Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #332: Painted Poppies

Good morning!

A fresh new week and I'm enjoying the little bit of spring we're feeling (I'll take every moment I can get) and I'm channeling feelings of spring that will be here soon as inspiration for this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge card.  I love the Peaceful Poppies Product Suite in the new catalog and all the bright, cheery colors!

For this card I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then created the cardfront using Poppy Parade cardstock and embossing it with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder and sponged all over the top to help accent the pattern.

The patterned paper is from the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper and then matted with Basic Black cardstock.  For the main stamped image I used the Painted Poppies Dies and cut the swirly circle piece out of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the flowers from the Painted Poppies stamp set (I inked only part of the stamp image so it fit in the circle) and colored them in with Stampin' Blends and attached it to the card with dimensionals.

To finish off the card I add a greeting that's from the Sending You Thoughts stamp set and stamped it on a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock that was punched out with the Story Label Punch.  The bow accent was created with the Nature's Twine and I took 2 pieces of the Blackberry Bliss Twine and separated the twine into 3 pieces (a total of 6 strands) and tied a bow.

This card is sure to bring spring feelings to anyone who receives it and brighten their day.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for inspiration and we would love for you to play along and share what you create.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC368: Music From the Heart

Good morning!

Given all of Aidan's involvement in music at school, as well as my own interest I was so excited to see the Music From the Heart stamp set in the new catalog.  I haven't had a chance to ink it up yet but as soon as I saw this weeks Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge I new it would be perfect.

For this card I used Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then matted the Whisper White cardfront with Real Red cardstock.  On the cardfront I stamped the sheet music pattern by building each of the stamps individually (the beauty of the photopolymer stamp set is easy alignment).

Next I stamped the piano image on Whisper White cardstock and used the Smoky Slate and Basic Black Stampin' Blends to color it in before matting it with Real Red cardstock.  I love the little curved keyboard image and new it would be a perfect accent and stamped it in on Smoky Slate cardstock before cutting it out with Paper Snips.

The greeting is punched out with a 1" Circle Punch and I finished off the card with a knot tied with Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon as well as some Red Rhinestones as an accent above the piano stamped piece.

I had so much fun making this card and with the colors and the curve of the piano top it could easily be used as a valentine, perhaps for a feisty teen.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team are sharing using this sketch challenge and we would love for you to play along and share what you create.

Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge #PCC367: Heartfelt

Good morning!

Love is in the air with this weeks Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge so I decided to mix up some items for a romantic feeling card (perfect since Valentine's day will be here soon!)  I always love to add a bit of black into my Valentine cards especially if I'm thinking on the more masculine side so the dude's aren't over whelmed by all the hearts (haha!)

For this card I started with Flirty Flamingo cardstock for the base and then added a piece of Real Red cardstock which was embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder as the cardfront with a strip of the From the Heart Speciality Designer Series Paper along the left edge.

Now the main piece of this card is the black heart overlay I cut using Basic Black cardstock and the Detailed Hearts Dies (all those extra cut out hearts are perfect if you want to make a shaker card as well, hint hint!)  Next I cut out one of the heart designs in the DSP and a mat using the Heart Punch Pack and added a piece of the Real Red 3/8" Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon behind the heart.

For the greeting I used the Forever Lovely stamp set and stamped in Real Red ink on Whisper White before cutting it out with the Layered Ovals Dies and then sponging around the edge with Basic Black ink before attaching it to the cardfront with dimensionals.  For that little extra bling I added some Rhinestone Jewels along the bottom of the greeting as an accent.

This card is perfect for my sweetie so I'm happy to have it ready to go!  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing with this inspiration picture and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #331: Colorful Seasons

Good morning!

I got a little comfortable with those warmer, spring like temps, last week but Mother Nature decided to remind me that it is most definitely still winter for a bit.  I don't mind winter but if it's going to be cold a little snow makes it a little better.  With all these snowy winter feelings this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration challenge is a perfect fit and I decided to show a little love to one of our annual catalog favorites, Colorful Seasons, which has images perfect for all seasons.

For this card I started with Balmy Blue as the cardbase and then added Night of Navy as mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  On the cardfront I stamped the different snowflake images in both shades of blue and then sponged around the edges with Balmy Blue ink.  To finish off the cardfront I embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

Next I took a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and matted it with Silver Foil paper for that little bling.  So the inspiration pictures had some trees in them so I decided to use the branch die from the Seasonal Layers Dies and Early Espresso cardstock to make the bare branch that is out this time of year.  I wanted to highlight the red but have a little fun so I added some hearts using one of the dies from the Trio of Tags Dies and Real Red cardstock to look like the hearts are buds on the branch.

To finish off the card I added the greeting which was stamped in Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock before cutting it out with the Stitched Shapes Dies and sponging around the edges before attaching with dimensionals.  The ribbon is the Silver 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon and I colored with the Balmy Blue Dark Stampin' Blends Marker before tying a knot.

I love the soft, winter colors which the pop of bright red and with this greeting you could use it as an anniversary or even Valentine's Card.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using this inspiration challenge and we would love for you to play along and share what you create.
