Paper Craft Crew Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #PCC331: Hello Cupcake

Good morning!  It's my birthday week so the salute to birthday treats continues, today I used thePaper Craft Crew Tic-Tac-Toe challenge to make this yummy (and calorie free card) as a perfect farewell to Sale-a-bration!  I decided to go across in the center with this card using Metallic, Monochromatic, and Stitched Rectangular Dies (quickly becoming a new favorite!)

I started with Whisper White Thick cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Call Me Clover cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Subtles Dynanic Embossing Folder before adding a piece of Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper that I cut out with the Stitched Rectangular Framelits (I ran it through the Big Shot twice to get the stitching on all for sides given the size of my DSP.

For the main stamped image I used the Hello Cupcake stamp set and stamped the cupcake base in Smoky Slate ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the frosting for the cupcake also on Whisper White using Call Me Clover ink (full strength for one layer and stamped off once for the lighter layer) and then cut them out with the Big Shot and Call Me Cupcakes Framelits.  I used the same stamp set and framelits to cut out the little cupcake pick as well and then used the Stitched Rectangular Framelits to edge the cardstock before matting it with Champagne Foil Paper.

To finish off the card I used a greeting from the More than Words stamp set and after cutting it out with the same framelits sponged around the edge and attached it with dimensionals.  A few Metallic Rhinestones are the perfect sprinkles to finish off the card!

I know this card has all the things that would help me celebrate my special day!  Make sure to check out the other design team cards for inspiration and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #311: Amazing Life

Good morning!

Being it's my birthday week I seem to have birthday's, and cake on the brain, oh my!  Today I decided to use our upcoming Cherry Blossom season as inspiration for this fun birthday card using the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.

I started with Soft Sea Foam cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper as the cardfront.  To this I added my cherry blossoms which were cut using the Big Shot and Seasonal Layers Thinlits (Early Espresso for the branch and Melon Mambo for the flowers) and then I colored some pearls using my Mango Melody Stampin' Blends Marker for the center accent of the flower.

For the greeting I used the Amazing Life stamp set and stamp the greeting in Night of Navy ink and cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I also stamped the cake image on a scrap piece of paper and colored it with Stampin' Blends (note, I used Momento Basic Black ink so it didn't run since I was using the Blends) and then cut the cake out with Paper Snips.  I attached both the greeting and the cake to the cardfront with dimensionals.

The final touch on the card was to tie a bow that was made using Whisper White 1/8" Sheer Ribbon that I colored with the Mango Melody Dark Stampin' Blends Markers.

Come on, flowers and cake, doesn't that pretty much spell the great start to a birthday celebration?  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for inspiration using this sketch challenge and then we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create!

Don't forget, this is the final week of Sale-a-bration so if there are still some of the free products you want to earn the products used on today's card would be perfect to add to your next order and help you earn those freebies!!

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge #FabFri159: Home to Roost

Good afternoon!

We finally had some significant signs of spring this weekend and it made my heart happy (we even got some time out in the yard working on cleaning out the beds for the new year).  Because we were on the go I only had a little bit of time to relax and craft but I'll take every bit I can get.  Today's card uses the Fab Friday sketch challenge as inspiration as well as the Home to Roost stamp set (this is the last week you can earn this stamp set for FREE!)

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added Cherry Cobbler cardstock as a mat for the cardfront that is Very Vanilla cardstock which I stamped with the Buffalo Check stamp using Basic Black ink and then I sponged around the edges with Soft Suede ink (I actually sponged around all the stamped pieces so I'm just stating it once).

Next I took a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and embossed it with the Big Shot and Corrugated Dynamic Embossing Folder and then I played around with the top left corner until I could separate the cardstock layers and rolled down the top layer for a fun effect.  For the main stamped image I stamped the rooster in Basic Black ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and colored it in with Stampin' Blends before cutting it out with the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits and attached the oval with dimensionals.

To finish off the card I added a piece of Night of Navy 1/2" Gingham Ribbon and a knot using Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon.  The greeting was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and then punched out with the Classic Label Punch and attached with dimensionals.

This card has a fun farm-chic look and I love the buffalo check mixed with all the other elements, lots of texture to entertain the eye.
