Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge: Pomp & Circumstance

Happy Monday!  What a wonderful weekend, we got to enjoy Aidan playing baseball, Chris playing softball, bike rides, flower planting, and of course some much overdue crafting time, perfect!  Today over on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog we have a fun color challenge to play along with. This challenge focuses on two of the retiring In Colors, Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit and while they've already sold out online we at least get to enjoy them with our stash.  Since it's may and the end of school is rapidly approaching I decided to make a graduation card focusing on the Pomp & Circumstance stamp set.

The cardbase is Crumb Cake and I added a layer of Midnight Muse that stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set with the same color ink.  Next I added a piece of Summer Starfruit cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Chevron Embossing Folder along with a piece of Crumb Cake 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon.  I stamped several stars with the Simply Stars stamp set in the various colors and I punched them out with the retired star punches (love that the stamps fit in the punches so they were easy to cut out).  I also punched out some stars with the Champagne Glimmer Paper

The greeting is from the Pomp & Circumstance stamp set and is colored in with Stampin' Write Markers, punched out with the Decorative Label Punch, and sponged around the edge with Crumb cake ink before attaching it to the card with dimensionals

I really love all the different layers and pieces in the card as it really adds some fun texture and dimension, you could also change this card for the school colors for your graduate (however then it wouldn't fit with this challenge, but that's OK).  Below are links for easy order of the products used on this card.

Have a great day and enjoy!
