Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #456: One More Year

Good morning,

What a fun weekend, in addition to attending the Philadelphia Eagles Superbowl Victory Parade, we were able to spend part of the day with Aidan on his birthday and celebrate him turning 20!  I'm sharing the card I made for him for this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge creation.

For this card I started with a carbase of Boho Blue cardstock and I cut 1" off the right side front so the inside panel was partially visible.  On the inside I added a piece of Basic White cardstock as well as strip of  Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper.

On the front I took another pattern from the DSP pack and matted it with Mossy Meadow cardstock for the cardfront.

Next I cut 2 circles with the Stitches Shapes dies, one in Misty Moonlight that was embossed with the Plaster Painting 3D embossing folder, and the other was Basic White.  One the white circle I stamped the birthday cake from the One More Year stamp set and colored it in with Stampin' Blends.  Now remember when you attach the white circle to the front to NOT add adhesive to the right side as it will hang over the edge of the cardfront and will will inadvertently seal your card shut, haha!

The greeting is from the same stamp set (just used part of the stamp) and was stamped on Pebbled Path cardstock before being cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Dies and attached with dimensionals.  I added a trio of Drusy Adhesive Backed Embellishments on the greeting for a fun accent.  To finish off the card I cut out the "20" from Silver Foil and the Birthday Celebration dies so I could personalize the card with his age.

I was so happy with how this card turned out and know the kiddo appreciated spending time together even though he's away at school.

Adoring Hearts Valentine

Good morning and Happy Valentine's Day,

I promise I'm wrapping up my valentine's projects but had to share the card I made for hubby, which shocker, uses a different stamp set!

This card starts with a cardbase of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and then added a piece of Basic White cardstock for the cardfront that's embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder and then added a strip of the Marbled Elegance Speciality Designer Series Paper.  Before attaching I did wrap a piece of Gold Twisted Thread and tied a bow.

I used a piece of Gold Foil and the Spotlight on Nature dies to cut the large circle.  To this I added a circle cut from Basic White cardstock using the Stitches Shapes dies.  On this piece I stamped the floral heart from the Adoring Hearts stamp set using Cherry Cobbler ink.

I cut a smaller heart suing the Hearts of Elegance dies and the Marbled Elegance DSP as well as the stitched heart using Gold Foil and popped it up with dimensionals.  The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Basic White cardstock.  I fussy cut the greeting and popped it up with dimensionals.

Paper Craft Crew Weekly Challenge #608: Hearts of Elegance

Good morning,

It's the week leading up to Valentine's of course I'm still crafting and sharing.  Today I'm sharing the cute gifts I made for my son's roommates for this weeks Paper Craft Crew weekly challenge.  One of the items that was released when the Hearts of Elegance bundle and all the associated awesomeness was the Gift Bag Combo Pack which had 2 sizes of bags (8 each) which were perfect for gifting.  I used the smaller bags on this project (he does have 6 roommates and these bags held quite a bit of chocolate which of course is always a hit!).

In crafting these treats I added a piece of the Marbled Elegance Speciality Designer Series Paper and matted it with Basic Black cardstock.  For one of the designs I wrapped a piece of Black & Very Vanilla 3/8" Large Checked Ribbon and the other design used a bow tied with Gold 1 1/2" Open Weave Trim.  Other than the ribbon everything else on both designs is the same.

Finishing off the bag the greeting is from the Hearts of Elegance stamp set and was stamped on Basic White cardstock and cut out with one of the heart dies from the Hearts of Elegance dies.  I used the same dies to cut the black heart which is stitched around the edge and attached with dimensionals.  The final touch was to add a couple Adhesive Backed Heart Sequins.

I love how these turned out and hope the boys enjoy them as well, being away from home it's always nice to get a little surprise in the mail.  Make sure to check out the other projects the design team is sharing and we would love for you to play along and share what you create.

Lots of Hearts Valentine's

Good morning,

It's a snowy day here and if you are lucky enough to have the day off (I'm working but that's good) it's perfect for working on those Valentine's cards and gifts ahead of Friday.  Today I wanted to share a card we made in last month's card class.

This card stars with Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Basic Black cardstock and then a Basic White cardstock cardfront that's embossed with the Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folder.  Next I added a strip of the Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper along the left side and wrapped a piece of Gold 1 1/2" Open Weave Trim.

The large black heart was cut using Basic Black cardstock and the Hearts of Elegance dies.  The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Basic White cardstock before cutting it out with the Greetings of the Season Dies (these are on the Last Chance List so they are on sale so make sure you get then before they sell out).  I sponged around the edge of the greeting piece with Basic Black ink before attaching to the cardfront with dimensionals.

Final touches were to tie some more of the Gold 1 1/2" Open Weave Trim through the hole on the greeting and then added a few Adhesive Backed Heart Sequins.

I just keep saying, with this stamp set, dies, and DSP you really can't go wrong, you're going to make beautifully fabulous projects that all coordinate to perfection!
