SSINKspiration Blog Hop: Love is in the Air

Good morning!  Isn’t this weather crazy, it was sunny and in the 70’s yesterday and today we’re expecting snow, what a rollercoaster of a winter we’re having.  With Valentine’s Day less than a week it’s only fitting that this months blog hop with the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration designers is all about love and what each of that means to us.  For me of course I decided to focus on Valentine’s Day (still working on some projects for my loved one’s) and designed this fun card and coordinating treat box perfect for expressing my lovey dovey wishes, haha!

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number #3 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - Tobe B. at The Craft Sea. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

For the card I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Basic Black cardstock for the cardfront that was embossed with the Big Shot and Falling Petals Embossing Folder (it’s fun how the design of this embossing folder looks like little hearts).  For the greeting I used the Sealed with Love stamp set and stamped the greeting in Real Red ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.

For a fun accent I used the Love Notes Framelits to cut out the little envelope using Sending Love Designer Series Paper.  I used another framelit from the same set to cut the little card to come out of the envelope and then stamped the hearts and greeting from the Sealed with Love stamp set.  Once I assembled the envelope it was attached with dimensionals.  The final touch was to add a small heart punched out of Silver Foil Paper (I accidently used a retired punch but any punch would work or one of the hearts from the framelit set I used.

Of course one of my favorite things is chocolate so I decided to make a coordinating treat box to hold lots of kisses.  I used some Real Red cardstock and the Popcorn Box Thinlit die to cut out the base of the box (you need to cut out two pieces to make the box but you can get both pieces out of one 5 ½” x 8 ½” piece of cardstock.  I wanted to add some panels to the box using the same designer series paper so I cut out two more box pieces and then carefully trimmed them down so they fit inside each side (I found that folding the paper on the score lines and then trimming helped keep the shape).  I assembled the box using Fast Fuse Adhesive.

To decorate the box I used several different framelit items, to cut out another envelope using the same pattern of DSP and then used the Silver Foil Paper and cut out the heart with the cutouts.  I used a stamp to stamp the row of hearts on Basic Black cardstock using Versamark ink and then heat embossed it using Silver Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool.  After embossing the hearts I used the framelit to cut the row of hearts out and attached it to the box with dimensionals.  After filling the cello bag with kisses I tied the bag using a couple pieces of Real Red ribbon from the Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack (perfect way to top it off!)
I have to say this popcorn box really holds a lot so the kisses will keep on giving and giving and having a coordinating gift set just helps set your gift apart and lets the receiver know they’re worth the extra effort!

  1. Your Falling Petals background look more like hearts to me too. I love the little envelopes on both of your projects, such a cute touch!

  2. The treat box is so adorable! It was 18 degrees when I woke up this morning, and it's supposed to be 70 tomorrow. We're used to crazy weather like this in Kansas though!

  3. What a beautiful box!!! I still haven't used my popcorn box & you've inspired me to play around with it this weekend. I really like the way you added the layer of DSP!
