SSINKspiration Card Sketch SSINKCS54: Broadway Birthday

Good afternoon!  This was definitely a weekend that was full of fun and exhausting and makes you think, WOW a train just hit me, haha!  While we're already starting to think about the upcoming holiday season (it is October after all) birthday's are the one occasion we get to celebrate all year long and everyone has one each year.  Today the SSINKspiration team has a fun new sketch challenge and I decided to use this sketch to make a fun birthday card using the Broadway Bound Product Suite (which has the perfect amount of flash and bling!)

I started with Lovely Lipstick cardstock for the cardbase and then added Basic Black cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder.

Next I took a piece of the Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper (love that every piece has a foil design on it) and matted it with Lemon Lime Twist cardstock before wrapping a piece of Basic Black 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon around the DSP and then attached a bow (I find it easier to tie a bow separate and attach it with a glue dot so I can get it nice and centered).




For the greeting I used the Broadway Birthday stamp set to stamp the "make a" on Lovely Lipstick cardstock using Basic Black ink and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch (I punched it twice to make it shorter and attached it with mini dimensionals.  I used the Broadway Lights Framelits to cut with "wish" out of Gold Foil (I found it interesting that this word is actually three pieces so make sure you get every piece.

This card is nice and simple but the foil and glimmer accents help dress it up, kind of like the perfect little black dress.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using this sketch and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.
