Sketch Frenzy Friday Sketch Challenge: One Tag Fits All

Happy Friday!  Well yesterday's snow storm certainly didn't disappoint, after a slow start there's plenty of snow for the kiddos to enjoy and they get a 4-day weekend.  Today I have double the fun for you and have two separate posts with fun cards so make sure you don't miss out.  For my first card Elizabeth gave us a great sketch over on the  Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge blog and I decided to use it for a cute baby card.  I choose colors that you could use for either a boy or girl so it's great to have in your card stash, ready to go when needed.

I started with Calypso Coral for the cardbase and then added a layer of Sahara Sand.  On this piece I stamped the little images from the Best Day Ever stamp set in Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Coastal Cabana, and Calypso Coral inks.  I also added some random rhinestones amongst the images.

For the greeting I stamped the images from the One Tag Fits All stamp set in Soft Suede ink and punched it out with the Notetag punch.  I stamped the rubber duck a second time and then colored all the pieces in with Stampin' Write Markers.  I used Paper Snips to cut out the rubber duck and attached it with dimensionals.  The final touch was to use the 1/8" Circle Punch to punch a hole so we could add a tag ribbon using some Coastal Cabana Ribbon from the Best Day Every Accessory Kit.

This is a great card that super mailable and has lots of fun elements while still be understated.  The One Tag Fits All stamp set has some great greetings and images that are super fun for any occasion.  The design team are sharing some great card using this sketch so make sure to check them out and then come play along and share what you create, it's a perfect time for all those that may still be snowbound and looking for something to do.

Can You Case it? Design Team - Sketch Challenge CYCI #58

Good morning and Happy Sunday.  As you wake up and are reading this I’m just finishing up running the Princess Half Marathon and this weekend has been so wonderful (I definitely see how people get hooked on running Disney races, they really are amazing!!)   For this weeks Can You Case It? Sketch challenge we were given complete freedom to make anything we wanted, with any products we want.  In honor of this special day of course I had to use the Best Day Ever product suite (all of which you can earn for FREE during Sale-a-bration) since it really fits the day!  I started with Coastal Cabana for the cardbase (can’t believe this color will be retiring in a few months, I need to remember to stock up!  Next I added a piece of Soft Suede that was embossed with the Big Shot and Lovely Lace Embossing Folder.  I added a strip of the Best Day Ever Designer Series Paper along the side (this pack has some great patterns and colors).

For the greeting I sued the Best Day Ever Stamp set and stamped with Soft Suede ink on Crumb Cake cardstock.  Then I used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch to punch the top and added a piece of Calypso Coral ribbon from the Best Day Ever Accessory Pack.  I also added another strip of the DSP to the bottom of the tag and used dimensionals to attach the tag to the cardfront.  The final touch was to add a Crushed Curry button (from the same accessory pack, see I managed to used every single item from that product suite on this one card) and threaded Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine through but button for a cute bow.

I have to say, this card makes me smile and think happy thoughts every time I look at it.  And most of the products I earned for FREE, which also makes me happy.  The other design team members shared wonderful cards as well so please go check them out and then play along with the sketch, I would love to see what you come up with, and I hope your Sunday is the Best.Day.Ever.

Can You Case it? Design Team - Sketch Challenge CYCI #55

Good morning and Hello February!  February is always an exciting for our family, with Valentine's and Aidan's birthday it's full of celebrations so I can't wait for the fun to begin.  Of course we'll be watching the big game tonight an I have some fun crafting planned in the afternoon so I can't wait.  With the fun starting the month off I can't wait to get started, but first I wanted to share my design team card for this weeks Can You Case It? sketch Challenge.

I decided to use lots of fun Sale-a-bration products for this card so it all coordinates perfectly (I love that I earned most of these items for FREE and they all were designed to go together so there's no work for me).  I started with Soft Suede cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock that I stamped on the background using the Best Day Ever stamp set.  Next I used a piece of the Best Day Ever Designer Series Paper and matted it with Calypso Coral cardstock.  I wrapped a piece of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine around the DSP layer and then added a Calypso Coral button from the Best Day Ever Accessory kit.

The greeting is also from the Best Day Ever stamp set and I used Stampin' Write Markers to color directly on the stamp using Whisper White cardstock.  The greeting was punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and then matted with some Soft Suede cardstock that was punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.  I use dimensionals to attach the greeting to the cardfront.

This sketch is a classic and so useful.  The other designers have created some fabulous cards using the same sketch so you should definitely go check them out for additional inspiration before playing along with us.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
