SSINKspiration Friday Favorites Retiring Bundle: Custom Tee

Happy Friday!  It's been another crazy week but thankfully even with all the rain we've been having Aidan was able to get one of his baseball game in this week (they won!) but it looks like tomorrow may be another wash out, we'll have to see.  So I always make a card for the coach for the end of the season for all the work they do  so I decided to use his team colors for this super fun card which uses one of my favorite retiring bundles, Custom Tee.  The SSINKspiration designers today are all sharing their favorite retiring bundles and it's always fun to see what everyone picks.

I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock for the cardfront that I stamped on the top using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (retiring).  Next I added a piece of Basic Black designer series paper (from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack (retiring)) as well as the glimmer stars using the Big Shot, Star Blast Edgelits (retiring), and Silver Glimmer Paper.  I made sure to only attach the star piece along the bottom and middle so I could curl the stars so they're standing up from the page.

Next to make the shirt, I used the Custom Tee (retiring) set on Whisper White cardstock to stamp both the outline and the "All Star Champs" using Basic Black ink.  Next I used the Tie Dyed Stamp Set (retiring) and used Smoky Slate (full strength and stamped off) as well as Tangerine Tango to create the tie dyed effect and then cut the shirt out with the Shirt Builder Framelits (retiring) before attaching it to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final tough was to add the greeting, which is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and was punched out with the Classic Label Punch (I punched it twice to cut it down so it just fit the greeting) before attaching it to the cardfront with dimensionals as well.

I know this card uses a lot of stamp set and items but I really love how it turned out and hope Aidan's coach will appreciate it, as well as all the notes the players will write in it.  Remember a lot of the items used in this card are retiring so make sure to order them soon if they are on your wish list (I know these will be staying in my studio for lots of future use!!)

SSINKspiration Salute to Mother's: Greatest Greetings

Good morning!  I can't believe Mother's Day is just a few days away, I'll admit I was putting finishing touches on our cards and gifts so I could get them in the mail today to arrive in time to show our mom's and grandma's with love.  Today the SSINKspiration team wanted to do a special feature to provide a little more inspiration for Mother's Day in case you are still working on your projects.  Even though it is dark and rainy here today, this card is bright and cheery, sure to please.

I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper (retiring) as the cardfront and wrapped a piece of the coordinating Succulent Garden 3/8" Ribbon (retiring) around the DSP (this ribbon is so soft and pretty!)

next I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the greeting from the Greatest Greetings stamp set (retiring) in Calypso Coral ink before matting it with Tip Top Taupe cardstock and attaching the piece to the cardfront with dimensionals.  I don't have the succulent framelits to coordinate with this DSP (shocked I'm sure) so I decided to use the Botanical Buider Framelits (retiring) and the Big Shot to create my little flower bouquet.  I love how easy it is to make flowers with these framelits and the way they are designed you can really lift the pieces for added texture and dimension to the card.  I added some enamel dots from the 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes (retiring) and Metallic Enamel Shapes for the final touch.

Sometimes I'm so afraid to use a big piece of DSP on projects but it's a great way to add a lot of color and interest with very little work, and it's not like I don't have enough DSP to last a few lifetimes so it's time to "use it up".  This paper also projects such a great color palette to build all the rest of the elements and I'm sure mom will love some flowers that will last forever!

SSINKspiration Card Sketch SSINKCS45: Nailed It

Good morning!  Very busy weekend around the house and with family so there wasn't much time for crafting, hoping to make up for that this week (need a little stamping therapy if you know what I mean).  Today over on the SSINKspiration blog it's time for a card sketch and I decided to use this sketch to add other Father's Day card to my card stash (the holiday will be here before we know it) and the Urban District Product Suite is so perfect for "dude" cards.

I started with Delightful Dijon cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Urban District Speciality Designer Series Paper (retiring) (I loved this patter since it is nice and subtle for a fun textural effect).  Next I added a piece of Delightful Dijon 5/8" Mini Striped Ribbon (retiring) as well as a coordinating strip of DSP.

The greeting is from the Nailed It stamp set (retiring) and was stamped in Basic Gray on Very Vanilla cardstock and then was cut out.  The circle is made out of Silver Foil cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder.  I attached the greeting with dimensionals and then the final touch was to add some Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine that I just looped a few times.

A nice and simple card with just a few touches to help dress up the card, without pushing it over the edge to being too "girly".  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team made using this sketch for inspiration and then play along, we would love for you to join us and share what you create.

SSINKspiration Friday Favorites Retiring Designer Series Paper: Cupcakes and Carousels

Happy Friday!  It's dark and stormy here today so I have something bright and cheery to kick off the day.  Today the SSINKspiration designers are sharing favorite retiring designer series paper and today I'm showing a card using the Cupcakes  and Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack from the Occasions catalog.  This card is also jam packed with other retiring items that you're going to want to make sure to get your hands on before they're gone.

I started with So Saffron cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of the Cupcakes  and Carousels Designer Series Paper (retiring).  Next I took one of the Lace Doilies (retiring) and sponged all over the white side with Night of Navy Ink and because of the coating on the doily it gives a really cool watercolor wash effect.  Next I took a piece of Soft Sky cardstock and embossed it with the Big Shot and Elegant Dots Embossing Folder (retiring).

The greeting is from the All Things Thanks stamp set and was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock with Night of Navy ink before being cut out with the Big Shot and Tags and Labels Framelits (retiring).  I added a little strip of the coordinating DSP to the bottom of the tag to add a little more color before attaching it to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final touch was to take a couple pieces of the baker's twine from the Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishment Kit (retiring) and tied a bow and attached it to the top of the tag with a glue dot.

This card is so fun and as lots of texture and dimension, and who doesn't need to hear how awesome we think they are?  So important to let people know how we feel and that they're appreciated.
