Paper Craft Crew Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #PCC331: Hello Cupcake

Good morning!  It's my birthday week so the salute to birthday treats continues, today I used thePaper Craft Crew Tic-Tac-Toe challenge to make this yummy (and calorie free card) as a perfect farewell to Sale-a-bration!  I decided to go across in the center with this card using Metallic, Monochromatic, and Stitched Rectangular Dies (quickly becoming a new favorite!)

I started with Whisper White Thick cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Call Me Clover cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Subtles Dynanic Embossing Folder before adding a piece of Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper that I cut out with the Stitched Rectangular Framelits (I ran it through the Big Shot twice to get the stitching on all for sides given the size of my DSP.

For the main stamped image I used the Hello Cupcake stamp set and stamped the cupcake base in Smoky Slate ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the frosting for the cupcake also on Whisper White using Call Me Clover ink (full strength for one layer and stamped off once for the lighter layer) and then cut them out with the Big Shot and Call Me Cupcakes Framelits.  I used the same stamp set and framelits to cut out the little cupcake pick as well and then used the Stitched Rectangular Framelits to edge the cardstock before matting it with Champagne Foil Paper.

To finish off the card I used a greeting from the More than Words stamp set and after cutting it out with the same framelits sponged around the edge and attached it with dimensionals.  A few Metallic Rhinestones are the perfect sprinkles to finish off the card!

I know this card has all the things that would help me celebrate my special day!  Make sure to check out the other design team cards for inspiration and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create!

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge #FabFri159: Home to Roost

Good afternoon!

We finally had some significant signs of spring this weekend and it made my heart happy (we even got some time out in the yard working on cleaning out the beds for the new year).  Because we were on the go I only had a little bit of time to relax and craft but I'll take every bit I can get.  Today's card uses the Fab Friday sketch challenge as inspiration as well as the Home to Roost stamp set (this is the last week you can earn this stamp set for FREE!)

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added Cherry Cobbler cardstock as a mat for the cardfront that is Very Vanilla cardstock which I stamped with the Buffalo Check stamp using Basic Black ink and then I sponged around the edges with Soft Suede ink (I actually sponged around all the stamped pieces so I'm just stating it once).

Next I took a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and embossed it with the Big Shot and Corrugated Dynamic Embossing Folder and then I played around with the top left corner until I could separate the cardstock layers and rolled down the top layer for a fun effect.  For the main stamped image I stamped the rooster in Basic Black ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and colored it in with Stampin' Blends before cutting it out with the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits and attached the oval with dimensionals.

To finish off the card I added a piece of Night of Navy 1/2" Gingham Ribbon and a knot using Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon.  The greeting was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and then punched out with the Classic Label Punch and attached with dimensionals.

This card has a fun farm-chic look and I love the buffalo check mixed with all the other elements, lots of texture to entertain the eye.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC330: Home to Roost

Good morning!

How is it possible that we only have 11 days left in this years Sale-a-bration?  There have been so many fabulous products and phased releases that I haven't even gotten to play with everything thing yet, crazy I know!  I decided to use several of these items on this weeks Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge.  While the Home to Roost stamp set (a SAB freebie!) has been out since January but I'm just now inking it up, I've focused on the rooster image but there are also some fabulous greetings and fonts that can be mixed with other elements and stamps for a different look.

I started with Petal Pink cardstock for the cardbase and then added Whisper White cardstock for the cardfront.  On this piece I used the Timeless Textures stamp set and Pool Party ink to stamp the filigree image several times.  Next I added a piece of Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper  (a SAB freebie!) and matted it with Call Me Clover cardstock.  I added another piece of the coordinating DSP that I tore on both edges to make some faux washi tape.

The greeting is the only stamp I used from Home to Roost and after stamping it in Call Me Clover ink on Petal Pink cardstock I cut it out with the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits and then matted it with a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock that was punched out with the Story Label Punch (this is a SAB coordination item and only available while supplies last!) and attached to the cardfront with dimensionals.

The final touches on the card are a few rhinestones and a double bow tied with Whisper White Baker's Twine.

I love all the colors in this DSP which I wouldn't have thought to pair together and the succulents are so trendy right now for spring I'm looking forward to getting planting for the upcoming spring and summer seasons!  Check out all the other cards the design team is sharing using this sketch challenge as inspiration and then we would love for your to play along with us and share what you create.  Don't miss out on any of the SAB freebies or coordinating products this year so place your order soon.

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge #FabFri157: Part of My Story

Good morning!

With our crazy schedule lately it seems like I haven't had much time in the studio, I need to change that as my crafting time really helps reduce my stress and calms me, anyone else feel that way?  Today I'm playing along with the Fab Friday sketch challenge to make this fun card that mixes Sale-a-bration and Annual catalog goodies.

I started with Petal Pink cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Gray Granite cardstock as a mat for the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper (this was my first time using this paper and you have to think beyond baby because this paper has some great patterns.  I used the Big Shot and the Eclectic Layers Thinlits to cut the geometric shape in the background so the cardstock can peak through as my design element along the right side on the sketch, just to change things up.

For the main stamped image I used the Part of My Story stamp set (a Sale-a-bration freebie) and used my Stampin' Write Marker's to color in the stamp before stamping on Whisper White Cardstock.  Next I cut it out with the Big Shot and Layering Circles Framelits and sponged all over with the Gray Granite ink.  As a mat for the circle I took one of the Colored Doilies and flipped it over and sponged on the back using Petal Pink ink.  Dimensionals were used to pop the circle up from the doily mat.

The finishing touch on the card is the heart which I made my using another one of the thinlits in the Eclectic Thinlits set (no this piece only embosses, doesn't cut out, but it was really easy to cut out with Paper Snips and then I attached little pearls on all the line intersections before attaching it to the cardfront with dimensionals.

I love the colors and textures on this card that really play against the different geometric shapes, a fun sketch for sure.
