30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 17

Good morning!  What an amazingly beautiful day we had yesterday and it sounds like it’s only going to get better the next couple of days.  We’re heading back to Christmas for today’s gratitude card and really let the colors and textures be the focus on this card.

I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Emerald Envy Cardstock that was embossed with the Holly Embossing Folder.  Next I added a piece of Presents and Pinecones Designer Series Paper and matted it with Cherry Cobbler cardstock. 

The greeting is from the Tin of Cards stamp set and was stamped on a piece of Mint Macron cardstock using Cherry Cobbler ink.  I used Whisper White Craft ink to stamp the snowflakes from the Peace this Season stamp set to dress it up a little before punching the top with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.    For embellishments I used a piece of Whisper White 5/8” Satin Ribbon in the top hole and then tied a bow around the ribbon using Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Trio Pack before attaching it to the cardfront with dimensionals.

 This card is so pretty and this was one of the cards at this years Mega Christmas cards class so the attendees used a Christmas greeting instead and I just changed it out on my set for thank you’s (going to need those a lot in the coming months).

30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 3

Good morning!  I’m certainly not complaining about or unusually warm weather (since I hate being cold) but it is a little crazy to see temps in the 70’s in November.  We’ve been enjoying this weather in the evenings with walks with Mocha while we still have daylight when we get home.  I know it won’t last long so I’m going to enjoy it while we can.  For today’s 30-Day Gratitude challenge it’s only fitting that my card is nice and cheery like our weather and really shows of some of our fabulous In Colors.

I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Tip Top Taupe cardstock as a mat for the Whisper White cardstock that was used for the main background piece.  To create this I started by using the Timeless Textures stamp set and just started building use several different stamps from the set and Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, Tip Top Taupe, and Delightful Dijon inks.  Next I used the Big Shot and Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and some Silver Glimmer Paper to cute out this fun swirly accent that’s lot of fun.

The greeting is from the Tin of Cards stamp set and was stamped with Delightful Dijon ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I cut the flag tails and then attached it to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final touch was to take a piece of Watermelon Wonder 5/8” Mini Striped Ribbon and tied a fun knot and attached it to the greeting piece using a glue dot.

I had fun with this card and building the background using lots of different stamps to add textue and dimension.  This also shows that you don’t necessary need a lot of stamps or products to make a great project, you can just use inks and several images from one stamp set (that’s one of the beauties of Stampin’ Up! selling stamp sets where the images coordinate perfectly with each other).  It is so pretty and has lots of texture that really makes you want to reach out and touch it.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge: Tin of Cards Birthday Greetings

Good morning!  Another fun-filled weekend and a great way to start spring break.  Even though we're staying home we're looking forward to a little break from the crazy busy spring activity schedule.    I have several friends with March birthdays so I decided t use this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge as the inspiration for this card for a friend.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Whisper White cardstock for the cardfront and started my stamped the grid image from the Timeless Textures stamp set in Pear Pizzaz ink.  Next I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and cut a circle out using the Big Shot and Circle Collection Framelits, embossed it with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and then sponged all over it with Crumb Cake ink to highlight the embossing.

Next I used the Fun Frames Embossing Folder and after embossing the So Saffron cardstock I used Paper Snips to cut out the frame.  The greeting is from the Tin of Cards stamp set and I stamped with Calypso Coral ink on Whisper White Ink before attaching it the frame.  The final touch for this piece was to add a rhinestone for bling.

Next I used the Botanical Builder Framelits and cut out several flower and leaf pieces to build up the flower and added a Subtle Candy Dot to the center (these framelits are so fun love how you can make the flower have lots of height and dimension.  I had a little piece of Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon on my desk so I added it to the cardfront using the Mini Stapler to ruffle up the ribbon.

I haven't used these colors together recently but they really work and help me think of springtime weather (which helps since we decided to get a little snow this weeks, crazy, I know!!) and know it will brighten up my friends day when it's opened.

30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 13

Happy Friday!  With a gratitude challenge it really does make you think about all you have to be thankful for, health, family, friends, etc.  We have been so blesses and I’m looking forward to enjoying time this weekend with all those things I’m thankful for.  Tonight Aidan has Ninja Night that he’s really excited about which means “date night” for mommy and daddy and we’re also really excited, we’re going to go see the new James Bond movie, whoo hoo!  Before all the fun begins I wanted to share today’s gratitude card, it’s another holiday themed one based on a card from class last month.

I started with Early Espresso cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Merry Moments Designer Series Paper.  I used another pattern from the same DSP package for the tall panel.  The greeting is from the Tin of Cards stamp set (even if you don’t have the Card Tin kit, which really is awesome, the coordinating stamp set is a must have for all types of occasions!) and stamped it on Whisper White cardstock using Early Espresso ink and matted it with Early Espresso cardstock.  I added the cute little tree element and used the Lots of Joy stamp set and stamped it in Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White cardstock and used my Paper Snips to cut it out before attaching it with dimensionals.  I added a knot using the Gold Satin Ribbon that is so bright and shiny and really helps dress up the card.

I love the addition of glimmer to the card that dresses up the card and helps make it special (especially for the holidays!!)  You can also make a ton of these cards using the Merry Momments Designer Series Paper Stack (the one that’s in the Holiday Catalog) so you could easily make this your holiday card as well (when you cut the DSP you can get both panels out of one piece of DSP).

30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 7 Meets Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge

Good morning!  It’s time for today’s gratitude card and I decided to combine this with the Paper Craft Crew challenge blog and create and bright and cheery card which counters the wet, dark weather we’re having.  We have a fun work adventure this afternoon that family is invited to so we’re looking forward to some fun!

I started with Tip Top Taupe cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Whisper White cardstock at the top and a piece of Cucumber Crush DSP from the 2015-2017 In Colors Designer Series Paper Stack for the bottom (I really like the prints in this years color family DSP stacks) and wrapped a piece of Watermelon Wonder Lace Trim along the seam.  The greeting is from the Tin of Cards stamp set and was stamped using Cucumber Crush ink on Whisper White cardstock and matted with Basic Black cardstock. 

 

For the fun element on the side I took a piece of Tip Top Taupe cardstock and cut it out using the Big

Shot and the largest Deco Labels Framelit (just used one side).  The peach image is from the Silhouettes & Script Hostess set and inked the stamp with my Stampin’ Write markers before stamping and cut it out with Paper Snips before attaching it with dimensionals (I actually used dimensionals on both the peach and the greeting piece for extra depth).

This card is so bright you can’t help but smile and the peach image is such a fun twist (I had to get this stamp set once I saw this image, so fun!!)
