Lots of Hearts Valentine's

Good morning,

It's a snowy day here and if you are lucky enough to have the day off (I'm working but that's good) it's perfect for working on those Valentine's cards and gifts ahead of Friday.  Today I wanted to share a card we made in last month's card class.

This card stars with Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Basic Black cardstock and then a Basic White cardstock cardfront that's embossed with the Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folder.  Next I added a strip of the Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper along the left side and wrapped a piece of Gold 1 1/2" Open Weave Trim.

The large black heart was cut using Basic Black cardstock and the Hearts of Elegance dies.  The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Basic White cardstock before cutting it out with the Greetings of the Season Dies (these are on the Last Chance List so they are on sale so make sure you get then before they sell out).  I sponged around the edge of the greeting piece with Basic Black ink before attaching to the cardfront with dimensionals.

Final touches were to tie some more of the Gold 1 1/2" Open Weave Trim through the hole on the greeting and then added a few Adhesive Backed Heart Sequins.

I just keep saying, with this stamp set, dies, and DSP you really can't go wrong, you're going to make beautifully fabulous projects that all coordinate to perfection!

Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge #607: Hearts of Elegance

Good morning,

It's been a great week and I wanted to share a card I made this weekend using this weeks Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge.  Of course I'm still on the Valentine roll and loving it, haha!  Now you know I love me the Marbled Elegance Speciality Designer Series Paper and have been using it EVERYWHERE but I decided to take a break and make a valentine NOT using that paper.

This card using Basic White Thick cardstock for the cardbase and then added Cherry Cobbler Cardstock as a mat for the Basic White cardfront.  Now before adhering the pieces together I embossed the greeting using the Hearts of Elegance stamp set, Black Embossing Powder, and the Heat Tool.  Next, I embossed the card using the So Swirly Embossing Folder (you have to make sure you heat emboss the greeting before embossing the cardfront to get a good image).

Next I used the Hearts of Elegance dies to cut the large stitched design heart in Cherry Cobbler and the small heart using Gold Foil.  The black heart is stamped on Basic White cardstock with Black ink and then fussy cut with Paper Snips.  I attached all three of these hearts to the cardfront (dimensionals were used on the gold heart).  The final touch was to add a couple of Adhesive Backed Heart Sequins around the heart bundle.

This card has such a simple, elegant feel and I just love it!  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and we would love for you to play along and share what you create.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #606: Hearts of Elegance

Good morning,

I'm back with another card today, and yes, it's Valentine's themed, this time playing along with this weeks Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge for this quick and easy card with a little bling.

I started with a Melon Mambo cardbase and then added Basic White cardstock as the cardfront.  To this I added a square of Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper that's matted with Melon Mambo cardstock.

Next I cut a couple of different hearts using the Hearts of Elegance dies as well as the same DSP and Gold Foil.  I used dimensionals to pop up the gold hearts (the little gold heart at the top is made using a retired heart punch which was just the perfect size).

On top of one of the hearts I added a double bow tied with Real Red & White Baker's Twine.  To finish off the card I stamped the greeting on the bottom using the Hearts of Elegance stamp set and Melon Mambo ink.

The designer series paper has so man different colors you can pick and choose which color to showcase, and I will admit with all the gold foil accents it's hard to use the reverse side but there are some wonderful subtle patterns on those sides which are not to be missed.  This is a great card sketch that could be used so many different shapes for an occasion which is awesome!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #455: Hearts of Elegance

Good morning,

It's the start of a new week and I was so happy to get some time in the studio this weekend to get a little inky and work on Valentine's projects and I have to say I'm absolute in love with the Hearts of Elegance bundle and associated products.  While I was working I decided to play along with this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge for one of my cards.

I started with Basic White Thick cardstock for the based and then added a piece of Basic Black cardstock as a mat for the Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper which was also a mat for the Basic White cardfront.  This piece was embossed before wrapping some Gold Twisted Thread along the side and finished with a double bow.

Next I used the Hearts of Elegance dies to cut three hearts out of the same specialty DSP (these were all from the same sheet of DSP just different parts of the pattern).  The greeting was heat embossed using the Heats of Elegance stamp set, versamark, Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder, and the Heat Tool on Basic Black cardstock.  I fussy cut the greeting and attached it using Black Stampin' Dimensionals.  The final touch was to add a trio of Adhesive Backed Heart Sequins around the cardfront.

I so love how this card turned out, it's elegant, and bold enough that you can use it for anyone (the guys in my life are not a fan of pink so they get valentine's with black and reds).

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #604: Hearts of Elegance

Good morning!

While it's nice and snowy here I'm definitely embracing all the Valentine's feelings in my crafting and love the new Hearts of Elegance Bundle and associated products that were released as Online Exclusives for this holiday!  For this card I'm playing along with this weeks Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge.

The cardbase is Basic White Thick cardstock and then I layered Basic Black cardstock with the Melon Mambo cardfront that's embossed with the new Plaster Painting 3D Embossing Folder, also an Online Exclusive item.

Next I took a piece of the Marbled Elegance Speciality Designer Series Paper and matted it with Basic Black and Real Red cardstock.  The greeting is stamped on Basic White cardstock using Real Red ink and the Hearts of Elegance stamp set before cutting it out with the Nested Essentials Dies.

For the accent in the bottom left I stamped the floral heart using Basic Black ink on Basic White cardstock and fussy cut.  A Gold Foil sheet was used to cut out the outlined heart using the coordinating Hearts of Elegance dies.  I popped up the gold heart with dimensionals.

I wanted to add a little extra, extra so I tied a double bow using the Real Red & White Baker's Twine as well as stamping the "xoxo" in Melon Mambo ink on Basic White cardstock before fussy cutting and attaching it with dimensionals.  The final touch was to add some Adhesive Backed Heart Sequins on the greeting piece.

Oh my, I was so happy with how this card turned out, love it and can't stop making projects with these items.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and we would love for you to play along and share what you create.
