Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #329: So Many Stars

Good morning!

I am definitely in Christmas mod for everything, and trying to get as much done so I can relax and enjoy all the holiday fun (why do we only have 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year??)  Today I'm using this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge for a beautiful Christmas card that has lots of bling, but isn't over the top.

I started with Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the cardbase and then used a piece of Night of Navy cardstock as the mat for the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper cardfront.  I used a piece of Gold 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon to wrap around the center of the card.

Next I used the Stitched Stars Dies to cut the scrolled star image out of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  For the main star element, which also has the greeting, I used the So Many Stars stamp set and stamped the star design in Night of Navy Ink on Shaded Spruce cardstock and then stamped "Joy" in Versamark and used Gold Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool to heat emboss the greeting before cutting it out with the same star dies and using dimensionals to attach the star to the cardfront.  To finish off the card I added some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots around the image.

I love the colors of this card as well as all the gold accents (I personally believe ALL holiday cards should have some sort of sparkle or shine element!).  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using this sketch and then we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.

30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 22

Good morning!

So excited it's Friday!  We have a lot of family fun planned (which is pretty normal) but we're also going to get serious about getting those Christmas decorations up, hopefully can be finished by the end of the weekend (if the weather cooperates).  And I'm extra excited since the guys offered to help with all the decorations, which doesn't normally happen so I'll take it!

Today's gratitude card isn't holiday themed but I was able to use several products that I haven't used up to now, which I always enjoy.  I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then matted a piece of Garden Lane Designer Series Paper with Garden Green cardstock for the cardfront.

Next I used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut a circle out of another pattern of DSP from the pack and matted it with a scalloped circle cut out of Mint Macaron cardstock using the Layering Circles Dies.  I took a piece of Gold 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon and Colored it with the Mossy Meadow Dark Stampin' Blends Marker for a custom color and tucked it behind the circle.  The greeting is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and was stamped on Very Vanilla Cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink and then cut out with the Stitched Shapes Dies and sponged around the edges with Mint Macaron ink before attaching it with dimensionals.  The final touch was to add some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, from the newly released Christmastime is Here Product Suite (items in this suite are only available while supplies last!)

How is it possible that I haven't used this paper yet?  it's so beautiful!  I really love projects where you can let the DSP be the star and really shine, and this one does it for sure!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #328: Lots of Cheer (30 Day Gratitude Challenge - Day 19)

Good morning!

I'm ready to fully embrace Christmas being right around the corner (I even started putting up decorations last night, but it's a week process so it's not in everyone's face yet!)  So it's only fitting that this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments inspiration challenge is all about Christmas and I decided to combine it with today's gratitude card.

I started with Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the cardbase and then used Early Espresso cardstock as a mat for the Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I used the Lots of Cheer stamp set for the ornament and it was stamped in Momento Back ink on Whisper White cardstock before being colored in with my Stampin' Blends and being cut out with the Stitched Shapes Dies.

The greeting is from the Daisy Delight stamp set and was stamped in Early Espresso and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Dies before being sponged around the edges with Cherry Cobbler ink.

The finishing touches on this card was a little bit of the Cherry Cobbler 3/8" Diagonal Stripe Ribbon and then I cut the star element out of Gold Foil using the Stitched Stars Dies (these are fabulous!)

I love any chance that I can get a little coloring therapy in and this card will definitely be put to use this season.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and we would love for you to play along with us.

30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 7

Good morning,

We are cruising through the week and we're busy getting the guys ready to head out on their big scout camping weekend so lots of packing and I'm baking yummy breakfast treats for them to enjoy.

Last week the new Christmastime is Here product suite was released and it has some beautiful products that work not only for Christmas so today I'm using items from that product suite to have a more everyday card.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Early Espresso cardstock as a mat for the Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper (I love that one pattern on each page has gold accents).  Next I added a strip of Poppy Parade cardstock that was embossed with the Beads and Baubles Embossing Folder and then matted with Mossy Meadow cardstock.

For the greeting I used the A Big Thank You stamp set that I used earlier this week with a different greeting which was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the Layering Circles Dies, and then sponged around the edge with Poppy Parade ink.  I layered this with a circle of Gold Foil and then a Cherry Cobbler circle that was cut with the Stitched Shapes Dies.  The whole greeting piece was attached to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final touch is a bow tied with the Gold 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon (this is also part of the Christmastime is Here Product Suite).

This paper is so stunning and can be used all year long, or for all your Christmas projects!
