SSINKspiration Travel Adventures: Best Route Scrapbook Page

Happy Friday!  Being that we're in the heart of summer travel is on every one's mind so today the SSINKspiration team is sharing travel themed projects.  I decided to step away from cards for a little and share a page I created for a recent camping trip we went on with several families from our neighborhood.  The Best Route Product Suite is perfect for travel themed projects and is the bulk of the products I used.

I used the 12" x 12" pocket pages to help pull this together quickly as well as the Memories and More Card pack, designer series paper, washi tape, and enamel shapes.  Stampin' Up! really made this easy since everything coordinates.

I did use the Tabs for Everything stamp set for the "Happy Life" tag and others I just hand wrote.

Don't forget to get those pictures off your phones and cameras and into books so you can enjoy them for years to come (also don't forget to back them up but that's not my department, haha!)  We still love looking back through our albums remembering all our great adventures and you will too!

SSINKspiration Daily December: Easily Documenting all the Holiday Memories!

Good morning! Are you ready for the weekend?  With all the holiday happenings it's easy to take lots of pictures, and maybe you get a few posted to Facebook or Instagram but then after the holidays they sit on your phone and not looked at often.  I love all the fun of the holidays but I also love to look back and remember all those memories and enjoy them with my family which means they need to get off my phone and organized, enter the Project Life by Stampin' Up! product line.  Today on the SSINKspiration blog we're sharing ideas using the Daily December product suite and how it makes holiday memory keeping quick and easy.

This is my third year doing a Daily December album and I love it!  I work on the album early (September/October timeframe) so the album is all decorated and the page layouts designed (I'll add sticky notes to the pages with different activities so I have an idea of what I'm doing some days and others are just fun things, like decorations, or just everyday things like basketball practice, the dentist, it's all part of our holiday season) so come December I just need to slide in the pictures, and some journaling and I'm done (awesome!!)  By preworking my album I'm able to have it finished and ready to enjoy before the start of the New Year.

For the most part I use all the items in the Daily December Card Collection and Accessory Kit (which just a few added pieces here and there).  This means I cut up some cards to use as elements in different pockets and help you get the most bang for the kits.  Below are several pictures of the album and different pages I've finished for you to enjoy!

Visit to Santa (Happens before Thanksgiving, no lines!!)

Thanksgiving - Our festivities start before December 1 so I start my album a little early

I hope this has provided some inspiration and you take the plunge to get those pictures off your phones and into albums so you can enjoy them for years to come!

SSINKspiration July Blog Hop: Summer Fun!

Good morning!  It’s so nice having everyone at home this week and getting back into the summer camp/work routine.  We were looking at the calendar last weekend and realized there are only 7 more weeks of summer vacation before Aidan heads off to the 6th grade (how is that possible??)  Today over on the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration blog it’s time for our monthly blog hop (the hop has moved from Thursday to Wednesday) and this month’s theme is all about summer, how perfect is that?  I spent quite awhile looking through my current stamps to find something that inspired me with this theme and wasn’t feeling anything and then I remembered that Aidan just got back from boy scout camp and the new Always an Adventure stamp set and coordinating framelits were just delivered last week, whoo hoo I decided to scrap Aidan’s camp adventures Project Life style!!

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number #4 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - Darcy at Dj's Stampin' Place. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

This layout was interesting since I didn’t actually attend camp, so I relied on the one picture Aidan took (really kiddo, need to work on that), what the troop posted, and the departure and arrival pictures I took.  Since I knew it was going to be very heavy on the pictures I made two inserts using the Always an Adventure Bundle, one journaling card, and the rest was left for pictures.
I used most of the same supplies for both the 4x6 and 3x6 card inserts and started with Soft Sky cardstock and sponged along the top with Whisper White Craft Ink to help it look more sky like.  Next I used the stamp set and framelits to cut lots of pieces (and then kept adding and adding until I was happy with the result).  For the clouds, I stamped using Basic Black ink on Vellum cardstock, cut them out with the framelits and then sponged around the edge with the White Craft Ink for some extra effect (the Thin Tip Glue pen worked perfect to glue the clouds to the cards and the adhesive doesn’t show through the vellum, score!!)

I did also swipe the Cucumber Crush pieces for the grass and treelines along the Cucumber Crush ink pad to add additional dimension to the color.  Also, I didn’t use the framelit for the snow cap on the mountains (honestly missed seeing it so I just cut the mountains a second time using Whisper White cardstock and then hand cut the edges so they are not all the same, a little more realistic.

The journaling card is retired (I stocked up) and I just stamped along the top and added a tree and bear and then left it for Aidan to do the journaling (he didn’t want to do that last night, go figure!!)  This way he can record his favorite things about the trip and it will be a piece of his handwriting as a keepsake, double duty!!

I really like this stamp set and framelits and see myself using them quite a bit for all our outdoor adventures.  It was also fun when I showed the page to Aidan he loved it and thanked me for making it (I love that he appreciates things like this and enjoys looking through our old albums remembering our adventure, that’s what this is all about).  I will admit these can be kind of “putsy”, meaning I took several hours to just make those two cards and just enjoyed playing.  Don’t know if these are quick and easy, but the more I use them we’ll see.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Scrapbook Sketch Challenge: SSInkLS22

Good morning!  We survived the weekend and had a wonderful time at the BBQ but are still resting and recovering from all the fun.  It's the 3rd Monday of the month, which means over on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog it's time for a scrapbook sketch challenge.  After finishing my 2013 ad 2014 albums I was excited to get started on this years book.  Unfortunately, with the retirement of My Digital Studio earlier this month, this is the last month I'll be using this software for sketch challenges.  I'm still planning on working on digital projects, including our albums but for personal use (love I still have access to all my downloads and projects to continue to enjoy).  We were given a fun challenge this month so I decided to start with a predesigned page layout and then changed it up to fit our challenge (I love the banner and colors on this page an didn't want to start from scratch with all the elements.

This page was from our visit to Hilton Head Island earlier this month, it was a great trip and I enjoyed reliving the fun looking through pictures.  This layout is great and would make a great projects for a décor item (perhaps for a Father's Day gift, graduation, etc.)  Make sure to check out the other design team creations and then come play along in the fun!

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Scrapbook Sketch Challenge: SSInkLS21

Good morning!  We're starting another week and looking forward to the upcoming Memorial Day weekend (holiday weekends are always better).  Since it's the third Monday of the month, you know that it's time for another scrapbook challenge over on the
Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog.  I had another race this weekend which was a lot of fun but since I'm working on trying to finish up my 2013 and 2014 digital albums before the end of the month when My Digital Studio and digital print products are retired I decided to use this months sketch for a race I was in last year.  I like to include all these pictures in my yearly album to remember how far we've come an each moment and since a lot of these layouts really highlight just a picture or two it's perfect.  I loved the Nike Women's Half Marathon last year in DC (unfortunately they're not having it in DC this year). At the end of the race instead of getting the usual race medal you get these beautiful Tiffany necklaces by these charming hotties (who wouldn't want to run 13.1 miles if you knew this would be at the end??)

I was able to use lots of different DSP prints and colors for the elements on this page.  It is nice that even after My Digital Studio is retired I'll still be able to use the program and all the downloads I've purchased to continue making projects, just working to make sure I've back ups of everything!  Don't forget to make sure you have this program and any downloads you want downloaded before the end of the month so you can continue using this great tool for your future project (and if you have any projects in work finish them up so you can get them ordered before the print products services are no longer available).

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration April Scrapbook Sketch Challenge

Good morning!  After a wonderful weekend it's time to start another week and see what's in store for us.  The third Monday of the month brings the scrapbook sketch challenge over on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog so it's a great opportunity to get another layout completed.  As you may have heard Stampin' Up! will be discontinuing the My Digital Studio program after May 30.  I'm really sad about this as I use the program regularly so I've got some work ahead of me to try to get my 2013 and 2014 annual scrapbook albums completed so I can get them ordered and printed using the Stampin' Up! professional print services.

For this months layout I decided o  use a couple of pictures from when we spent the say at Kings Dominion back in 2013.  I used the Nobody's Business kit for the initial layout and most of the elements on the page.  It was fun playing with this layout and using lots of different elements and patterns of paper for fun.  I love looking back at pictures and seeing how we've change (especially Aidan!!)

The other design team members have shared some beautiful pages for further inspiration so please go check them out and then play along.  When was the last time you scrapbooked?  It's been far too long for me, so I've got to get back at it to try to get these books finished.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration: Scrapbook Sketch Challenge #SSINKLS19

Good morning!  What crazy, fun filled weekend!  We had two basketball games and Aidan's team played so well and fought and will now be playing in the playoffs next weekend.  I have saw, with so many events and activities we're involved in sometimes it's the little things that really make a memory.  As Aidan's gotten older one of the things he wants to do is learn how to cook and it's fun to see him experience it all.  Last summer Chris worked with Aidan to teach him how to smoke pork (one of Aidan's favorite foods) and it was so great watching as they worked together and had fun along the way and I know these are memories that will last so I decided to use it for this months Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog scrapbook sketch challenge.

Jenn gave us a fun sketch challenge and since I only had a couple of pictures I decide to let them be the focus and then add some DSP elements.  I also started with a predesigned page but I ended up changing almost ever element on the page so it's not even recognizable from the original.

The designers are sharing some great ideas over on the blog, using the sketch not only for scrapbook pages but also cards, so make sure to check them out.  Then you can play along and see what sparks your creativity.

Project Life by Stampin' Up! Daily December: Finished Album

Good morning!  We’re back home and back to the daily routine (and secretly missing the warm weather and hoping for spring to arrive soon!)  So I realized the other day that in December I shared the start of my Daily December project (using the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! items) with you and promised I would share the finished album and haven’t.  So today’s your lucky day!  I finished the majority of my album on December 26 (sent all my Christmas pictures out to be printed Christmas night so they were ready the next morning).  Unfortunately I forgot one and then wanted to add pages from the rest of our holiday break so I just finished it.  Mainly I used the December Daily Project Life Card Kit and matching Accessory Pack but did also add some elements of my own to fit what I wanted.
So here’s my entire album:

I have to say I absolutely love how this turned out and love that I have a finished album for us to enjoy right away, not having the pictures whiled away on my computer and phone where we can’t enjoy them.  I won’t be doing this daily photo concept for our entire year (let’s admit it our life isn’t that exciting) but for special times this is perfect and will definitely be going this again next year.
Even though this kit isn’t available for sale anymore Stampin’ Up! has some great Project Life items that can help you with your memory keeping, just ask me how!  Even better, schedule a ladies night for a fun with wine and photos and you and your friends can leave with pages completed and ready to enjoy!

Enjoy!
