Broadway Bound Birthday: Aidan's 14!!

Good morning!

Today is a special day in our house, our "baby" turns 14 (really how is that possible??)  I've resolved myself to the fact that I'm officially the shortest one in my family but I still remember like yesterday bringing him home from the hospital.  Of course I had to make him a special card and I knew the Broadway Bound Products Suite would be perfect!

I started with Granny Apple Green cardstock for the cardbase and then added Basic Black for the cardfront which was embossed with the Big Shot and Simple Stipes Embossing Folder.  The Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper has so many fun foil patterns I added it as the patterned piece and wrapped a piece of Granny Apple Green 1/2" Textured Weave Ribbon around the DSP.

Next I used the Broadway Birthday stamp set to stamp the "Make a" on Granny Apple Green cardstock and cut it out with the Classic Label Punch.  The "Wish" was cut out of Gold Glimmer Paper using the coordinating Broadway Lights Framelits and the little party hat is one of the patterns in the DSP and there's a coordinating die that cuts it out perfectly.

To finish off the card I used the new It's Your Birthday stamp set (from the Occasions catalog) and after stamping in Granny Apple Green ink I cut it out with the Big Shot and Rectangle Stitched Framelits and used dimensionals to attach it after sponging around the edge with Basic Black ink.

I showed hubby the card and his comment was "WOW, lots of glitter!"  I said yes because my kiddo loves the glitter just like his mama!!  We're going to spend the weekend celebrating which should be lots of fun.

Bling Filled Birthday Greetings: Broadway Birthday

Good afternoon!  Summer continues to want to hang around despite what the calendar says, but I'm hoping fall will arrive soon (and for good!)  It seems like with our extended warm weather it's hard to start getting in the holiday mindset, so it's a perfect time to focus on birthdays!  I'm totally in love with the Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper and the foil patterns is definitely part of the reason.  Not only for the bling factor, which is obvious, but I like that the foil patterns only have neutral colors so you cam mix it with any color combination to suit your needs.  For today's card I decided to let Gorgeous Grape be the star of this card.

I started with Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Basic Black cardfront and used the Big Shot and Broadway Lights Framelits to cut the diamond border on the top and used Gold Foil behind the cut out to let the pattern shine.   Before attaching the cardfront front I wrapped a piece of Gorgeous Grape 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon and tied a knot.

Next I added a piece of the Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper at an angle.  I used the Broadway Birthday stamp set and stamped the "hooray" in Gorgeous Grape ink on Gray Granite cardstock and then fussy cut it with Paper Snips.  The rest of the greeting was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink and then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch and attached it with dimensionals.  Of course I wanted a little extra bling so I added some Gold Metallic Pearls along the DSP for just the right touch.

Seriously, who wouldn't love to receive this card and opening this would certainly make the feel special which is deserved on your birthday!  The other good thing about this product suite is it is gender neutral and it can be dressed up or down depending on what pattern, colors, and accessories you use.  Don't forget the Broadway Birthday bundle is my featured product of the week and add these items to your next order!

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge 147: Broadway Bound Christmas Greetings

Good evening!  When you look at the Broadway Bound product suite it's easy to think about birthdays of course, but I wanted to show some alternate uses and since I'm sure you would normally think of Christmas that was what I decided to make (understanding that of course I did need a couple of other items for the greeting.  I'm using the Fab Friday sketch challenge as inspiration for the layout and went from there.

I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added Tranquil Tide cardstock for the cardfront and stamped all over the front using the diamond image from the Broadway Birthday stamp set using Tranquil Tide ink and then added a piece of the gold foil designer series paper from the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper.

For the greeting I used the Broadway Lights framelits and the Big Shot to cut the black inside of the lights image as the mat for the greeting and the "happy" was cut using the Merry Christmas Thinlits and Mint Macaron cardstock.  The rest of the greeting is from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set and was stamped in Tranquil Tide ink on Whisper White cardstock and then I used a die from the thinlits to cut it out and dimensionals help pop it up.  The final touch was to tie a double bow using Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine.

I have to admit this card doesn't have the feel of a traditional Christmas card but works and has more of a retro feel and I love the mix of products to come up with something unexpected.  Oh so fun!

Broadway Bound Birthday Greetings!

Good evening!  It's been a crazy day but I couldn't end the day without sharing another fun card made using the Broadway Bound Product Suite (it was one of my favorites when the annual catalog was first released)

I started with Lovely Lipstick cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Gray Granite cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder along with two different patterns of paper from the Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper.

Next I used the Broadway Birthday stamp set and coordinating Broadway Lights Framelits (don't forget you can purchase these items as a bundle and save 10%) to make the main greeting element (I love that this stamp set included the matching dot images so you can make the words look like they are on the marquee.

To finish off the card I added a fun party hat that is actually part of the Designer Series Paper and was cut out with the framelits, and used a dimensional to attach the party hat.

I love every single element in this card, and that little strip of gold foil paper dresses it up and will make someone's birthday extra special!
