Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge #PCC349: Birch Birthday Greetings

Good morning!

This week the Paper Craft Crew has a fun inspiration challenge, all about butterflies and blooms.  Now I have a small confession, I'm not a huge fan of butterflies in my crafting, don't hate them but they don't usually inspire me so after looking through all my stamping stash I was shocked to not have anything butterfly that I could use for this challenge, so instead I'm focusing on the blooms.

I'm loving the new Heirloom Frames Dies and Embossing Folders so I decided to create the look of vintage framed art you might remember and just went from there.

I started with Pool Party cardstock for the cardbase and then matted the Whisper White cardfront with Basic Black ink.  To create the cardfront I stamped with the Birch stamp set in Crumb Cake ink and then sponged around the edges with Petal Pink ink.

For the frame I used Early Espresso cardstock and after cutting and embossing I used the new Delicata Metallic Copper ink to sponge all over the embossing to create that antique feel and used dimensionals to attach the frame.  For the artwork inside the frame I used the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper.

To finish off the card I added a bow tied with Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and then added the greeting using the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set and stamped with Basic Black ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and then cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Dies before attaching it with dimensionals.

This card reminds me of something I remember seeing at my grandparents house and love the soft colors and mix of textures.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using this fun inspiration challenge and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #322: Colorful Seasons

Good morning!

We have survived the start of school, and I still can't believe I have a high schooler (wasn't he just a baby yesterday?)  We're still enjoying the last few days of summer and this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge full of colors and floral images definitely remind me of the flowers blooming everywhere.

I started with Gray Granite cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock as the mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  On the cardfront I started by stamping with the Birch background stamp set using Gray Granite ink and then sponged around the edges using Rococo Rose ink.  On the left side of the cardfront I added a piece of designer series paper from the 2019-2021 In Colors Designer Series Paper stack (using Rococo Rose) that was matted with Blackberry Bliss cardstock.

For the main stamped image I started by cutting a large oval using the Stitched Shapes Dies using Whisper White cardstock and then using the Colorful Seasons stamp set stamped the floral image and greeting using the three colors in the card before attaching the oval with dimensionals.  The final touch was to tie a double bow using the Nature's Twine (Blackberry Bliss spool).

This card is perfect for lots of occasions, wedding, graduation, anything and I love the flowers mixed with that birch print, I know I'm going to be using that stamp set a lot.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC348: Birthday Goodness

Good morning!

Our summer seems to be racing to a closure, and we had a wonderful summer beach getaway last weekend, so much fun.  One thing I would love to have all the time but especially on vacation is donuts so I'm making some yummy donuts for today's Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge.

For this card I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Pool Party cardstock for the cardfront that was embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

For the main image I stamped the large donut stack image from the Birthday Goodness stamp set using Momento Basic Black ink on Whisper White and then colored it in with my Stampin' Blends.  Once finished I cut it out with the Layering Ovals dies and attached it to the cardfront.

To finish off the card I added a little flag using Flirty Flamingo cardstock, the greeting was stamped on Highland Heather and cut out with Layering Circles Dies and attached with dimensionals.  A Whisper White Baker's Twine bow and some rhinestones finished off the card.

I absolutely love desserts so it's no surprise I love this stamp set, so yummy without all the calories!  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and we would love for you to join in and share what you create.

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge #FabFri169: Birthday Goodness

Good morning!

Summer is the perfect time for birthdays (well really anytime is but I know a lot of friends who have birthdays in the summer so there's lots of celebrating going on).  Today the Fab Friday group has a fun sketch challenge that I thought would be perfect to show off the new Birthday Goodness stamp set because birthdays and donuts, umm yes please!!!

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a layer of Basic Black as a mat for the Pool Party cardfront which was embossed with the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder (and then I sponged over the embossing with Pool Party ink so it really pops).

Next I stamped three of the small donuts on Whisper White cardstock using Momento Black ink and colored them in with Stampin' Blends before fussy cutting each out with my Paper Snips.

I attached the three donuts using dimensionals to a Whisper White circle that I cut using the Stitched Shapes Dies.  Now I have a sneak peak from the Holiday catalog for you, check out that glossy look on the donut frosting!  Crystal Effects are back and this time they're shimmery!!  Whoo Hoo!!  So I flooded the frosting area of each donut with the Shimmery Crystal Effects and let it dry (note: crystal effects take a bit to dry so I always add them after I've finished a card so I can let it set overnight to get fully dry).

To finish off the card I had to add the greeting so I stamped it in Basic Black ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch before attaching it to the card with dimensionals.

This card is so yummy I could just eat it up (and not have the sugar rush and all the associated calories!) and what a perfect way to help celebrate someone's birthday.  I loved Crystal Effects the last time we had them so I was really excited to see them return, with a twist, and am already thinking about other projects that can use that little glossy finish.
