SSINKspiration Halloween Fun: Cauldron Bubble

Good morning!  This morning I embarking on an awesome race adventure with 11 fellow runners where we will run 200 miles over the next two days as a relay race.  It's going to be fun and exhausting and I can't wait.  Before heading out I wanted to share one more project I made using my featured Product of the Week, the Buffalo Check stamp set.  Today the SSINKspiration team is sharing Halloween projects so I thought it would be fun to use this background stamp for a Halloween card.  Now I have to worn you, I may have gone a little overboard on the bling, there are four different blingy items for lots of fun.

I started with Pumpkin Pie cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Basic Black cardstock that was spritzed with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol (I used the Stampin' Spritzer for easy application!)

Next I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the Buffalo Check using Lemon Lime Twist ink and then used my Gorgeous Grape Stampin' Write Marker to draw lines on the print to make flannel.

For the main image I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped using the Cauldron Bubble stamp set, the greeting is in Pumpkin Pie ink and I stamped the bubbles coming up from the cauldron using Basic Black ink and then used my Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color the stars.

Isn't this cauldron colored perfectly?  This is actually from the Toil and Trouble Designer Series Paper and cut it out using the Cauldron Framelits and then attached it with dimensionals.  The spider web is also another piece of the framelit set and was cut out of Silver Foil Paper.  This piece was matted with Gorgeous Grape cardstock before being attached to the cardfront.

To finish off the card I added a bow tied with Basic Black  5/8" Glittered Organza Ribbon and then added a rhinestone to the center of the bow as well as on the spider web.

It's great that with the Buffalo Check stamp set just by changing up the colors you can use it for any occasion, and come on, lots of sparkle and bling make a project extra special.  Now's the time to get working on your Halloween projects so make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for more inspiration.

Buffalo Check Embossed Background: Rooted in Nature

Good afternoon!  Today I'm continuing to share ideas using the fabulous Buffalo Check stamp set and after yesterday where we stamped snowflakes on top of the check I was trying to figure out what else we could do, so I thought, how about embossing?  I also decided to take a bit more organic look and feel to the card and absolutely love the end result.

For this card I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added Tranquil Tide cardstock as the mat for the cardfront.  To make the cardfront I started with Mint Macaron cardstock and stamped with the Buffalo Check stamp set using Tranquil Tide ink.  Next I used the Big Shot and Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder to emboss the cardfront and sponged using Crumb Cake ink to help distress the image and make the swirls really pop.  The designer series paper is from the Nature's Poem DSP package and I lightly sponged on it as well with Crumb Cake ink to "dirty it up" and then wrapped a piece of Tranquil Tide 3/8" Mini Ruffled Ribbon to hide the border.

For the stamped image I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set and stamped the large stump image on Crumb Cake cardstock with Crumb cake ink and then cut it out freehand with my Paper Snips.  The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink and accented with several pearls I lined up in a row.  I used the leaf dies (both cutting and embossing) from the Nature's Roots Framelits to cut the leaf out of Rich Razzleberry cardstock and sponged it before attaching it behind the greeting which was raised up with dimensionals.

This card has the perfect mix of colors and textures to make you want to touch each element (and it's still super flat and mailable, bonus!)  I have so say, if I haven't convinced you of how awesome the Buffalo Check stamp set is there may be nothing that will convince you, but you will regret not having it in your stampin' stash so don't wait to place your order!!

Sending Buffalo Check Blizzard Christmas Greetings!

Good morning!  I'm sharing another card today that uses my featured Product of the Week, the Buffalo Check stamp set and I decided to change things up and go for a cool winter time feeling with this card (even though I'm hoping it's quite a while before we start seeing snowflakes around here, haha!).

On this card I used Whisper White Thick cardstock for the cardbase and then added Night of Navy cardstock as the mat for the cardfront that's Balmy Blue.  On the cardfront I started by stamping with Balmy Blue ink and the Buffalo Check stamp set.  I wanted to dress the background up so I used the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set and stamped snowflakes all over the background using Night of Navy ink.  Night of Navy 1/2" Gingham Ribbon was wrapped around the cardfront and tied a knot.

There are some fun and unique greetings in this stamp set and I stamped in Night of Navy and then added the swirly on the bottom with Balmy Blue.  The Big Shot and Layering Ovals framelits were used to cut out the greeting so I could attach it to the cardfront with dimensionals.

To finish off the card I added a large rhinestone in the center of the swirls and then cut a small snowflake out of Silver Foil using the Big Shot and Seasonal Layers Thinlits.

This card has lots of fun patterns and textures and definitely puts you in the holiday mood.  And I love the unique look of the background with the checks and snowflakes.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge 299: Big Wishes

Good morning!  I must say, the Buffalo Check stamp set in this years Holiday catalog is very unassuming when you first look at it but there are so many possibilities.  I decided to use this stamp set with a fun twist as a background for today's card using the Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge colors.  As the temperatures get cooler cozy and warm is always key and what is better at that than flannel (I'm counting down the days until we can switch to flannel sheets for the winter, just saying!!)

For this card I used Flirty Flamingo cardstock for the cardbase and then added Night of Navy cardstock for the cardfront.  For the decorative background I used Whisper White cardstock and stamped using the Buffalo Check stamp using Gorgeous Grape ink.  Then I used the Night of Navy Dark Stampin' Blends and using a ruler drew lines to create flannel plaid.  I wrapped a piece of Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the cardfront and tied a fun knot.

For the main stamped image I used the Big Wishes stamp set and used Stampin' Write Markers from my three color challenge colors to color the stamp for a fun random effect and then stamped on Whisper White cardstock.  I used the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out the greeting and used the Layering Ovals framelits to cut out a scallop oval out of Flirty Flamingo cardstock and attached the greeting piece with dimensionals.

This card is so fun and I just love the look of the flannel background, and think you an make flannel in any color combination you need with this one stamp set.  Make sure to check out the other design team cards using this color challenge and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.
