Important Stampin’ Up! Announcement…..

First, on JUNE 1st, SU! will be publishing the Last Chance Stamp Set list AND the Last Chance Accessories list (formally known as the retired list)! What does that mean for you? Well, it means that you will have the entire month of June to purchase those retiring stamp sets that are on your must have list. Because SU! produces all our own stamps – they will not sell out (as they say, we can always make more). A change from previous years is that the retiring accessories list will be released at the beginning of the month as well, however since these accessories are NOT produced by SU! once they sell out, they are gone, gone, gone! While I won’t know until June 1st the full list of retiring items, I can tell you that anything with a current In Color in it will be on that retiring list, so if there is something on your must have list, please place your order ASAP. Remember not only can you order from me, but you can also order online, 24-7 on my website.

Now, on the next creation….So I have to admit that my creations definitely tend toward the feminine side and I have a hard time making a masculine card (that doesn’t involve a tree at least). Luckily for me Stampin’ Up! released a great new stamp set in the current Occasions Mini Catalog, Andy Many Mower. I created this card with my husband in mind whose 3 favorite things (after Aidan and I) are the remote, recliners, and refreshments…

I started with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the Main Image in Basic Black using the And Many Mower Stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. For the colored items I used the Summer Sun and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers. For the Pacific Point I used a Blender Pen with the Pacific Point Reinker so I didn’t need to refill my blender pen so frequently. This works great, just a word to the wise, the blender pen really soaks up the ink so be prepared, I’m still getting the Pacific Point out of my pen (great technique to use with a Blender pen that has about served it’s useful life!) Then I matted the image onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock. I stamped the “relax” from the same stamp set and colored it in as above but punched it out with the Designer Label Punch and mounted that to a 1 3/8” Circle Punch. Then I used a piece of Summer Sun Cardstock as well as Good Morning Sunshine DSP as well as a band of Pacific Point Grosgrain Ribbon. This was then mounted to a card base of Pacific Point (one of this years In Colors which will be retiring at the end of next month L) to finish out the card. I stamped “Happy Father’s Day” on the inside but you could definitely use a different sentiment as needed.

Hope you have a Happy Thursday!

What a dreary day…..

After a beautiful Memorial Day weekend here in VA we started the week with rain, at least it didn’t spoil the weekend plans! As I’m new to blogging, thought I would share a couple cards from this months stamp-a-stack.

The first card was definitely meant to get everyone into the summer mood and uses the Cheers to You stamp set. This is a Diana original and was kind of out of my normal style as I tried to use colors that I don’t use often. I started with a base of Tempting Turquoise and layered a piece of Rainbow Sherbet DSP (which is part of the Designer Paper Promotion going on now through the end of the month!) to set the tone. I punched the drink, I’m thinking Margarita with Basic Black Ink and colored it in with Stampin’ Write Markers. Then I added a touch of Crystal Effects to the drink and let it dry so it had a nice glossy look. Then I matted the drinks on Apricot Appeal and Tempting Turquoise cardstock and set them at an angle down the card. Then I used my Photo Corner Punch and punched corner pieces out of Gable Green with I attached with a Silver Brad. The final touch was to stamp “Cheers to You!” in Basic Black. Doesn’t this card just make you want to sit by the pool sipping a cool drink???

Hope this card cheered you up!
