treats?
