30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 4

Good morning!

So this week I've decided to showcase the stamp set Enjoy Life and share several different ideas as inspiration using this set, including for today's gratitude card.  I also decided to use the See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper (with it's amazing patterns and colors) today for the color inspiration.

I used Crushed Curry cardstock for the cardbase and then the piece of DSP is the bold background with no work on my part (love that!)  For the stamped image I started by using the Bokeh Dots stamp and stamped in Crushed Curry ink.  Then I used the Enjoy Life flower which was stamped in Basic Black and the greeting in Poppy Parade.  This piece was matted with Poppy Parade cardstock before being attached to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final touch was to add a single bow tied with Whisper White Baker's Twine.

Sometimes I get really fancy with lots of tool and techniques on a card and other times, like this, I keep it simple and let the amazing products do all the work (and give me the credit, lol!)  I love the bright colors and look of texture on this card, it just makes me smile.

Picture Perfect Graduation Greetings!

Good afternoon!

This weekend we had the privilege to attend a high school graduation party for a friend, what a wonderful reason to celebrate.  I like to try to personalize the card for the recipient and graduations are the perfect time to use the graduates school colors so I made this card that uses a couple of retiring items (that will only be available until tonight) in unique ways.  This card was inspired by my friend Bree's graduation card that she shared last week, you can see it HERE which I just loved.

I started with Thick Whisper White cardstock for the cardbase and then added a mat of Basic Black cardstock for the Pumpkin Pie cardfront which was embossed with the Big Shot and Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder.  Next I added a piece of the Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper (retiring and on sale!) which the fun foil accents.

The greeting is from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set (retiring) and was stamped in Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I used the Bokeh Dots stamp set to make the fun fireworks type pattern in the background using Pumpkin Pie ink.  Before attaching the greeting to the cardfront with dimensionals I matted it with Basic Black cardstock.

To finish off the card I made this cute graduation cap punch art piece, using the Tailored Tag Punch and Balloon Bouquet Punch (retiring) as well as some Whisper White Baker's Twine (you can search on Pinterest to find how to make the cap, it's not my creation!)

I was beyond happy with how this card turned out, and using a "birthday" stamp set for graduation only extends it's usefulness (trust me this one will not be leaving my studio any time soon.  Reminder today is the last day to order retiring items from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and the 2019 Occasions Catalog so make sure to check your list to make sure you have everything you wanted before it's too late!

SSINKspiration Favorite DSP (Annual Catalog): Bokeh Dots

Happy FriYAY! How is it possible for this week to go so quickly, guess it’s all the fun we’re having!  We’re heading to the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tonight and I can’t wait to start getting in the seasonal mood, Disney-style!  Before we get started with all of that fun, I’m playing along with the SSINKspiration team who is sharing our favorite Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog.  This years catalog has lots of great paper but I think the one that is my absolute favorite is the Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper.  Not only does it have some wonderful birthday images but I’m blown away with all the fabulous foil prints (yep, me and that bling again!!)  It really is a great way to dress up a project with not a lot of word.

I started with Merry Merlot cardstock for the cardbase (it’s my first time using this color and love it’s rich intensity) and then took a piece of the foiled Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper and used it for the cardfront.  Next I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped using the Bokeh Dots stamp set using Merry Merlot ink and trimmed it down.  I stamped the greeting which is from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set and stamped it in Basic Black ink.  To finish off the card I matted the greeting with both Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock layers.

This card doesn’t have any embellishments or accents, it just let’s the stamping and the foil DSP take center stage, and it really works!  Plus, honestly when you’re talking about how fabulous someone is don’t they deserve foil and bling??  Hope you’ve enjoyed the cards I’ve shared this week using the Bokeh Dots stamp set and don’t forget to order by this Sunday to take advantage of my special of the week!

Beachside Greetings: Bokeh Dots

Good morning!  Are you having fun with all these cards using the Bokeh Dots stamp set?  It’s a great foundation stamp that works with so many things.  Today I’m sharing another quick card (are you noticing a theme?  While on vacation, simplicity is key!!)  Just like the card the other day I added a second color of ink with a Sponge Dauber randomly that create a fun color effect.

I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then Pacific Point as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  The Bokeh Dots stamped piece uses Pool Party and Pacific Point ink and it was stamped directly on the cardfront.

Next I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set for the greeting was stamped in Basic Black ink.  For the fun beach chair I used the Big Shot and the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to cut the chair out of Basic Black cardstock.

This card definitely makes me think of the sea and beach and relaxing with my toes in the sand!

Quick and Easy Birthday Greetings: Bokeh Dots

Good morning!  We’re have a great time at Disney (I’m sure that’s no surprise as it is the most magical place in the world!!) but I wanted to drop in to share another quick card using the Bokeh Dots stamp set which is my featured Product of the Week.  We made this card at a recent birthday card class and I love it’s simplicity, which a hint of bling!

I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock as a mat for the Whisper white cardfront.  On the cardfront I stamped the Bokeh Dots stamp set in Smoky Slate ink to help anchor my dragonfly.  The dragonfly was cut out using the Big Shot and Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits along with a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  After cutting it out I sponged the dragonfly with Tranquil Tide ink and then attached it to the cardfront using Tombo Liquid Glue and only applying it to the body of the dragonfly so the wings have movement.

To finish off the card I added the greeting which is from the 25 Again stamp set and it was stamped in Tranquil Tide ink.

I love the simplicity of this card and the glimmer paper just adds an elegant touch, and of course this is a very mailable card, perfect to send birthday greetings!

Dreaming Greetings: Bokeh Dots

Good morning!  I’m back and sharing another card today using the Bokeh Dots stamp set.  One of the great things about one of these larger, background type stamps is you can create different effects just by how you add ink.  For this card I added the first layer of ink all over the stamp and then before stamping added a second color of ink with a Sponge Dauber randomly that creates this dreamy like effect which is pretty cool.

I used Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then Night of Navy as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  The Bokeh Dots stamped piece uses Gorgeous Grape and Night of Navy ink and it was matted with Smoky Slate cardstock.

Next I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set for the greeting was stamped in Night of Navy ink.  For the tree I used the Big Shot and the Nature’s Roots Framelits to cut this tree out of Night of Navy cardstock and then attached it with dimensionals.  The final touch was to wrap a piece of Gorgeous Grape ¼” Mini Striped Ribbon around the cardfront.

This card has a soft, dream like feel which I absolutely love!
