Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #313: Sheltering Tree

Good morning!

This morning I have a fun card for you that uses the Hand Stamped Sentiments inspiration challenge, which is perfect for this spring time, as well as showing off several retiring products that I just know you don't want to miss out on.

I started with Pool Party cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock as a mat for the Crumb Card card front.  To mimic the bulletin board in the inspiration piece I stamped the Crumb Cake layer with the Burlap stamp (retiring).

Next I added a piece of Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper to anchor my stamped piece.

The stamped piece using the Sheltering Tree stamp set (retiring) and I stamped it to look like a Cherry Blossom tree which have blooming in this area (and the little swing just takes you back to enjoying the sun on days like this).  I used the Big Shot and Rectangle Stitched Framelits to cut out the piece and add a little detail.

The finishing touch was to cut the greeting out of Gold Foil paper using the Big Shot and the Celebrate You Thinlits dies (retiring).

I have to admit, I was so happy with the way this card turned out, not quite my normal style but the soft, subtle colors, against the burlap and gold work together perfectly!   Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and I would love for you to play along with us and share what you create from this inspiration challenge.

Hopping Through the Carrot Patch: Best Bunny

Good morning!

I have another fun Easter card to share with you, this is the one I made for my little kiddo.  It uses the same Best Bunny stamp set that I used yesterday but is a fun farming theme.

I started with Balmy Blue cardstock for the cardbase and used the You're Inspiring stamp set (retiring) for the greeting and was stamped in Basic Black ink.

Next I took three stripes of Early Espresso cardstocks of varying widths and tore the edge so it's rough and layered them like rows in a garden (I made sure to only attach the cardstock on the bottoms and sides so I had access to tops.

Next I used the Classic Label Punch and punched several pieces out of Whisper White cardstock to make a white picket fence and then added a thin strip to connect them and added little black dots as "nails".

Next I used the Best Bunny stamp set to stamp a couple little bunnies and several carrots.  I used Stampin' Blends to color all the pieces in and then cut them out with Paper Snips.  I added a little glue to the back of the carrots and then was able to tuck the carrots into the garden strips.  Mini dimensionals were used to attach the bunnies to the garden.

I love coloring images in for texture and a little relaxation therapy so this card with the little pieces is perfect to let my little Easter Bunny know I hope he has a special holiday.

Gingham Easter Greetings: Best Bunny

Good afternoon!

I hope you are all enjoying your spring break fun, I must admit I'm enjoying the week away and just relaxing.  In our area spring break is always the week before Easter so it never fails that I'm wrapping up last minute gifts and cards to get in the mail.  Today I'm sharing one of the Easter cards I made this year and uses the Best Bunny bundle (which was announced this week as retiring so if you like these little cuties make sure you order yours soon.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then took a piece of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper (retiring) and matted it with Early Espresso cardstock.

Next I took the little bunny stamp from the Best Bunny set and stamped it three times on Whisper White cardstock and cut out three squares using the Big Shot (retiring) and the Stitched Shapes Framelits before coloring it in with Crumb Cake and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends.

The greeting is from the Fable Friends stamp set and was stamped in Basic Black ink on Balmy Blue cardstock and then cut it out with then Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits before attaching it to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final touch is a double bow I tied with Whisper White Baker's Twine.

I love the spring colors on this card and gingham always makes me think of spring, I'm going to miss this DSP but know amazing things are coming up in the new catalog.  What Easter projects are you working on this week?

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC333: Happy Tails

Good morning!

We all have those special souls in our lives that touch us and make us whole.  In our family is also includes our fur baby Mocha, as well as other pups that we've had so when I saw the Happy Tails bundle in this years Occasions catalog I knew I had to have it.  The crazy thing is I haven't had an opportunity to ink up this stamp set so when I saw this weeks Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge I knew it would be perfect for this bundle.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added Cherry Cobbler cardstock that was the mat for the Very Vanilla cardfront that was stamped with the Crackle Paint stamp set using Crumb Cake ink.

Next I added a strip of designer series paper from the Neutrals DSP (I used Early Espresso) and then added a piece of Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon.  For the main accent square I used Early Espresso cardstock and stamped the little paw print all over and then matted the piece with Cherry Cobbler cardstock before attaching the piece to the cardfront using dimensionals.

To make this cute little pup I stamped the outline in Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and then stamped the dots in Crumb Cake ink before punching it out with the coordinating Dog Builder Punch.  The greeting was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut out with the Big Shot and Layering Circles Framelits before being attached with dimensionals.  The finish touches are a few gold Metallic Pearls and then a couple of larger regular Pearls that were colored with a Cherry Cobber Dark Stampin' Blends Marker.

There is nothing I don't love about this card, the little pup is so cute and is the perfect way to let someone know you're thinking of them.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using this sketch challenge and then we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.
